Boris has been fined - Tory voters, should he go?

NewYorker80 · 12/04/2022 13:43

Both Johnson and Sunak have received fines for the lockdown parties. No further details as yet.

Do any Conservative voters here think Boris should resign?

I thought the 'Keith' thing is a sneer at him for being ordinary - the son of a toolmaker and a nurse, who grew up in a working-class family and got where he is by hard work. You'd think the Conservatives might like that about him, but given the current front bench of rich kids, there's not much of that old-fashioned conservatism on show anymore.

PartyPCN · 13/04/2022 17:17

What annoys me is how frickin inept and slow the Met seem to be over this, drip drip dripping the PCN's over weeks and making Sue Gray wait.

It's infuriating when we know the Abba PCN is round the corner, that they are giving Boris ample time to create another dead cat moment (possibly tragically Ukraine-related too).

'Why do people insist on calling Keir Starmer Keith? It's so sneering'

Boris Johnson is called Bozo repeatedly on here.

When they aren't sneering at him for being Sir , they sneer at him for being ordinary. It's charming.

As it goes, my dad Keith is quite posh.

Not by me.

And that isn't classist now is it?

They only like this if the person ended up a Consrevative.

It's bizarre isn't it that KS is so much more relatable to most of us than the ridiculous procession of pomposity on the cabinet bench, and yet somehow Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson is "man of the people". 🙄
Notonthestairs · 13/04/2022 17:21

Will any further FPN fall within pre election sensitivity/purdah?

"For UK and devolved government departments the pre-election period for local elections is not fixed to any particular date. The general convention is that special care should be taken in the three weeks preceding the elections. In 2022, that will be 14 April to 5 May."

Notonthestairs · 13/04/2022 17:24

I suppose if nobody takes any notice of the Ministerial Code of Conduct any more purdah shouldn't matter.

PartyPCN · 13/04/2022 17:29

Both good points

Hrpuffnstuff1 · 13/04/2022 17:30

Keith.😂😂🙈
Posh.😂😂😂
It's one step away from Barry.

Piggywaspushed · 13/04/2022 17:31

Yes, well done, you just made the point...

Not by me either. In fact not by many. But crack on with calling him Keith. Hilarious.
Blossomtoes · 13/04/2022 17:34

I don’t think the police are subject to the purdah rules which say you can’t promote a particular political party. FPNs are hardly enhancing the Tories’ image.

OK, so I have time on my hands and am scrolling through the thread. Yet to find anyone using the term Bozo. Carrie gets name called a few times. In my sampling this occurs a couple of times and then you on a few occasions refer to Angie and Keith. You seem to be rather at the forefront of the sneering, janiie.

Half of them think it's Kieth !

Oh no sorry I meant mn generally perhaps not this specific thread. He is widely referred to as Bozo.

What's wrong with Angie?

Piggywaspushed · 13/04/2022 17:41

Now pondering why someone called Barry doesn't deserve a place at High Table either.

Roussette · 13/04/2022 17:43

What's wrong with Angie?

Does she refer to herself as 'Angie'? Not that I know of.

Caryfakes · 13/04/2022 17:45

I keep repeatedly misreading the title of this thread as 'Boris has been fired'. My heart gives a little jolt of joy. Until I read it properly.

Blossomtoes · 13/04/2022 17:45

I call him Johnson - in the American sense.

SueSaid · 13/04/2022 17:47

'Does she refer to herself as 'Angie'? Not that I know of.'

Well Pippa Crerar and others do so I presume it's been ok'd?

I had no idea it's seen as rude. So, open season for mocking BJ, Truss, Carrie, Dorries etc but full and proper names for the opposition and mocking not allowed. Got it.

Cornettoninja · 13/04/2022 17:47

I might try out referring to him as de Pfeffel.

Cornettoninja · 13/04/2022 17:50

No idea? Really? Really ?

derxa · 13/04/2022 17:50

@Piggywaspushed

Why do people insist on calling Keir Starmer Keith? It's so sneering.

Also, my dad is called Keith so it double annoys me. Nothing wrong with my highly intelligent father.

I agree it's sneering. It's used by Corbynites and right wingers equally
