So DH thinks a 20 minute shower is perfectly normal

I can't understand what he is doing in there for 20 minutes Confused I don't consciously rush, but I'm in and out in about 5. Wash hair, wash body, done.

This is a very unserious post, we aren't falling out over it, but just for shits and giggles...do you think a 20 minute shower is the norm?

If I'm washing my hair, yes. Otherwise, 15 is normal, ten is quick.

Nezuko22 · 08/10/2024 23:26

20 minutes is probably a shorter shower for me.

KaToby · 08/10/2024 23:26

If I have an everything shower it’s easily 15/20 minutes

Scutterbug · 08/10/2024 23:27

About 5-10 mins for me, 5 mins for DH. One of my sons when he lived at home would happily stay in there for 45 minutes! Drove me mad!

CheeryUser · 08/10/2024 23:27

I can spend an hour in the bath so will quietly

Hate showers. In and out in 3 mins. Easily spend an hour in the bath, though.

sorry, that probably doesn’t help at all 😁

IceStationZebra · 08/10/2024 23:29

Very normal for me but I am washing and conditioning long hair and probably shaving too. If I was in a rush I could manage in 10.

NuffSaidSam · 08/10/2024 23:31

I don't know if it's normal, but I like a 20 minute shower. What am I doing in there? Relaxing mostly. And then washing.

RabbitsRock · 08/10/2024 23:31

I could go 20 mins if I’m using shampoo/conditioner/ my expensive shower creme/exfoliating foot scrub but normally I just use shampoo & shower gel so it’s maybe 5 or 10 mins max.

mushpush · 08/10/2024 23:32

20 minutes is a standard for me! Double shampoo, condition, shave, soap etc. Can be longer if I'm going for the full glossy slug vibes! Or shaving the hoo haa, can't rush that.

SwedishEdith · 08/10/2024 23:34

How does washing your hair take 20 minutes?

lockdownbabyx · 08/10/2024 23:34

I LOVE a shower so the longer the better for me. I hate when I'm in a hurry and have to have a quick shower 😂

fallenbranches · 08/10/2024 23:34

3-5 mins max if not washing my hair. 15 mins of hair washing (and I have long hair). I do not understand the need to have long showers. Quickly foam the sponge, give a good wash and rinse. My DH also spends ages and the bathroom is like a sauna when he finishes. He finds it relaxing but each to their own...

NailsHairNipsHeels · 08/10/2024 23:36

I'm a 5min showerer. No messing about. In, get wet. Wash hair, wash face, wash and shave everywhere else and out.
Where I fail is it then takes me about an hour to get dried, dry hair and put make up on

TwattyMcFuckFace · 08/10/2024 23:36

15 to 20 minutes for me, but that includes hair wash and using the squeegee on both sides of the shower screen and quickly rinsing the bath.

But it doesn't matter how long you spend in the bath! The water is there already whether you spend 5 mins or 40. But a shower is different...and more expensive the longer you stay in!

pizzaHeart · 08/10/2024 23:38

I think it’s excessive. With washing long hair, yes, maybe, but I suspect it’s not the case.
My whole routine with drying hair and applying make up is just a bit more than 20 minutes.

batt3nb3rg · 08/10/2024 23:42

If I'm washing my hair I'm in the shower for 40 minutes to an hour, but I doubt your husband has knee length curly hair to deal with 😂

roseymoira · 08/10/2024 23:44

You can't possibly think what he could be doing in there all that time, no?

coffeesaveslives · 08/10/2024 23:46

I could happily have a 20 minute shower!

How does washing your hair take 20 minutes?

I have waist length thick hair...

SunsetSkylane · 08/10/2024 23:52

20 minutes, easy. That's only about 5 songs.

tattygrl · 08/10/2024 23:55

If I'm having a proper shower, as opposed to a super quick rinse, I physically cannot get everything done in five minutes - I genuinely don't understand how anyone does that. Maybe it's because I have long and thick hair - just getting it thoroughly wet takes a few minutes. Shampoo takes a min to work it through my hair. Getting conditioner through it takes another few minutes. Letting the conditioner sit while washing my body is another few. Rinsing is another few minutes. I'd say ten is the absolute quickest I can do if washing my hair, and shaving adds at least another five.

BlaiseBaileyFinneganiii · 08/10/2024 23:57

I'll never understand people who say they shower so quickly they don't even get wet by the time they've got out again.

Twenty minutes is perfectly fine!

DoYouReally · 08/10/2024 23:59

Normal for me
