Boris has been fined - Tory voters, should he go?

NewYorker80 · 12/04/2022 13:43

Both Johnson and Sunak have received fines for the lockdown parties. No further details as yet.

Do any Conservative voters here think Boris should resign?

I'm not sure any if the mocking of those you mention janiie include an intimation that they are a working class oick.

Piggywaspushed · 13/04/2022 17:53

Oik?

NETSRIK · 13/04/2022 17:53

@JaniieJones

'Does she refer to herself as 'Angie'? Not that I know of.'

Well Pippa Crerar and others do so I presume it's been ok'd?

I had no idea it's seen as rude. So, open season for mocking BJ, Truss, Carrie, Dorries etc but full and proper names for the opposition and mocking not allowed. Got it.

No. You stated that Boris was called a name that he hasn't been called on this thread. Probably to justify why you use Keith. Not a worry though, some posters often get mistaken about very obvious things on threads that are plain to see to the majority yet somehow they can't see the obvious.

@Blossomtoes

I call him Johnson - in the American sense.
I know I really shouldn't but that made me Grin

No idea? Really? Really ?

Johnson is called all the names under the sun on here, as are his ministers. They have the piss taken out of them repeatedly, his hair his dandruff whatever. Fine it's a chat forum and people can voice their opinions but in comparison calling someone 'Keith' would seen very very tame.

@Boofay

I did wonder what the trip to Kiev was really about.
Yes now we know
Notonthestairs · 13/04/2022 17:58

Lord Wolfson (Tory peer) has resigned over the scale of covid breeches- I suspect he knows what is coming.

'I'm not sure any if the mocking of those you mention janiie include an intimation that they are a working class oick.'

Working class oik? He is a Sir, a solicitor, was head of the CPS, he has a field. He is not working class. Just a bit wibbly and beige imo.

Anywayyyy. Back to PM Johnson,

Happygirl79 · 13/04/2022 18:02

He should go but obviously won't voluntarily
What really worries me is that if he does stay because no one stands up to him it gives the wrong message to our children. We are effectively saying lie, cheat, do whatever you please to get whatever you want in life. People don't care and there will be no serious consequences for you.

A very bad message indeed

That’s such a good point. On the upside, the longer he stays the better the chance of the Tories being kicked to oblivion at the next election. That’ll be a good lesson.
Piggywaspushed · 13/04/2022 18:05

Well clearly you don't know what your own name for him implies.

But yes , back to the PM.

BonnesVacances · 13/04/2022 18:08

Of course they should go! I can't believe it's even a question. What's the point of the ministerial code if it's ignored? Is it to be a free for all now in parliament?

HarrietPierce7 · 13/04/2022 18:13

JaniieJones

"Working class oik? He is a Sir, a solicitor, was head of the CPS, he has a field. He is not working class. "

Not now but his roots are working class.

He is the Justice Minister after all

“the scale, context and nature of those breaches mean that it would be inconsistent with the rule of law for that conduct to pass with constitutional impunity.”

Cornettoninja · 13/04/2022 18:25

Tame but still within the category of rude yes? Particularly within context.

I mean, knock yourself out, I’m not particularly fussed by infantile name calling personally, indulged in it myself and it can be a good stress relief. But this faux ignorant act you insist on pulling is tiresome, cheapens your point and is a waste of internet frankly.

He wasn't born a peer @JaniieJones, his family were working/lower-middle class.🤦‍♀️

I think he sends the opposite message. The world isn’t black and white but shades of grey. That is often another way. Honestly I don’t really want a by the book, rules is rules politician, if they can be more use doing it a different way. The best experiences in life from shopping to taxi drivers to teachers are the ones that see a bigger picture and are helpful rather than follow the rules obstructively.

He hasn’t lied and cheated to “get what he wants” as far as I can see . Any “lies” have been involved in doing the job of Prime Minister. I can’t see he’s had an amazing time if it, it’s been one shit storm after another - Covid, Ukraine, Gas prices, Global warming.

Notonthestairs · 13/04/2022 18:48

You'd have been very happy with Corbyn lying to the Queen and Parliament then @lightisnotwhite. Right you are.

ancientgran · 13/04/2022 18:49

@PartyPCN

What annoys me is how frickin inept and slow the Met seem to be over this, drip drip dripping the PCN's over weeks and making Sue Gray wait.

It's infuriating when we know the Abba PCN is round the corner, that they are giving Boris ample time to create another dead cat moment (possibly tragically Ukraine-related too).

I suppose they are spinning it out but to be honest I was impressed they had the balls to do it. I really thought it was going to be a cover up.
Blossomtoes · 13/04/2022 18:51

Sweet Jesus, the naïveté. He was lying at Eton @lightisnotwhite, what was his excuse then?

Peregrina · 13/04/2022 18:51

I can’t see he’s had an amazing time if it, it’s been one shit storm after another - Covid, Ukraine, Gas prices, Global warming.

Boo hoo. He can always stand down if it's too much like work.
Covid - he messed up, unless you kid yourself that he personally developed and distributed the vaccines.
Ukraine - he won't even have known where it was until the Photo Op presented itself.
Gas prices - what is he doing for the general public? Admittedly, that is more his Chancellor's remit, who is too wealthy to realise that they are causing people hardship.
Global warming - yes this is the man who takes a private jet to return from the COP summit, when there was a perfectly good Glasgow - London train service.

Happygirl79 · 13/04/2022 18:51

We will have to agree to disagree I'm afraid
