This has just been reported on BBC News. He was only 50 years old. Thoughts are with his friends and family.

I also think Dave will continue music but not as foo fighters.

Cherropea · 30/03/2022 10:00

I think it is likely the if the Foos too and they were still at their best. It's so sad 😥

Inyourhonor · 30/03/2022 10:10

I have seen them 3 times before. I think the reason I am so sad is because I know I will never see them together again. Its like the end of a piece of my life.

I am lucky that the last time I saw them, Taylor sang a song while Dave played drums.

Horriblewoman · 30/03/2022 10:20

I've seen the foos over 30 times and I always thought they'd be the band I took my children to in the same way my dad and I used to go to shows together. I can't see them as a band in the near future though and that breaks my heart.

Our family are gutted - what a loss. Along with a few other artists, FFs are the background music to our life. We had tickets to see them in June & the lengths that we went to to get them at face value through the fan club. It was to be an end of exams celebration and we had a countdown to the day. We were regularly saying how excited we were for this gig! To come to terms with TH being gone as a fan is one thing, I cannot imagine what his family & the band are going through.

Just listened to Jo Whileys tribute on BBC Sounds, its a lovely listen..

EachandEveryone · 04/09/2022 09:22

Did anyone go to the tribute at Wembley? Just reading the write up of it I keep welling up. Must have been amazing.

Sparklingbrook · 04/09/2022 09:43

No but I watched the whole 6 hours live at home. 🥲

icebearforpresident · 04/09/2022 09:45

I watched the live stream, it was a great show and a fitting tribute. Cried my eyes out for most of the foos set then really lost it when Shane Hawkins came out for My Hero. That kid is an amazing drummer and did his dad so proud.

Sparklingbrook · 04/09/2022 09:48

DG trying not to cry was a difficult watch. Brilliant performances from Luke Spiller and Justin Hawkins. And Liam G was brilliant although people don’t like to hear that. 😂

Change123today · 04/09/2022 10:38

We went it was amazing.

Very very different to a usual Foo fighters gig - it was very good though. Watching his son play drums was lovely and seeing the rest of the band giving him hugs/support after - the love was felt by all.

I think that will be my lasting memory was the LOVE people had for him.

lazarusb · 04/09/2022 11:13

It was a great tribute and very emotional in places. Loved that Taylor's son gave it his all on the drums for My Hero. Just wanted to give Dave a hug when he started crying. I hope that wherever Taylor is now, he died knowing how much he was loved by so many people.

VanishingViolet · 04/09/2022 13:18

Watched the live stream, it was an awesome tribute, emotional.

Arnaquer · 04/09/2022 14:00

Just caught a clip of Dave breaking singing Times like These

Mumofsend · 04/09/2022 15:40

The show was absolutely incredible. Lost it at times like these and my hero. I think any parent knows just how proud Taylor would be of Shane for that performance.

SpaceyCake · 04/09/2022 15:59

I've been watching bits of the concert and absolutely crying my eyes out. It was heartwarming to see what a loving atmosphere there seemed to be. What a guy!

ThisIsAddiction · 04/09/2022 16:53

I was all good until Dave went during times like these, I then became a sobbing wreck finished off by Shane drumming my hero.

37GoingUnder · 04/09/2022 23:04

A fantastic tribute to a fantastic guy. They seemed to strike exactly the right tone somewhere between grief and sadness and celebration of Taylor’s life.

And then Dave’s Everlong solo. I cried all the way home.

I did. I truly don’t think I’ll ever get over it. So glad I was there.

lazarusb · 05/09/2022 08:34

OnceAgainWithFeeling I feel like Everlong take

lazarusb · 05/09/2022 08:35

GAH! Takes on a new meaning every time I hear it live. But Saturday's pared back version was especially poignant.

OnceAgainWithFeeling · 05/09/2022 09:43

I felt that about every song to be honest. There was a totally different lens over the lyrics on Saturday night.

Carpedimum · 05/09/2022 16:23

My family are huge FF fans. We went on Saturday, it was fantastic but bittersweet. I wept a lot, especially when Dave was struggling, from the off to the end, it was very emotional. I can’t wait to watch the LA one on September 27. From such a high calibre line-up, it’s difficult to single anyone out they were all outstanding, TH clearly was an amazing human off stage as well as on. From a drumming perspective, Rufus Taylor uncannily emulated TH who was his mentor. From a mother’s pov, seeing 16 yr old Shane belt hell out of the skins, gave me a lump in my throat that hasn’t yet abated. We spent a LOT on tickets, travel, merch & accommodation, but it was worth every penny.

Must've been monumental to be there!!!
I blubbed too watching little Shane giving it his all, and Dave breaking down, so emotional, and that was just on screen viewing.. Sad
