Tory blah blah blah once again. They couldn't give a damn. They're intent on privatising the NHS though, they'll certainly deliver on that. Filthy scummy swine.

DuncinToffee · 23/01/2023 13:03

Yep and they will be spending all their time on defending Zahawi and Johnson instead of talking to the unions.

And we are back onto the pot plants again

NEW: No 10 says Rishi Sunak was not aware that Nadhim Zahawi had paid a penalty to HMRC when he claimed he had “addressed the matter in full” at PMQs last week.

PM was also assured by officials when he appointed him Tory chair that there were “no outstanding issues”.

No 10 says ethics advisor has been asked to look at potential breaches of ministerial code in relation to Zahawi’s declarations - but says they’re not being “prescriptive” so investigation could also cover lying to media, legal threats, Cameron WhatsApps & time as chancellor.

Sunak should have fired him straight away. I feel he's lost whatever little credibility he had left, what exactly is the point of these people?

Fuck knows. They’re neither use nor ornament.

Notonthestairs · 23/01/2023 14:12

Of course he did...

BREAKING: @TheNewsAgents has learnt that Richard Sharp was the first BBC chairman ever to sit on the selection panel for the Director of News. Mr Sharp, who had donated £400k to Conservative Party, was appointing person charged with guaranteeing impartiality of BBC News

And here is the next one

Tory health minister has substantial financial stake in private health screening and Covid testing firm - raising questions about potential conflict of interest

current inquiries:

  • ethics adviser into Zahawi
  • independent KC into Raab
  • privileges committee into Johnson
  • BBC internal probe into chairman Sharp
OP posts:
TokyoSushi · 23/01/2023 15:57

Prediction: Zahawi & Sharp will both go, likely by the end of this week. Zahawi first and then Sharp a bit later.

I expect they will somehow manage to sweep the Raab bullying under the carpet and whatever happens at the privileges committee, Johnson will carry merrily on his way with absolutely no consequences leaving a trail of chaos in his wake as usual. Jolly old Boris, didn't mean any harm.

Longer prediction, the Tories will get hammered like we've never seen before at the next election - it can't come soon enough!

FFS it really shouldn't be that difficult to transfer from paediatric care to adult care. I hope you can get that resolved soon Itsgettingweird.

You'd think it really shouldn't be hard for someone with a rare neurological condition (that's degenerative) to at least be seen by a adult neurologist to discuss plans for the rest of his life. Even if they say "see you in 2 years".

Right now I can't even get in for them to assess him.

DuncinToffee · 23/01/2023 16:14

Oh FFS

The process used to appoint BBC chairman Richard Sharp will be reviewed - Commissioner of Public Appointments William Shawcross.

It sounds dreadful @itsgettingweird. If you lived in many other places writing to your MP might get things moving but knowing who your’s is, that would be a pointless exercise.

DuncinToffee · 23/01/2023 16:15

And I am angry on your behalf too itsgettingweird your DS deserves better.

pointythings · 23/01/2023 17:22

It's all appalling. DD2 finally has an endocrinology appointment at the hospital - 9 months waiting. The one relating to her hypermobility issues took 7 months. We're also waiting on a Cardiology referral.

Chevyimpala67 · 23/01/2023 17:25

I'm so sorry @itsgettingweird

I don't know what to say

Mum has actually just been invited for a copd appointment with the copd nurse...First since pre covid

L1ttledrummergirl · 23/01/2023 17:55

My sibling was supposed to have an urgent operation to close a hernia in the lung following their hospital admission in November. They still haven't been called for a preop review, several referrals have been returned to the GP and it doesn't look as though they will have the operation anytime soon.

In the meantime they are bedridden, needing inhalers and oxygen as their oxygen level drops to 65 ish and the fear is that they will suffocate in the night.

Meantime, instead of fixing the problems in the NHS, the government is happy for people to die so they can steal from us. It's fucking shit.

@itsgettingweird I hope something gets sorted for you soon.Flowers

itsgettingweird · 23/01/2023 20:11

Littledrummer that is horrendous. I'm so sorry.

Ds situation is an absolute PItA but at least it isn't life threatening.

L1ttledrummergirl · 23/01/2023 20:26

It's crap. We go between sibling will hear soon, and sibling is going to die first. Right now there is nothing we can do except care for them, love them and chase the GP to chase the hospital.

In the meantime the government who actually could do something if they gave a shit are a total waste of space. People are dying due to their mismanagement.

Roussette · 23/01/2023 20:30

So sorry L1ttleDrummerGirl, it sounds like hell to live through.

And to everyone else on here suffering because of this inept Government. Flowers

Just heard this on the news.

They said some ministers are concerned it'll "discriminate against men".

Think that's the real crux of it Angry
