Anyone else totally wiped out by Covid jabs?

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 21/10/2022 09:11

Had my 4th on Monday.

Still got temperature, headache, wobbly legs.
The other 3 put me out of action for a week each time, as this probably will.

Yet when l had Covid l felt crap for a day. No temperature, no wobbliness.

But each jab seems to destroy me😟

Had a night and day of feeling complete crap. Had flu and COVID at the same time.

I stupidly booked mine for Monday at the beginning of my working week so had the rest of the week to get through! Thankfully I felt much better after one rough day but I will never learn🤦‍♀️

Yeah ok.

Seriously, do you not see the harm you can do by starting threads like this?

XenoBitch · 21/10/2022 20:01

The only people I knew who were wiped out were those who had the flu jab at the same time.

I hope anyone still feeling rough feels better soon.

Not in the least.

People are capable of making their own decisions.

We had the first two AZ, third and fourth Pfizer. We had the fourth last week. DH complained of a really sore arm, whereas for me, it was nothing really - both done by the same pharmacist! However the next day, I felt too exhausted to walk up the stairs - it was like someone had sucked all the energy out of me!

OP is asking if anyone else has been wiped out by the jabs. People answer... probably with a sigh of relief that they are not alone, they have not had some really rare and freaky reaction, and also as a show of solidarity to other people dealing with the same.

Asking a question is not scaremongering.

A thread being answered mainly by people who have had side effects is going to put people off - people who could possibly get a far more serious dose of Covid by not having the vaccination.
Up to the OP, but she needs to ownbthe possible ramifications of her thread.

I had Moderna booster yesterday and feel absolutely fine, barely a sore bit where the needle went in. I haven't had a reaction to any of them, and this is my 4th. I had Astra Zeneca for the first 2 and Moderna for both boosters. I am surprised at so many having the flu jab at the same time as that is not being recommended in our area, which makes perfect sense to me. Too much all in one go.

Please remember that the reason you sailed through Covid was BECAUSE of the jabs.

Not necessarily. I mean they can certainly help but I've had 3 and still felt like shit every time, including last week when I got Covid for the 4th time,

An elderly relative who is CEV and has numerous health conditions including diabetes, heart and lung issues and is on oxygen felt only slightly tired and that was before vaccinations. Another had a very slight headache for 2 days and that was it. I've known others who were barely affected.(Lucky sods)

It's very individual. I didn't have any trouble with the vaccinations apart from my 2nd when I struggled to use my arm for anything for a few days but it really does makes others very ill. I don't think it's fair to others to suggest that they're hysterical because they have a harder time of side effects.

So your triple jabbed and have had covid 4 times Confused

ShakeYourFeathers · 21/10/2022 20:17

I had a flu jab on one day and 4th covid the next. I had a bad cold the following week, which was important to shake. It could well have been a cold I caught from someone but it was a bit of a coincidence.

So should no one discuss side effects at all? That seems rather sinister to me. Why hide the fact that some people struggle after getting jabbed? Why stifle discussion about it?

From what I can see on this thread, people not getting jabbed due to side effects, are making that choice because of their own personal experience with previous doses.. not that that of other people.

FFS, for those having a go, If we were jab averse, we wouldn't be posting on the bloody thread, would we?
As rubbish as I felt for 24 hours, it's a price worth paying to be hopefully protected. Stop being so holier than thou.

No one's being holier than thou. Don't be silly.

But there will be people who may be put off having the vaccination because of the distorted impression being given on this thread.

It's just not helpful at a time when as many people as possible should be having their
jab.

I sailed through covid without any jabs. So did DD. 🤔

What’s the recommended gap between covid / flu jabs in your area?

I’m NHS staff and out MVCs offer both at once to staff in our health board.

simbobs · 21/10/2022 21:09

I believe they are recommending a week between jabs.

MotherOfRatios · 21/10/2022 21:11

Yeah I've been ill had it Wednesday, heavy flu symptoms, I had the booster

I believe they are recommending a week between jabs.

I’d be interested to see what research that recommendation is based on.

Floralnomad · 21/10/2022 21:31

My husband had them both at the same time last weekend and he was perfectly ok .

LondonWolf · 21/10/2022 21:35

It's just not helpful at a time when as many people as possible should be having their jab.

It is manipulative and infantilising to tell others to be secretive about the side affects of a vaccination, in case someone make a decision you might not agree with around whether or not to have it. I'm really surprised anyone would suggest it's ok to withhold such information.

Anydaynowonewouldhope · 21/10/2022 09:43

My period was delayed for two weeks after my fourth!

What do you think the mechanism of action was that caused that?

My husband had a positive covid test, no symptoms.. Me and DD no symptoms. No jabs at all in this house.

Some people are just self-flagellating at this point.

LondonWolf · 21/10/2022 21:45

@mavismorpoth I agree with you. I've had all my jabs and third booster, as have my children. I'm not an anti vaxxer. I couldn't wait to have them! But now number four? When does it end? We've also had covid despite being vaccinated, and felt pretty rough with it. Seems standard according to this thread. I just don't get what happens now. Do we just keep on having vaccinations & still catching Covid - albeit apparently more mildly, forever?
