Anyone else totally wiped out by Covid jabs?

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 21/10/2022 09:11

Had my 4th on Monday.

Still got temperature, headache, wobbly legs.
The other 3 put me out of action for a week each time, as this probably will.

Yet when l had Covid l felt crap for a day. No temperature, no wobbliness.

But each jab seems to destroy me😟

Yes, I am. Sorry you're feeling rough. Hope it passes soon Flowers

I had actual covid in December 2019 (felt terrible, and I do mean absolutely horrendous for about 10 days). Covid jabs x 3 have all made me feel just as bad as the original covid did - although only for 48 hours each time.
This is the main reason why I'll most likely not have any more covid jabs now.

dontgobaconmyheart · 21/10/2022 09:32

Yes same, rubbish isn't it and it makes it difficult to motivate myself to get them as I know what I'm in for.

Each time I've been out for the count for the best part of a week with symptoms of fever, viral rashes, fatigue, sickness, whacking great headaches and a very sore body and arm.

I'm immunocompromised so do feel I should get them ( also feel fortunate we have the opportunity) and will most likely get the one I've just been invited for but I'll practically have to drag myself there and make it a time when my calendar is clear in the aftermath.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 21/10/2022 09:36

Yeah, l tried to find a clear spot in my calendar to be ill for a week.

Its impossible though, and as it’s 1/2 term next week, I’m was hoping to be OK for that.

First one wiped me out for a day, second was fine, third made me a bit spaced out for a couple of days and the fourth wiped me out for two days and the unwell feeling has been coming and going for a few weeks.

Anydaynowonewouldhope · 21/10/2022 09:43

My period was delayed for two weeks after my fourth!

Boxshibe · 21/10/2022 09:54

I've got my 4th this afternoon and now I'm concerned I don't fancy being ill all weekend.

SnowFir · 21/10/2022 10:09

I had the flu and covid jabs on Monday (50+) and yes I did feel a bit ropey for 2 days but fine by day 3. Well worth it

Sagittariusrising · 21/10/2022 10:24

I got the Pfizer jab on Wednesday and felt fine apart from the sore arm. Colleagues and my mum who've had Moderna all report feeling really awful for a couple of days though so I wonder whether which jab you have is also a factor.

elephantseal · 21/10/2022 10:25

Nope. Had four, no reaction to any apart from a sore arm for a day.

MinnieMountain · 21/10/2022 10:25

I felt awful after all 3 and awful when I got Covid. I’m not bothering if I’m offered another one.

elephantseal · 21/10/2022 10:27

And I had Moderna this time. Plus the flu jab at the same. No reaction at all.

I wonder if people being hysterical about reactions has a self-fulfilling aspect to it? You expect side effects so you notice them more?

notanothernamechangemother · 21/10/2022 10:31

Oh no, I should not have read this thread! I've just had a 3rd covid jab. Hope I will be ok for the weekend 🤦‍♀️

elephantseal · 21/10/2022 10:37

And people who have had bad reactions are more likely to reply to this thread, so you will get an unrealistic picture of numbers...

Bramblejoos · 21/10/2022 10:39

I had no reactions really - sore arms (covid and flu jab) and was possibly a bit more tired but that's all but that might have been due to having been busier than usual.

Kabbalah · 21/10/2022 10:39

Just don't have the flu jab at the same time. Ask me how I know. 😑

12roundsofwhitelowfatspread · 21/10/2022 10:39

I had reactions to the first 3 jabs, and felt pretty dreadful with Covid, but have had almost no side effects from the 4th jab this week (and had the flu one at the same time).

Lindy2 · 21/10/2022 10:44

I was rough for 24 hours. I have been with all of them.

With Covid, pre vaccination roll out, I was rough for 3 weeks and not back to normal for several months.

I'll continue to have any recommended jabs.

Empra123 · 21/10/2022 11:09

Had them yesterday and just feel really wiped out today. 92 year old mother who also had both jabs yesterday is fine (and unsympathetic!)

Cherrytree77 · 21/10/2022 11:20

Please remember that the reason you sailed through Covid was BECAUSE of the jabs.

I never had any effects from the previous three but this one I was exhausted and still feel a bit nauseous a few days on. I would take this happily than risk serious illness with Covid having watched friends family and colleagues suffer greatly.

God l wish😭

l felt ok day after, which isn’t how the others played out. With the others l was I’ll within 6 hours.

So l started cleaning the kitchen, and couldn’t understand why l felt exhausted and wobbly.

Next day l went kitchen shopping with ds. Couldn’t stop shaking and pouring with sweat.

l’m not sure l would make this up. It’s hateful.

Had mine a month ago. I just had an aching arm and I had the flu jab at the same time. I was absolutely fine, not everyone has a bad reaction.

ClaraThePigeon · 21/10/2022 11:31

Not necessarily. I mean they can certainly help but I've had 3 and still felt like shit every time, including last week when I got Covid for the 4th time,

An elderly relative who is CEV and has numerous health conditions including diabetes, heart and lung issues and is on oxygen felt only slightly tired and that was before vaccinations. Another had a very slight headache for 2 days and that was it. I've known others who were barely affected.(Lucky sods)

It's very individual. I didn't have any trouble with the vaccinations apart from my 2nd when I struggled to use my arm for anything for a few days but it really does makes others very ill. I don't think it's fair to others to suggest that they're hysterical because they have a harder time of side effects.

ClaraThePigeon · 21/10/2022 11:31

With.

Bonjovispjs · 21/10/2022 12:47

Had my 4th jab on Wednesday. Never had any reaction to any of them other than a slightly sore arm which I expected, but I consider myself lucky considering some of the things I've read about how other people have suffered 😬

FourChimneys · 21/10/2022 12:56

I'm immunosuppressed. I had the booster and the flu jab last Friday. Did a load of gardening on Saturday, did a 12 mile hilly walk on Sunday.

Just for balance, not everyone is badly affected.
