A thread for those of us who have less refined tastes.

No arguing please, like the unpopular opinions thread please respect the uncultured opinions.

I'll start;

Oscar nominated films are often boring and rubbish. I'd rather watch old episodes of Gavin and Stacey or Ghosts. (I'll make an exception for Titanic, the greatest film of all time)

It's sort of linked to that BigFishontheTelly but I think councils should be able to compulsory purchase town centre buildings from greedy landlords and shell companies who charge sky high rents that are unaffordable to most businesses.

If council compulsory purchased them, local businesses could be supported into regenerating our high streets.

I'm so glad a previous poster mentioned sitting down. I LOVE sitting down, I HATE musical theatre, and I don't actually believe anyone enjoys jazz. It's a cultural joke we all share, it's bad and some people pretend to like as part of the 'bit'.

I'd never go to a Michelin restaurant, I would hate most of the food there and it would be wasted on me. I also don't like wine, it tastes sour. I have a childish palate!

I love a tacky seaside town too. I used to love taking DS to Butlins when he was younger and I went to Benidorm a couple of years ago and had a right laugh.

Green pot noodles with buttered white bread to dip in it - god level food.
"arthouse" and "acclaimed" films are shit, give me zombies or sharks any day.
black and white films - and I include its a wonderful life - also shit.
Violent films like John Wick (1,2,3,4) are excellent.

"Artisan" eateries - wanky food served to wanky people, usually on a slate.
While British comedy has had some corkers - America now beats it.
Bronte, Shakespeare, Austen - mind-numbingly dull
Costume dramas - see also mind-numbingly dull
Musicals - I'd rather set myself on fire.

I prefer a old man's country pub to a wine or cocktail bar

Going shopping and seeing a show in London is my idea of hell

'It's A Wonderful Life' is on my list of the biggest pile of over-hyped shite ever viewed,

'The Artist' was quite good as an ironic swerve into B&W though but I'm not sure it really counts...

Theme parks with white knuckle rides beat museums and art galleries any day.

All inclusive holidays are great. When I'm on holiday I like to start drinking alcohol at lunchtime.
