Oliver Dowden is woeful. The same old shite sounds worse coming from him than it does from Sunak, and I thought that was bad enough. Patronising the little woman opposite.

L1ttledrummergirl · 17/05/2023 12:16

He's lying through his teeth, crime down, gdp highest anywhere.
Why is the speaker letting him get away with it?

Select committee looking at what happened with the arrests at the coronation. Don’t think the other committee members have much time for 30p Lee.

Light relief.

Our current young people will turn this place into a cultural Marxist wokeist utopia. Yes. So we need an army of Conservative Babies to fight back. In between naps. I’m still working out the details.”

@MattGreencomedy bang on target as usual. ~AA

Some light relief, from a different kind of comedian Wink

Lee Anderson has managed to ask the head of Republic a question SO DUMB that the chair of the Home Affairs Select Committee has to intervene to move on to more sensible questioning.

That Matt Green sketch is almost too painfully accurate to be funny.

🚨 | BREAKING: Rishi Sunak has launched "Conservative Lottery" in which Tory members can win £10k cash, a signed-cricket bat, and a 10-minute phone call with him...

A free holiday for second prize. Now that is ninja level trolling. 😂

I’m trying to work out the market for the cricket bat though. I’d love a signed one, as would lots of family and friends. Not quite sure why I’d want it signed by the PM and not Stokes or Butler or any other actual cricketer.

Andrea "finger gesture" Jenkyns has created a petition to withdraw from the ECHR. I can't be bothered to link to it.
Funnily enough she makes no mention of the Belfast Agreement in her pitch.

Well well well… the Times think only Labour can solve the housing crisis.

That's an interesting editorial. 🧐

The Comments sections seem to be full of centrist views (left & right).

"I'm not going to apologise... what was done was done."

Former Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng refuses to apologise over his time in office alongside Liz Truss, and tells @cathynewman he would like to see lower taxes under Rishi Sunak.

Kwarteng's going to have a nasty shock when someone explains to him that one of the reasons taxes are so high is that the last Chancellor deliberately crashed the economy.

Good god. The arrogance of the man "I won't apologise" and what makes me laugh is... he is channelling Trump who used to say 'a man came up to me with tears in his eyes saying "Sir, thank you for being President"

Kwarteng saying "people come up to me and say 'you tried you best, we understand what you were trying to do"

Bollocks to that!

From James O’Brien’s Twitter: Daily Mail having a totally normal one.

Ok Daily Mail, are many of those people in the room with you right now?

Fuck sakes give Dacre a knighthood and let him wheeze away in the Lords (where he'll probably have his arse handed to him).

RafaistheKingofClay · 18/05/2023 10:22

Luckily they don’t have any history of supporting fascists. Oh wait…

DuncinToffee · 18/05/2023 10:32

This is an interesting take

Rishi Sunak does things that piss off his headbanger colleagues (on immigration, on REUL, on deals with Europe). But if you analyse his actions as someone who knows he's lost the 2024 gen elex and is seeking a big international job (IMF, World Bank) they make perfect sense.
