Following on from the above post from 80s on the last thread, I don't understand why Gavin thought that as a backbencher he had special rights to being at the monarch's funeral just because he has the fancy pants 'Privy Councillor' title.
According to good old Wiki there are 743 of them. They're like mice, increasing all over the place. Loads of them are politicians who aren't currently in the Cabinet, like Gavin was then. Wendy Morton was right in saying that they couldn't all go.
So to understand this, is it that Gavin was saying that he was special because he had dirt on everyone? And that made him specially important? But he says 'we', like he's talking on behalf of others. Who is this group? Him and another (ex) whip(s)?
I'd love to know.
