Taylor Hawkins has died.

This has just been reported on BBC News. He was only 50 years old. Thoughts are with his friends and family.

Awful. Truly shocking. He seemed like a very nice man. I only found out recently that he was also the drummer on alanis morrisettes jagged little pill album. RIP

Found unresponsive in his hotel room in Colombia. Given his past struggles it seems possible it might be drug related Sad

Horrible news, he's been one of my favourite drummers since I was a kid - im not normally particularly affected by celeb deaths but im a big Dave Grohl fan as well and they were best friends, he'll be absolutely devastated, they all will :(

I'm absolutely devastated. Terrible if it was drugs too, I thought that was well behind him. I can't believe it.

No they haven't, but it is being reported widely online. I'm a huge Foos fan. I really hope it wasn't, for his family's sake.

It's a real tragedy - RIP Taylor and thoughts with his family and the band.

Here in Australia we've just had a bit of a rash of deaths of well known people in early 50s - Shane Warne at 52, one of our MPs at 52 to name 2 - and they both died of a heart attack, so I'm thinking maybe it was that? I did know about the drugs before, but maybe his previous issues had a weakening effect on his heart - who knows. No doubt we'll find out sooner or later.

I’m devastated, Foo Fighters are my favourite band of all time and this is the second time Dave and Pat have lost a band mate suddenly. His kids are so young too.

Let’s not speculate on the cause.
