On TalkTV this evening Boris Johnson claimed the UK wouldn't have been able to approve the Covid-19 vaccines as quickly as it did without Brexit.

This is misleading.

"Misleading" 🙄

I don't understand why any decent programme maker wouldn't intervene when bare faced lies are told - but then it's owned by Murdoch and run by Rebekah Brooks.

My DD said something rather astute about misleading in respect of Boris misleading parliament. Which was. "he can't have mislead parliament, because they all knew he has lying".

borntobequiet · 04/02/2023 07:57

But her unredacted emails were accidentally published on social media by the BBC, revealing her identity. She was stripped of her FCDO security clearance and later sacked because without it she was unable to do her job.

This bit leapt out at me. “Accidentally”.

Roussette · 04/02/2023 08:27

@jgw1 Your DD has perception, she is right

I cannot believe Johnson is spouting off about Ukraine should be able to join the EU. And pulling us out. He is becoming dangerous.

What if they need a vaccine rollout? Does he not care about their sovereignity?

Notonthestairs · 04/02/2023 08:30

I'm irritated by use of the word misleading. It tiptoes around indicating the speaker was misinformed or lying.
If the politician was misinformed then correct their understanding, if they were lying then bloody sack them.

It is astonishing that the BBC "accidentally" published Josie Stewart name - you'd think that with such an important story they would have triple checked before publishing.

She certainly highlights how lazy or disinterested Raab was over Afghanistan until it became clear voters were interested in what was happening or rather not happening.

Simon Case always seems to be getting his hands dirty on their behalf - I wonder what role he might be offered once he's pushed out of the Civil Service.

God, not back to the Palace surely... that's where he came from. He was William's Private Secretary during the Meghan/Harry debacle, not sure he helped. He was implicated in partygate but refused to resign.

Notonthestairs · 04/02/2023 09:55

I had no idea Simon Case worked for the palace! His name crops up time and again - often as the gatekeeper to key information.

We need a new thread soon, title suggestions please.
