Rees-Mogg has confused flexible working/compressed hours with flexitime, hasn’t he? 🤦‍♀️

DuncinToffee · 08/08/2022 11:03

He is ok with his dear leader and chancellor working from holiday though

I haven't seen any signs of them working, have you?

Yes, he has. And this is coming from a man who refuses to have a computer on his desk Shock
Flexible working has been in for decades. It means that offices can be covered from 8am to 7pm.

My dearest wish is to see him out at the next GE. He is a rich relic who should not be in Government, especially as he dodges taxes by keeping his fortune in SCM in the Cayman Islands.

I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not jgw!😄

I am not, on this occasion.
Heck I'd even have Ken Clarke back as Chancellor.

the80sweregreat · 08/08/2022 11:18

I doubt that the people in North East Somerset will vote out JRM.
I'd love it if they did, but I really can't see it.

Rees haunted pencil Mogg really has no idea how the modern workplaces functions, does he. Fucker.

I suspect the Pencil doesn't know how nay workplace functions, modern or otherwise.

No, we just have their say so and some tweets.

Johnson's whereabouts seem unknown, no pictures of him painting.

They’ve lost bigger majorities than Rees Mogg’s in the last few months. He’s near Tiverton and the LibDems saw off a majority of 22k there, his is only 14k. If he lost his seat it would be a Portillo moment.

DuncinToffee · 08/08/2022 12:08

Truss is promising to review all EU laws by 2023, Sunak is now promising to do it all in 100 days

Every single trade and legal expert suggested Truss' promise was comically undoable, what will they say about Sunak.

Blossomtoes · 08/08/2022 12:12

He’s been kidnapped by the Truss fairies.

the80sweregreat · 08/08/2022 12:13

100 days. It's very ambitious and unworkable I would imagine ; it's around 2400 laws I believe?
He'll need a big team of people around him to get that done.

DuncinToffee · 08/08/2022 12:20

There is a video.......

And Janiie's favourite paper is reporting that the Johnson’s spend 4 days in a luxury hotel in Slovenia without wifi and bear on the menu.

Spokesman refuses refuses to say whether a Conservative donor paid fot it.

They also lost control to Lib Dems (yes I know it is a new council) in the local elections in that area.

Nonsense.

I could review them in 100 seconds.

What excellent well thought through pieces of legislation they are that allow us to seamlessly trade with our nearest and largest trading partners, lets keep them all to make life easier for everyone.

Oh, sorry not even 100 seconds.

jgw1 · 08/08/2022 12:28

DuncinToffee · 08/08/2022 12:20

Always read the small print.

"with the first set of recommendations published within my first 100 days."

So as long as they have a recommendation about one of them, eg lets keep it, within the first 100 days they will turn round and say they did what they said.

Surely a simple a question of which one.

Probably not Putin at a guess.

DuncinToffee · 08/08/2022 12:58

NEW: No10 says Boris Johnson will NOT intervene in cost-of-living crisis this summer. Spox says he won't make 'new fiscal interventions' before leaving and it's up to successor to make policy. It means there will be at least another month of inaction.

Notonthestairs · 08/08/2022 13:09

Well the party should have been honest with the nation and removed him altogether from office.
It's not good enough that he'll have spent the last 6 weeks of his term flying RAF jets, holding parties, going on holiday and creating an honours list.

I listened to Ken Clarke the other day and he sounded far more like a Labour shadow chancellor than a former Thatcherite one.

I doubt his views have shifted that much, but rather the Tory party has moved so far to the right that Thatcher may well not be a member.

AndreaC74 · 08/08/2022 13:57

@jgw1 Yes this is what i was trying to get through to someone on another thread who didn't like being called right wing - the Tory party has shifted, the centre has moved to the right.

Its not something people consider when they say "i'm a centralist" its got to be taken in context.

Which means that a donor/recipient of a fat government contract did pay, and threw in first class flights as well.
