the80sweregreat · 20/07/2022 17:19

Thanks

Piggywaspushed · 20/07/2022 17:19

Thanks!

Chillian · 20/07/2022 17:20

Thank heavens it’s not Penny!

Oblomov22 · 20/07/2022 17:21

Unfortunately Sunak me thinks. They are all awful. When's the next GE?

balalake · 20/07/2022 17:23

Please have some consideration for dogs. They are faithful and honest, unlike the worst Prime Minister of all time.

I'd like any resignation honours list to be blocked by Her Majesty.

Oblomov22 · 20/07/2022 17:23

Jan 25? We have to put up with this until then? Lord help us.

tobee · 20/07/2022 17:24

Thank you @Roussette

I do like an old book cover

Thanks @Roussette.

the80sweregreat · 20/07/2022 17:26

'Hasta la vista 'Alexander Johnson.
(Although I'm sure he will still hang around somewhere ! )

itsgettingweird · 20/07/2022 17:28

Just catching up with PMQs.

Johnson has literally admitted they are making strikes illegal and then said he's restoring democracy- does he even hear himself speak?

Also why are they allowed not to answer questions? He was asked numerous times about what new candidates are saying about the economy and he's blaming Labour.

They've been in power. And trying to blame covid that's only been 2/12 years if their rein is just ridiculous 🙄

(Copied as I posted on old thread!)

AnneKipankitoo · 20/07/2022 17:34

Thanks @Roussette .

NightJohnBoy · 20/07/2022 17:42

Truss 4/6 odds on with the bookies, Sunak 6/4.

Truss 4/6 odds on with the bookies, Sunak 6/4.

I don’t understand bookies’ odds. What does that mean?

NightJohnBoy · 20/07/2022 17:52

It means Truss is seen as much more likely to win, more than twice as likely.

Cornettoninja · 20/07/2022 17:54

@tobee just on your point at the end of the last thread, the earlier recommended C4 drama ‘the undeclared war’ touches on the newer ways social media is manipulated. Troll farms, bots - it’s interesting stuff.

I’ve read a few threads on Reddit about selling accounts that have a decent posting history to look legitimate. All social media accounts have a value if they have a history that makes them look like a real person. Mumsnet is a ridiculously easy target from that pov.

Blossomtoes · 20/07/2022 17:59

Thank you @NightJohnBoy. Hopefully the bookies are right, it’s almost like they want to lose the next election.

the80sweregreat · 20/07/2022 18:05

Why Truss?
Sunak would be so much better with the economy!
I can't bear the thought of listening to her for two years : she is so fake !!
I think they want to lose the next GE too , no other explanation really

L1ttledrummergirl · 20/07/2022 18:12

Thank you @Roussette your title was much more polite than mine would have been given they are both dreadful.
People are still having to vote for the least worst option.

NightJohnBoy · 20/07/2022 18:13

Sunaks the wrong colour which is worse than being the wrong gender!.
Truss is more pro Brexit which more of the Tory nutcases members will be.

Runnerbeansflower · 20/07/2022 18:13

I can only assume they believe their own lies...

DuncinToffee · 20/07/2022 18:14

Thanks for the new thread Roussette

So they know what a woman is when it comes to removing our health rights?

the80sweregreat · 20/07/2022 18:23

To think that Boris Johnson spent his entire political career wanting to be the PM ( well, King , but it's as good as ) and he threw it all away by lying. It is sad really , but not surprising
If Liz was known by her real name of Mary it would be Mrs M T : it's not a great omen despite my own username.
Two more years though , it's made me feel a bit depressed tbh :(

He built his career on lying to his convenience, and just shrugging it off, and all too many people thought it showed that he was a 'man of the people' at heart rather than an entitled, self-obsessed person who represents everything problematic about privileged elites.
