So DH thinks a 20 minute shower is perfectly normal

I can't understand what he is doing in there for 20 minutes I don't consciously rush, but I'm in and out in about 5. Wash hair, wash body, done.

This is a very unserious post, we aren't falling out over it, but just for shits and giggles...do you think a 20 minute shower is the norm?

A 20 min shower is too long?

20 - 30 mins for an everything shower for me.

I can do a five minute one in a pinch - one minute to rinse, one to shampoo, one to condition, one to body wash, one to rinse again.

Wait, no I actually condition and body wash at the same time and then rinse - so two are done at once.

Perfectly normal for me to be in there 20 minutes, I’m washing my hair, conditioning for few minutes, washing my face and body. Aside from that I’m enjoying the hot water 🤷🏼‍♀️

Omg my son can take any time up to or over an hour. Luckily we are not on a water meter

My “everything” shower can be 30-40 mins!

I have curly hair which has quite a protracted wash/condution/product/styling routine which all takes place in the shower, I also brush my teeth and cleanse my face, as well as washing and exfoliating my body, shaving the requisite areas of my body, giving me my heels a going over with the file and scrub under all my finger and toenails with a nail brush.

I turn the water off during any bits where I’m shaving or applying product/styling my hair.

What on earth is a glossy slug? I assumed it meant a shaved “hoo-haa” but then you mentioned that separately so I’m genuinely confused and intrigued!

My DH took long showers. Then we had a baby and it started to piss me off. He didn't see the problem. So I started taking showers as long as his were. Suddenly he can shower in 10 mins!

It can take that long but I can do shorter.

Hair wash rinse, second shampoo, use scalp massager, let it sit. Wash body with soap, use body scrub, rinse hair, condition.

Wash with my scented shower gel, shave, rinse conditioner, rinse body.

Then start the moisturising and scented body butter, pedicure, manicure, face & neck routine.

Spent years having a run in and out shower, dry and deodorant out the door. I treat myself better now because it makes me feel so much better. Also kids are older so now have the time.

I don't think it's the absorbancy of my towels that's the problem. I think it's the absorbancy of my skin 🤣 because it's so dry! (and yes, to answer the next suggestion obviously I do moisturise). I'm not reporting a problem that I'm looking for a solution here, merely explaining that I take longer to dry off than others do 😆

Those of you who have long showers - is your hot water cylinder a bottomless one? 😃

I suppose electric showers can heat as much water as you need, but water coming from the cylinder must have a limit!

I'm a ten minute gal myself, quicker if I can, occasionally longer, using the hot water cylinder. Just me so there's no worries about capacity. I hate baths, hate hate hate them.

As for drying and towels, I have a towelling bathrobe thing, and if I just dry myself very quickly with a towel and am still quite ahem, damp.... my super duper hairdryer does the rest, AND my hair also. Lovely...

20 mins minimum for me. Hair washing, leg shaving and washing. I put deep conditioners on so leave that on and comb through whilst I do something else. Can’t wash your hair and clean properly in under 10 minutes. I can’t understand why men need 20 minutes to have a dump though. That’s for another post but that gets right on my t1ts!

20 minutes is crazy, how big are your bills? 5 minutes to wash hair and shave everything here. I love having a shower too.

5 mins for me. About 8 if shaving. I have very fine, straight hair in a shortish bob, so washing and conditioning it is very quick.

I could spend hours in the shower. It’s warm and queit. I’ve literally cut down how many showers I have a week so I can spend longer in them when I do shower 😂

I miss being a teenager and naively showering for hours wondering why my poor dad kept trying to cut my showers down to half an hour.

15 /20 mins yes, for shampoo, time to leave conditioner in, wash, body scrub and generally ease my aching body under the lovely hot water.

Less than 5 minutes for me, including hair wash. Can’t be doing with spending any longer than necessary in there. As for baths, not a chance I’m going to wallow in my own dirty water!
