Uncultured opinions thread

A thread for those of us who have less refined tastes.

No arguing please, like the unpopular opinions thread please respect the uncultured opinions.

I'll start;

Oscar nominated films are often boring and rubbish. I'd rather watch old episodes of Gavin and Stacey or Ghosts. (I'll make an exception for Titanic, the greatest film of all time)

When it comes to chocolate, I prefer quantity to quality. Spend all that money on multiple bars of Galaxy, rather than a exquisitely-wrapped box of six tiny chocolates with soft centres.

I prefer generic 'pub' food to fancy food. I'd still rather have multiple meals at a carvery or Harvester or chain pub/restaurant, than a single posh meal where the largest portion is the size of a coaster in the middle of a huge white plate (if you get a plate at all, many times it's on a slate instead)

i wear supermarket clothes. I don't have the patience for clothes shops.

I always thought them completely over-rated, some nice pleasant little tunes but hardly worthy of the adoration.

I've always thought they got lucky purely by being in at the beginning of modern pop.

John Lennon and George Harrison were way better as solo acts and even Paul McCartney and Wings were an improvement.

I like traditional British seaside towns - arcades, funfairs, donkeys and all the tackiness that goes with that.

I love The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Selling Sunset and Below Deck (Med & Sailing Yacht).
I would much rather stay at home watching movies and eating chocolate than go to the theatre.
I love a take out - McDonalds, Domino's, Fish & chips, Chinese etc.
I'd much rather eat at Pizza Express than a fancy restaurant.
We love going on holiday to Orlando / Disneyworld (not that we can afford to do it regularly but on the 2 occasions we've been, we had an amazing time!).

I love tacky seaside too, every couple of weeks I take the child and the dog to Filey on the train for the day and we love it.
If I was to get married, I want it to be in Vegas in the Elvis chapel.
I also wear supermarket clothes, Shoezone shoes and Wilko makeup.

I will get flamed for this, but given how popular Cadburys is on this thread - I really don't like Cadburys. It doesn't taste chocolatey enough for me.

Milk chocolate is better than dark chocolate. That is just a fact.

I love the buffet at all inclusive hotels- I like that I can take just a little bit of anything on the menu that I like the look of, even no-one would usually put them together. I also like that I if I want to I can just have a small amount of savoury food and loads of puddings.

My absolutely favourite breakfast is coco pops with cheerios. Sometimes it's my favourite lunch too. I may sprinkle chia seeds on top (for added nutrition).

I'd rather pour a glass of coke zero in a glass and enjoy with food than a glass of wine/alcohol and pretend I enjoy it to fit in the "cultured" crowd. I see no difference between drinking 3 glasses/bottles of wine and 3 glasses/bottles of coke.

One is the acceptable, overrated pretentious mess that tastes like nail varnish remover and grapes. The other goes with most food and doesn't make you act like a buffoon afterwards.

every now and then I take myself off at lunchtime to McDonald’s for a hamburger and chips. It’s the best lunch. Terribly uncultured but then so am I.
I also love Korean instant noodles if I’m in the office, always have a pack in my bag for emergencies.
I hate all soaps, they are depressing as shit (I did used to watch eastenders and coronation street).
Stephen Fry is a massive egotistical tosser.

I still order chips with my Chinese takeaway despite my husband calling me a commoner.

I am often nostalgic about childhood party food like cheap waxy Cheddar and pickled onions on cocktails sticks. Give me that crap over a grazing platter of crudités any day…

I love chain restaurants
I love motorway service stations
I love Wetherspoons
I love Prosecco
I love spa days
I love big shopping centres like Bluewater
I'd rather read sub-Gone Girl domestic noir thrillers than the classics
I have found that great cultural or historical landmarks are often underwhelming
