Looks lovely Miss C it's been raining all night here.

DS for the first time in two weeks has slept through the night without crying.

Tilllly · 22/02/2024 06:55

Yay to DS @Lemonsandlemonade

It was torrential here!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 22/02/2024 07:03

Lemons, 🥳🥳🥳 for you re your ds sleeping through.
Miss, great accommodation! Can we all come crash? 😃
Penguins, that's allota limes! 😝 No stomach ache???
Tilly, car companies mived away from including spares a while ago... I have an older car, so no idea how to deal with flats. 🤷‍♀️ It's not illegal, though, otherwise the cars couldn't be sold, imported/exported.

I've had two large pieces of tuxedo cake and I'm watching Season 3 episode 5 of The Morning Show on Apple.

Tilllly · 22/02/2024 07:46

@Mumtobabyhavoc

Well having had to surrender my licence, bastard cancer, I am affected only marginally less than when I was driving

Because then, if I had a flat, it didn't matter because I had my phone and my helpless voice 😁

Mumtobabyhavoc · 22/02/2024 11:32

Tilly, I'd have to call for help, too. 🤷‍♀️
Bizzey, did you make a banana bread?

Miss, I see we have made it to page 20. 😁

bizzey · 22/02/2024 16:09

Catching up on on the lovely ...and in some cases annoying news ...

Tyres seems be theme at the moment!

I don't drive anymore either , but tyres were the bain of my life as well when I had a car !

Busy , boring , stressful couple of days here 😞.

Mam had to have an OT /adult services assessment for her home .

Bless her it was so hard for her , to have to admit that things were getting difficult for her .

But , it went well and adaptations are being fitted in the next week .

And her beloved bathroom is going to be turned into a wet room.

Though, I think that will be more of a summer job/waiting list.

She can't use the bath at all , so has to strip wash only.
I may have to take her away again for a night or two and go to a hotel with disabled/special bathroom just she can have a nice shower 😅.

They are organising a little walker that she pushes in front to replace her stick , which will make life a lot easier and safer for her and me !! she pulls on my arm when we are out !

bizzey · 22/02/2024 16:17

Ohh ,.and I am trying to replace my " lost " passport that I renewed less than 2 years ago .

Apparently you can't use the same photo as it has to be a photo less than 6 months old .

So , it is on hold till I submit a new photo.

PP photos for me are normally not a bother ...no one sees them .....but this time I have to get my friend to countersignature the photo .....and I am vain 🤣🤣🤣!!!

Need to go to the photo shop that do them , with a full face of slap on , looking like I am going to a photo shoot night out 🤣🤣...

I will do a face and eye mask tonight and hopefully go tomorrow as torrential rain is not forecasted .

I wear glasses ....so it throws me seeing close up photos of my face where my eyes are visible 🤣🤣.

@bizzey
I looked like a drug addict on my first
Put some slap on, looked like a hooker

Can't win!

No Tilllly. It's a legal requirement that the spare tyre is in roadworthy condition, if you have one. If it was low on tread and I was poor I'd just remove it before the MOT and put it back after. There's no requirement to have a spare tyre though. New cars haven't come with a spare tyre for years now. A cost cutting exercise I expect. Sometimes you can add it as an optional extra. Sometimes there's an emergency wheel/tyre that's smaller than all the other wheels on the car or a bottle of goop to fill a puncture hole, the product contained in an inflatable gas canister. Both just designed to get you going again so you can get to the garage for a replacement tyre.

That's interesting about the spare tyres, @MallardsMoorhensAndLethe. In the US, cars still have to have a spare, but it's almost always the small, limited service type. My understanding is that the car makers switched to save vehicle weight and improve fuel economy.

Thanks @MallardsMoorhensAndLethe

How stupid, but you don't have to have one, but if you do, it's got to be roadworthy.
