A thread for those of us who have less refined tastes.

No arguing please, like the unpopular opinions thread please respect the uncultured opinions.

I'll start;

Oscar nominated films are often boring and rubbish. I'd rather watch old episodes of Gavin and Stacey or Ghosts. (I'll make an exception for Titanic, the greatest film of all time)

I like pineapple 🍍 on pizza 🍕

I've been to Italy and the pizza wasn't that nice

I like Robusta coffee better than Arabica

I dont like fine dining. I prefer street food. " The Menu" had it right.

I like making cheese toasties with slices of that neon orange American cheese

I tried reading Wolf Hall. Got 20 pages in and swapped it for the latest Milly Johnston.

I like traditional British seaside towns - arcades, funfairs, donkeys and all the tackiness that goes with that.

A lot of designer items are just rubbish, ordinary items with a brand name, sold for ridiculous amount of money just for the name alone.

People often can't tell the difference between them and regular ones unless you tell them what designer it is ("what/who are you wearing?"; "This is an expensive item, dontcha know?"), hence many people's need to have the clearly branded items to speak for themselves.

Quality is quality, designer or not. Rubbish is rubbish, designer or not.

I like our hot tub.

I especially like a glass of prosecco in the hot tub.

Live music is rubbish and a waste of money.

Ferrero Rocher are the nicest chocolates!

I don't like olives. The Devil's grapes.

I'd rather drink irn bru than alcohol

I'd rather eat dairy milk than any posh chocs

People keep giving me complicated books on the history of things I'm interested in. I don't care about the history. I just like knitting, or sewing or whatever.

I also don't have the time or the mental energy to read grown up books so I'll just download some soft porn off kindle for free or re-read a Terry Pratchett for the millionth time. Sometimes I read what people on MN say about the popular proper books so I can fake an opinion. Same for politics.

"Literature" is code for pretentious, boring, navel gazing twaddle. It exists so book club members can say things like "It's lyrical".

Give me a good cozy mystery and stuff the Booker Prize winners.

I hate Shakespeare. Every play I’ve seen has been like watching paint dry. Books work as well as sleeping pills though.

I am eagerly awaiting the new series of Made in Chelsea.

My all-time favourite TV series, I watch it all the way through probably once a year, is Dawson's Creek.

I am in my 50s.

I don't like Shakespeare or poetry
I really dislike oysters and mussels
I prefer coffee with milk in
I can't tell the difference between designer clothes and something from M and S
I watch a lot of TV

I like blue WKD and wine all tastes like vinegar.

I can't say I really like alcohol either. Cheese and alcohol are migraine triggers. I miss cheese so much more! (There are half decent cheeses that I can have)

A lot of modern literature, modern art and modern classical music that often gets raved about in media is just pretentious shit.

There is a quote that 90% of everything is rubbish but it must be higher in these areas and many well publicized prizes are just attempts to disguise this.
