Placemarking for whatever today’s nonsense is going to be.

L1ttledrummergirl · 27/04/2023 10:07

Thank you @DuncinToffee.

Unicorn Britain, where the rich get richer, the poor get poorer and we are told to ignore the evidence we see around us in favour of what the government decides is right today.

Magic money tree when Truss broke the country, no magic money tree for public sector workers.

Unicorn Britain, where there is a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow, you just need a tory friend to help you find it.

Thanks Duncin Brew

Pmk and thanks for the threads. 🦄

You’d have thought someone might have told Sunak that this was a really poor choice of name. Are his advisers trolling him? What’s next, sunlit uplands business park?

pointythings · 27/04/2023 10:11

Thanks, @DuncinToffee . I'm here for the continuation of all the nonsense. In other news, I've got a job - back to the NHS (I must be mad) as a PA in specialist services (which is where my heart lies).

Thx Dunc for new thread Smile

NEW: Judge rules that imminent Royal College of Nursing Strike has to be cut short by a day. Government won its case. Will now end on Bank Holiday Monday rather Tuesday.
So government won its case. But at what cost? Disputes rarely resolved with legal action. Attitudes likely to harden at exactly the moment RCN was basically split on way forward.

RafaistheKingofClay · 27/04/2023 13:02

The RCN didn’t send their lawyers to court this morning.

SerendipityJane · 27/04/2023 13:19

I cam imagine an overseas employee refusing a transfer to the UK (and winning) as our human rights record goes down the shitter.

Also, if you consider that human rights should be more protected than property rights (hollow laugh) then if human rights aren't upheld, how can a foreign business be sure property rights will be ?

NYT not pulling any punches here. And they don’t even get as far as mentioning Tory human rights abuses.

Neither Britain nor the more Tory-voting England is fundamentally Conservative. In the absence of a genuinely representative democracy, such conclusions simply cannot be drawn: The Conservative Party’s remarkable ability to win elections has no corollary in nationwide popularity.

AdamRyan · 27/04/2023 13:45

Really interesting article. So depressing though.

The day after Unicorn UK (a pathetic attempt to poison Googles algorithms and stifle bad Brexit results surfacing) I give you ...

I don't understand this. Blizzard is an American company, based in America, as is Microsoft. What has it got to do with with the UK? And how have they managed to block it?
