Anyone else totally wiped out by Covid jabs?

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 21/10/2022 09:11

Had my 4th on Monday.

Still got temperature, headache, wobbly legs.
The other 3 put me out of action for a week each time, as this probably will.

Yet when l had Covid l felt crap for a day. No temperature, no wobbliness.

But each jab seems to destroy me😟

I have never in my life been as sick as I was after this booster. Full flu symptoms - chills, fever, aches, crazy dreams, dizzy, couldn’t walk in a straight line. It has been absolutely awful. I’ve told all my friends with kids that I will be on standby the days after their booster if they need help with the kids.

Ccoffee · 21/10/2022 13:14

I've had 3 with no reaction, off to get my 4th on Sunday. Do feel for those who react badly.

I got the Pfizer jab on Wednesday and felt fine apart from the sore arm. Colleagues and my mum who've had Moderna all report feeling really awful for a couple of days though so I wonder whether which jab you have is also a factor.

Yes. I had moderna and felt dodgy for 2 days. Don't remember any issues with pfizer. Astra zeneca felt unwell for one day

First 2 were Astra zeneca and I felt off for about 3 days, last I felt tired for one day. I had covid first wave and was ill for months.

ZimZamZoom · 21/10/2022 09:25

Yes, I am. Sorry you're feeling rough. Hope it passes soon Flowers

I had actual covid in December 2019 (felt terrible, and I do mean absolutely horrendous for about 10 days). Covid jabs x 3 have all made me feel just as bad as the original covid did - although only for 48 hours each time.
This is the main reason why I'll most likely not have any more covid jabs now.

Exactly the same here, I had it in March 2020 felt horrendous and lost a stone in 10 days. Have felt crap with each jab.

mamabear715 · 21/10/2022 13:51

Just had my 4th. (Pfizer.) Woke in the night aching all over & teeth chattering. Napped the next day, then ok. DD has pain in her armpit (had jab at same time.) We both had the flu jab too. Gluttons for punishment.
I've had the same kind of reaction to them all, but the first.. OMG. TEN DAYS, I felt ill for. (AZ)

AuntieMarys · 21/10/2022 14:06

Had Pfizer and flu jab yesterday...feel OK apart from a sore arm. I deliberately planned nothing for today, so am vegging watching netflix and relaxing

AutumnCrow · 21/10/2022 14:08

I've had 6.

The sixth was a Pfizer and it was better than the previous Moderna.

The ones previous to that, Pfizer and AZ, were ok too. No worse than flu jabs anyway.

Scianel · 21/10/2022 14:14

If you're reacting worse to the jabs than the actual disease there's quite a simple solution...

error in my original post - I had it in December 2020 (not December 2019) as in, I had it a couple of months before the jabs were released

Cherrytree77 · 21/10/2022 11:20

Please remember that the reason you sailed through Covid was BECAUSE of the jabs.

I never had any effects from the previous three but this one I was exhausted and still feel a bit nauseous a few days on. I would take this happily than risk serious illness with Covid having watched friends family and colleagues suffer greatly.

This.

I lost a full day to number 1 - just slept and shivered all day. Not too bad after numbers 2 and 3, though 3 left me with a persistent itchy rash on my arm.

Had number 4 on Tuesday and woke up in the night shivering. Temperature still high and heart racing, in the morning, until almost exactly 34 hours from the Jab. Limbs like lead for the rest of the day and an horrific brain fog, though, which was annoying because I had a serious issue to sort out for one of the boys, plus a TAF meeting to be coherent for. Still not great. Arm still sore and weak and my usual afternoon slump is exaggerated. Have just had to wash some paracetamol down with a bucket of herbal tea because I'm exhausted and headachy after a brief jaunt to the shops for some bread and fresh fruit and veg.

But it is worth it for the time I had covid to have been about the same, just with added snot.

PickAChew · 21/10/2022 16:59

24 hours.

I declined the flu jab on Tuesday because that buggers up my joints for a week.

CaptaNoctem · 21/10/2022 17:01

I was in bed for 2 days after the first one.

Each one since has been OK and I had the 4th last week with minimal side effects

Won't be having a flu jab again though ever!

OneDayAtATimePlease · 21/10/2022 17:12

Fine off Astra Zeneca (1 & 2)

Thought Moderna was going to kill me (3) ended up in A&E and had to yellow card my reaction.

Was told 4th would be Pfizer, took a chance. Wish I hadn't. Can't move without feeling faint/nauseous, in horrendous pain and high temperature.

Never again!

Floralnomad · 21/10/2022 17:17

I had absolutely no reaction at all with the first 3 ( Pfizer) , had Moderna for my spring booster and felt crap for about 24 hrs . Had my flu jab yesterday and feel really crap today and have had to double my steroids ( Addison’s disease) which is something I very rarely have to do .

nokitchen · 21/10/2022 19:32

Had Pfizer and the flu jab at the same time earlier in the week. Had a bit of shivering for an hour the next day but apart from that fine.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 21/10/2022 19:41

A few people that I know have been complaining quite loudly about feeling unwell after the Moderna booster, more people haven’t said a word which i assume means that they’ve not suffered too much.

I think this thread gives a pretty one sided view.

I had the booster and flu jab on the same day. My covid arm was sore for a couple of days, that was it.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 21/10/2022 19:50

Like a previous poster I’ve only had two (Pfizer) and they both made me so unwell that I haven’t had a third because I can’t find the time in my diary to be sick for a week.

I’m still a Covid hermit who barely goes out.

JanetSally · 21/10/2022 19:51

elephantseal · 21/10/2022 10:37

And people who have had bad reactions are more likely to reply to this thread, so you will get an unrealistic picture of numbers...

I agree. The vast majority of people I know, including me, have had no or minor ie sore arm effects.
Threads like this are irresponsible and could put people off having an important vaccine.

SnowFir · 21/10/2022 19:52

elephantseal · 21/10/2022 10:27

And I had Moderna this time. Plus the flu jab at the same. No reaction at all.

I wonder if people being hysterical about reactions has a self-fulfilling aspect to it? You expect side effects so you notice them more?

No, you were just lucky. Having vaccine side effects isn't hysterical.

Tgeres always one who has to twist it isn’t there?🙄

OP posts:
Notimetothink · 21/10/2022 19:55

I’ve already decided not to have any more. The vaccines have been worse then the disease for me. If a horrendous strain develops I’ll have a booster, but not until then.

Notimetothink · 21/10/2022 19:55

I'm not twisting anything. Threads like this give a one sided impression and could put off anyone nervous about having vaccination. It's irresponsible.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 21/10/2022 19:57

Yeah ok.
