Does it research into why its members have no sense?

Notonthestairs · 15/06/2022 07:41

"Common Sense Research Group, guys."
It would be pretty good if they actually did research common sense.

As pointed out elsewhere the timing of the planned flight given impending by-election is interesting.

So Prime Minister, why did you try and send this flight just a week before 2 by elections?

Are you pleased that it was a European Court that blocked it?

It is working as a lovely distraction. What they dont want us to talk about -
the PM losing support of 148 Mps, the PM lying to Parliament, Privileges Committee investigation, NI protocol, fuel prices, cost of living, teacher retention (was that ever in the news?), Russian donors, NHS waiting lists, food production and farming issues and airport misery .

AmaryIlis · 15/06/2022 08:25

I wonder if the plane's gone anyway to pick up those 50 Rwandans we agreed to take as part of the deal?

Add to that the biggest fall in real wages, highest inflation and the £ crashing.

The "Common Sense Group" : maybe they're trying to find some Wink

PMQs later today, I really hope Starmer continues adressing the cost of living crisis.

Blossomtoes · 15/06/2022 11:45

If Starmer doesn’t roast Johnson today I give up. How long can this be allowed to carry on?

Peregrina · 15/06/2022 11:53

The Daily Mail/Heil of course is absolutely loving the Rwanda debacle.

DuncinToffee · 15/06/2022 11:58

PMQs is just theatre, what's the use if you can't call someone out over lying. Forensic boring Starmer getting on with it, eg cost of living etc, will do for me. I don't want a circus.

I’m certainly not defending Starmer but BJ and his cabinet are basically unroastable. They’ve faced down some times that would’ve seen previous governments and MP’s out on their ear.

They can’t be shamed and those that need to listen can’t be forced.

Cornettoninja · 15/06/2022 12:04

However, I do wish Starmer would pull him up on the employment figures he keeps spouting.

ClaudineClare · 15/06/2022 12:07

Totally off topic but Angela looks really sunburned, it must really sting.

Cornettoninja · 15/06/2022 12:11

Stand up straight and stop leaning you lazy oaf.

DuncinToffee · 15/06/2022 12:13

I am not watching but this is one way of calling someone a liar without calling him a liar

Didn’t see this one coming. Starmer: “As for his boasting about the economy, he thinks he can perform Jedi mind tricks on the country: These aren’t the droids you’re looking for. No rules were broken. The economy is booming. The problem is the force just isn’t with him any more.”

it’s an underrated art form isn’t it?

balalake · 15/06/2022 12:20

Sad to say that the country would have been better off if Covid had forced Mr Johnson to resign.

Cornettoninja · 15/06/2022 12:33

How do you mean @balalake? As in made him too ill to continue?

If certain sources are taken as trustworthy his illness was massively blown out of proportion and I have to say I don’t personally feel any kind of ‘sadness’ that the man might suffer in any kind of way any more. He’s shown us very clearly what he thinks of large swathes of the population, I don’t think he’s deserves expending the energy of empathy on.

PP - Rwanda has a good track record with asylum seekers…

apart from the ones they’re deporting us eh. How she can stand there and say ‘we won’t allow traffickers to treat people like human cargo’ with a straight smirk is gob smacking.

Modern slavery Shock

European Court of Human Rights granted injunctions for three of the seven migrants who were due to be removed to Rwanda last night, Priti Patel says

The remaining four migrants were removed from the flight after being granted injunctions by UK courts or on modern slavery grounds

Oh dear, Braverman

When asked by Montague whether Braverman can name a lawyer outside of the government who doesn’t think UK would be breaking international law with its proposals on NIP, Braverman cites Robert Buckland QC, the former Lord Chancellor and current Conservative MP.

Delighted to hear that the flight is not going.

Can we not just fill the plane with a whole bunch of Tories and send it anyway?

🤣🤣🤣🤣

All these threads in and this is the best solution yet Grin

Tbf to Braverman the fact she can name anyone that isn't her or Johnson is an achievement for her.

She's just so self centred and self serving
