I'm shocked but not surprised. This world is depressing and scary for women.

Can only agree. Someone will be along shortly to tell us how unfair we are to men and that women regularly murder their entire families too. I'm just sick of all of it

Frederik33 · 07/02/2023 11:22

So sad, the lady was cut down in her prime. My heart breaks for the little girl she looks just perfect. I will light a candle for both of them tonight.

CaveMum · 07/02/2023 11:24

Sadly this was always the most likely explanation. I don't think I have ever heard of a "family annihilation" perpetrated by a woman.

AdamRyan · 07/02/2023 11:24

Wonder if the "why would you assume it's a man?/speculation is bad as NAMALT" posters are going to apologise now for how rude some of them were on threads yesterday.
I doubt it.

RIP Emma and Lettie Sad

StillWeRise · 07/02/2023 11:27

as we thought
so so sad
and so angry- I really wonder if there have been missed opportunities here
I also feel so sorry for the school community, imagine losing a colleague like that and trying to help the pupils at the same time

WhenYouWalkThroughTheGarden · 07/02/2023 11:29

Such a fucking waste. That little girl. That inspirational woman. All gone because of him. So angry. Just why.

bookworm14 · 07/02/2023 11:30

Of course it fucking was. We all knew it would be. Why can’t these pathetic, inadequate little men just kill themselves and leave their wives and kids alone? The answer is of course because they see them as possessions rather than as human beings with agency.

I have a seven-year-old daughter and am incandescent with rage at the fear that little girl must have felt. I suppose we have to hope she was asleep when he did it.

LetsGoDoDoDo · 07/02/2023 11:31

I struggle to comprehend how somebody could commit such an act. A monster and a coward.

RIP Emma and Lettie 🕯

BringMeTea · 07/02/2023 11:31

Yes, another deeply inadequate man. A monster. RIP Emma and Lettie.

UrsulaPandress · 07/02/2023 11:32

No surprise. But unutterably sad.

This.

MontyK · 07/02/2023 11:35

No doubt had some kind of inferiority complex given how successful his wife was. I can't bare to look at his smarmy face.

What an absolute waste of life

FlyingPandas · 07/02/2023 11:35

I think everyone knew that this was probably the most likely - if not the only - explanation. It is desperately horrific and sad.

As someone else has said, I just hope Emma and Lettie were both asleep at the time and died instantly without ever knowing what had actually happened.

Cadburysucks · 07/02/2023 11:36

It will be blamed on mental health no doubt, but he deliberately killed his daughter and wife and turned the gun on himself, he knew what he was doing. Murderer.

Doesn't sound like it unfortunately, she made a distressed call to a relative who drove over but they were dead when the relative got there.

BlusteryLake · 07/02/2023 11:37

A woman who is the leading light of the family and whose job dictates where they live is murdered for her success and her beautiful little girl is collateral damage. Instead of being an inspiration for many years to come, some inadequate arsehole wipes all that out in an instant. I hope not one single person starts making excuses for him.

Pigeonchested · 07/02/2023 11:37

Have they come out & said what happened yet? I hadn’t heard anything further than the basic news reports.

Lentilweaver · 07/02/2023 11:38

Yesterday all the MRAs were out in full force saying Emma did it. Today they will no doubt blame it in mental health. Ignoring that millions of women manage to not kill their children, despite poor MH

I really hate men today.

Clawdy · 07/02/2023 11:38

Sadly, she'd made a distressed call to a family member. They arrived at the house, but it was too late.

Quite.

My teen dd has been really upset and frightened by this and I don't blame her. What an arrogant, pathetic, cowardly twat.

Clawdy · 07/02/2023 11:39

Crossed post, sorry.

It’s a terrible thing to happen to that family but I disagree that the world is depressing and scary for women.

i certainly don’t feel that way and neither does any female in my family or friends.
