I've really fancied trying these Bueno eggs, finally saw them in Tesco and nearly collapsed in shock at the price. £2.75!! For a few tiny little eggs. I think not. The delights of the Bueno egg will remain a mystery to me.

What have you seen lately that's ridiculously overpriced? I know everything but maybe like the little treats you might have bought that are now so out of budget that you won't buy them even if you can afford too.

A woman selling a pair of used Debenhams Red Herring jeans from 2008 for £30 on Marketplace 🤯🤯🤯

Mayalinaballerina · 01/02/2023 22:04

A roll of wrapping paper in paperchase at £9. I am not surprised they are in trouble!

LadyChamberlain · 01/02/2023 22:08

A girls summer dress from matalan on ebay, nothing hugely special. Bids starting at £11, £2 postage.

Herecomesthesun1976 · 01/02/2023 22:08

Small jar (230g) of Bisto Best. £4 in Tesco yesterday! Unbelievable!

I don't go on eBay at all anymore. The only bargains to be had seem to be my stuff when I'm selling something Confused

The cost of swimwear. Barely any options my size, all ugly as hell and cost around £50

ThreeRingCircus · 01/02/2023 22:15

The large tubs of branded yoghurt (Onken I think?) were £5.50 in Tesco yesterday!

TheFormidableMrsC · 01/02/2023 22:17

A tiny little plain notebook in Paperchase today. It was £9! I couldn't believe it! No wonder they've gone under.

RiderOfTheBlue · 01/02/2023 22:19

I saw a photo on FB earlier of a supermarket shelf. HP sauce £4.10 😮

otherwayup · 01/02/2023 22:19

Those little fresh pizza express pizzas, £5.50 now in Sainsbury's!!!
They're not even full size 😳

MaggieMagpie357 · 01/02/2023 22:20

A hotel room in Liverpool during Eurovision weekend. Over £22k!!!!!!!

icclemunchy · 01/02/2023 22:21

Genius gluten free bread. £4.50 and its not even half the size of a normal loaf.

Yay for coeliacs 🙄

Hollyhocksandtulips · 01/02/2023 22:22

£1.10 for a REDUCED dented tin of Heinz soup. £1.70 full
Price.

That gluten free bread is terrible. I'm sorry to read that as you're not awash with options there.

Had a bit of a chuckle about Paperchase earlier in the week - few years ago they allowed themselves to be bullied by left wing fascists like Owen Jones into withdrawing advertising from the DM (and I have no real regard for that particular rag)

As the saying goes "go woke, go broke"

MrsRinaDecker · 01/02/2023 22:23

Not a treat, but £9 for a regular size bag of cat litter! Same bag was £7 two weeks ago..
Heinz beans on ‘offer’ £1.20 down to £1, you used to get two for that when they were on special or pack of four for £2.

What a load or irrelevant bollocks.

buonnatale · 01/02/2023 22:26

£4 for a standard size jar of beef 'Bisto Best' gravy granules on Tesco groceries online... Shock

Theimpossiblegirl · 01/02/2023 22:29

£3.95 for a tiny bottle of Heinz ketchup in co-op. I used to say ketchup and beans were never going to be something I'd buy own brand, but not any more.
Their own brand was £1 and tastes fine.

Feels more like 'vote Tory, go broke' to me.

FayKnights · 01/02/2023 22:36

Marmite!! Bloody marmite £4!!!!

GoldenCagedBird · 01/02/2023 22:40

Co op fresh pizzas. Nearly £7 near me.

They used to be a nice thing to have in the fridge for when it was just me and I didn’t really want to order a takeaway.

Now I’d much rather order from the amazing local place, support a small business and not have any washing up or the risk of burning it.

I used to buy everything on ebay second hand I cant afford the prices now - I'm finding charity shops even vinted quite expensive too.

What I was shocked at when trying to find a cheaper alternative to next was a 5 pack of boys joggers from asda are £24...I'm sure you could pick them up for around £15 from asda a few years ago. 😪

Fellsbluemist · 01/02/2023 22:41

At least marmite lasts a long time. I was stopped in my tracks recently by the £1.70 Heinz tomato soup a pp mentioned A tin of soup! No longer a cheap quick lunch.

WetLettuce2 · 01/02/2023 22:46

Smallest pizza, cheapest drink & a dessert for 3 at Pizza Hut - £70 !

We didn’t even have a waitress, we had to order it with an app.

And it was chilly in there 😞
