Agreed. that's certainly the impression I'm getting.

With regard to Storm Shadow plus other kit I'm not sure quite what state the Ukr Air Force is in with regard to numbers, it's quite possible they don't have the capability to generate a short two/three day campaign with an overwhelming number of strikes (cf. Gulf War 1 etc).

I wonder if instead we are going to see several weeks of the Ukr AF plinking away at a long list of selected targets as any land campaign gains momentum.

I think they'll use large numbers of drones to attack men in trenches and vehicles, and JDAM-ERs and Storm Shadows for fuel depots and command posts. I don't know what to think about the GLSDBs. I've seen a couple of reports that they won't be available until the fall, but that smells like strategic disinformation to me. You're right, it won't be like the opening of ODS. You need strategic bombers to do that properly.

I think plinking is a good term for it, and I'm sure the target list has been ready for weeks.
