and anyone else who would like to join us, whatever your daily tasks are.

I joined after procrastinating putting up some curtain tie backs and now I am flying through a massive decluttering exercise. (I need to tackle the loft next, but I may need to sit down (a lot) before I do that 😄).

Hope the tagging works, SoE.

Petal, how was your Dad today? Keeping you in my thoughts. 🩷
SoE, how is the cupboard cleaning going?

I got a bit of a grocery shop done today and cleaned the car this evening in addition to the usual laundry. Have packed up baby clothes to donate and got rid of the cardboard box that had the new play yard in it. Slowly getting things in order...😅

FrostyFogg · 13/02/2024 06:50

@petalpower I am so sorry to read this! I very much hope he is being treated in a comfortable bed now, and improving. You must be shattered. My very best wishes to you and your family 💐

WinterLobelia · 13/02/2024 08:07

I've placemarked on the new thread thanks @FrostyFogg

Hope everyone is well. Safe travels @Peridot1 and i am so sorry to hear about your dad @petalpower Thanks

Hope your migraine is long gone @FrostyFogg

Waves to everyone.

Not alot done here as we had a day out due to half term and another one tomorrow. I need to get cracking on tidying today as we will be back late tomorrow and the cleaner comes at 6.30 am Thursday!!

Hope everyone has a great day.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 13/02/2024 08:21

SoE, re-read your last post for inspo. You've given me the urge to cull my pots and pans. I do need a new non-stick frying pan. Despite good care they never last long (unless anyone knows the secret?).
Cleaned bathroom and washed floor.
Nursed baby and changed diaper.
Am finally in bed. 🥱

TawnyT · 13/02/2024 09:24

@petalpower hope your Dad has been seen to now and is doing ok, and that you've managed to rest a bit. Really feels like the NHS is on its knees atm 🙁

I need to get laundry done today (usually DPs job but he's in the office)
Cards and parcels are by the door to post at lunchtime
Kitchen is half finished, just the countertops to wipe
And want to get a curry in the slow cooker on my morning break tea tonight

Gym booked for later 💪

Have a good day all!

RunningKatie · 13/02/2024 10:38

How is your dad @petalpower ? Hope he's doing ok.
I've accidentally been AWOL since the snow, I took dd to London at the weekend. It has changed! We walked up a road I used to walk to work every day for 2 years and I barely recognised it. Obviously it was nearly 25 years ago and it's allowed but still!
Half term here, yesterday we met friends and I also stocked up on plates at a factory shop near them. Then I met old work friends for curry. Today I did PT at 7am and we've off to a gaming place, I can hardly wait!
I've also got to:
Figure out the new school messaging app,
log activity hours for both dc
Run a cleaning cycle on the washing machine
Clean the downstairs loo
Buy pancake ingredients
Make pancakes
Eat pancakes

Hope everyone has a good Tuesday.

TawnyT · 13/02/2024 10:55

Ooo I forgot it's pancake day! Woop, pancakes for tea tonight 🙌

petalpower · 13/02/2024 21:08

Thank you all for your kind words and good wishes for my dad. He is now on a ward with a bed but is very confused and disorientated. Some of that is the infection but a lot is his Alzheimer’s. He is responding well to the antibiotics but as a family we are very worried for him and my stepmother when he’s discharged. My stepmother also has memory issues and a care package really needs to be in place before dad goes home. As an extended family/stepfamily we’re covering visiting hospital between us although I’m now back home 3 hours away and trying to hang on before going back as it’s my DDs last few days in the UK before going off travelling for many months. I’m doing the bare minimum at home but had a quick tidy up and visited auntie at the care home today. Also took DD for her final travel immunisations. I’m still catching up from my night sitting on a hard plastic chair in A and E (think stacking school chair type) and no sleep at all looking after dad in A and E. (I did manage to get a nicer recliner chair for him though so he could curl up a bit.)

Mumtobabyhavoc · 13/02/2024 22:09

Petal, sorry you both had such a rough night. Glad you dad is properly admitted now. Try to get yourself a good meal, a hot bath and a restful sleep. 🩷

SingleThreadJoiner · 14/02/2024 15:00

almost time to move to the new thread! @petalpower I am so sorry you are going through all this, especially while also looking ahead to your D's trip...

And I hope that everyone is dry and safe from either rain or snow, here and in N. America!

I hope everyone had a good pancake night, if you were celebrating - H's pancakes turned out particularly good last night, and we all enjoyed them greatly, especially the D who was sure to lick every last bit of Nutella off the plate 😄

Despite fighting against a bunch of deadlines at work - 48h until I go on vacation for a week!!!! - I managed to get quite a few things done across Monday and yesterday - tidied the house for the cleaners, changed bed sheets, did several loads of laundry, checked in for the flight Friday, got Valentine's card and last bits of birthday present for the H, bought a few more things for the trip. And I even did a fair amount of packing today! Can't quite believe it!

RunningKatie · 14/02/2024 20:10

How's your dad doing today @petalpower - hope the antibiotics are working their wonders.
Back to work today, I made pancakes last night and they were not my best at all. Might try again in a few days when I've got time.
Today there's been a friend over for dc1, tomorrow is dc2's turn. None of them care about that state of the house but I'm still getting up early to give the place a quick tidy up. Madness!

petalpower · 15/02/2024 08:43

Shall we all move over to the new thread? I’m going to start posting just on that one now.

FrostyFogg · 15/02/2024 08:58

See you all there!
