Nadine was talking on LBC to Rachel Johnson. Nadine thinks there should be a General Election because Rishi doesn't have a mandate!

Notonthestairs · 23/10/2022 23:21

Turned my phone off for the evening.
Well, what a turn up Grin

It's going to be musical chairs again with cabinet positions first. Hope to see the back of Rees Mogg, Coffey, Gullis and fear Braverman will be back.
Will Hunt stay in place?

If Rees Mogg is relegated to the back benches I shall cheer. Self serving leech. Same for Coffey and Gullis.

Hunt has done a good job of steadying the markets though I never had much time for him previously.

Braverman is a worry, I suspect she may have been bought off with the promise of a place in the cabinet. Ditto Badenoch.

Nadine was talking on LBC to Rachel Johnson. Nadine thinks there should be a General Election because Rishi doesn't have a mandate!

She followed that by tweeting

Boris would have won members vote - already had a mandate from the people. Rishi and Penny, despite requests from Boris refused to unite which would have made governing utterly impossible.
Penny actually asked him to step aside for her. It will now be impossible to avoid a GE.

He's a liar and never had anywhere near 100 supporters. I've been to a gig this evening and the news has made my day.

ClaudineClare · 23/10/2022 23:56

He flew back all that way just to have his arse handed to him. It is sweeeet.

Big Dog fucks off!!!!!

Excellent news.

itsgettingweird · 24/10/2022 03:43

Johnson really does have a sense of inflated ego.

"I'd have had the support"
"I'm the one with the mandate"
"I wanted to unite the party but it's clear Sunak and Mourdant don't want that".

Obviously nothing to do with the fact the party don't want a lying liability in charge again.

the80sweregreat · 24/10/2022 05:40

The daily Mail are going with Rishi sunak as the new PM

itsgettingweird · 24/10/2022 05:44

It has to be.

I'd rather a GE but as that will happen over the Tory's dead bodies the next choice is someone who actually understands economics.

I won't like what he's going to do but I would like the country being bankrupt less!

the80sweregreat · 24/10/2022 05:54

I feel it's true what I read in the Guardian in the comments page a while ago , we will get to where Liz Truss wanted us to be with Rishi sunak only he'll go about it the long way round.
I kind of understand this.
I wonder which job he'll give Boris Johnson?

ClaudineClare · 24/10/2022 07:25

I hope he makes Johnson Minister of Fuck All.

Piggywaspushed · 24/10/2022 07:39

Chap who knows Johnson well on BBC just now talking about his absolute narcissism. Analysed the arrogance of his statement and very tellingly said Boris will not be that bothered because he finds it so easy to blame everyone else. Doesn't believe at all that he had 100 MPs. Yet more evidence of how easily lies come to him.

Didn't catch his name but he appeared to be a friend!

the80sweregreat · 24/10/2022 07:43

With friends like this , who needs enemies eh ?

InMySpareTime · 24/10/2022 07:46

Either Johnson has a personal mandate so once he left there needed to be a GE.

Or we elect the party so any majority party leader is the PM.

They can't run both arguments.

Cornettoninja · 24/10/2022 07:53

@Piggywaspushed he was something to do with communications I think. He was pretty damningly honest.

Glimmers of hope that this kind of appalling dishonest ego doesn’t belong in UK politics?

(I want to hear how JRM is going to spin this. Hope nanny had some warm milk and a story ready for him at bedtime yesterday).

Cornettoninja · 24/10/2022 07:53

ClaudineClare · 24/10/2022 07:25

I hope he makes Johnson Minister of Fuck All.

I think that’s the brexit opportunities position isn’t it?

DuncinToffee · 24/10/2022 08:14

Piggy was he on R4? If so it, his name is Guy Hands

OP posts:
DuncinToffee · 24/10/2022 08:15

His warning about the economy

Billionaire banker and former president of the Oxford University Conservative association, Guy Hands, tells #r4today that the Conservative Party and Brexit is turning Britain into the "sick man of Europe" with a "doomed" economy that will eventually need bailing out by the IMF.
Guy Hands says that if the Conservatives "own up to the mistake they made" and pick a leader with "the intellectual capability and the authority to renegotiate Brexit, there is a possibility of turning around the economy, but without that the economy is frankly doomed."

PatChaunceysFruitCake · 24/10/2022 08:20

We know Johnson is the turd that won't flush. I suspect he will be back in the cabinet this week. That's why he's back, he has no shame.
