Taylor Hawkins has died.

This has just been reported on BBC News. He was only 50 years old. Thoughts are with his friends and family.

It’s so incredibly sad and a massive loss to music. I was watching a clip of him singing a Queen song and he just filled the stage with his energy. His poor family.

We’ve got tickets for June as well. I can’t imagine in a million years that it will go ahead, even if it’s not the end of the FF.

The first death of a musician to really hit me was Kurt Cobain & very few have had much impact since, until now, as awful as that sounds.

I've just been watching their Carpool Karaoke. I love Foo Fighters & their music has been with me through so many different times in my life. RIP Taylor, thank you for being you.

My heart goes out to his poor wife & children, and Dave too of course.

Saw a tweet from Shaun Keaveney this morning with a photo of the two of them and saying how sad it was to have lost him. I was totally confused for a couple of minutes and then the horrible truth dawned. Just awful news. It's really affected me - I have tickets to see them in June, bucket list item having missed out in the past. Their music has got me through some really shit times and I just feel so sad, his poor family and his band. Just heart wrenching 💔

Such sad news. I saw this clip in an article today of him singing Queen recently and it really shows the brilliant relationship he and Dave Grohl had

So very sad. 50 is no age and it clearly wasn't expected. Thinking of his wife, children and
Dave and the rest of the bands (Coat Tail Riders as well as the Foos). We also have tickets for June. At least we had already been lucky enough to see them. Flowers

Was very sad to wake up to this news this morning.
As a life long FF fan I've grown up with this band. I can't fathom that Taylor has gone.

We have tickets too. I can't believe it.
We last saw them at Milton Keynes when Dave had his broken leg. They were amazing.

Snap @Moonflower12. It was the first time we too both our DDs who were both under 10 at the time and have grown up listening to and loving the Foos. We're all gutted and can't believe it. I really can't imagine the Foos without Taylor. it's the end of an era 😭😭

I keep crying over the saddest news of Taylor. Mad you don't know someone but can be so affected by their death.

He was an incredible drummer with the loveliest smile.

Absolutely bloody devastating, Taylor was the only drummer that could live up to the Grohlmicesters standard.. his poor family, and poor Dave, for this to have happened again Sad
Taylor had such an inner sparkle, so so sad.

Heartbroken today. Awful news. He was such an important and integral part of the Foo Fighters. I can’t imagine they’ll tour any further this year at least.

God, it’s awful, I feel so sorry about Taylor. Totally identify with what Fearne Cotton said about Foo Fighter’s music being threaded through her life, they’ve sound tracked my life since I was at uni and I’m gutted. RIP Taylor

I’m not normally affected by “famous” deaths but this one hit home. I’ve spent 3 decades loving Foo Fighters music and watching the band.
First Mark Lanegan and now Taylor, both far too young. Gutted for his family and friends.

It was horrible to wake up to this news this morning. He seemed like a genuinely nice dude. Thinking about his wife and kids. Dave must be distraught as well.

I really think Foo Fighters will end. Given the love between Dave and Taylor, I just can't see Dave being able to continue. This is his second best friend to die (I don't even mean Kurt) so this will be tough for him. I know Taylor wasn't a founding member but Dave is open about how close they are.
I agree, I can’t see them carrying on. Poor Dave .

Bogota is 2,640m above seal level. Apart from the drug substances, I don’t think the altitude would have helped. Does anyone remember John Peel dying on holiday in Peru?

Far too early to deduce and Colombia should never have released. All they know is that there were traces found

Opiods are found in very valid pain killers. Antidepressants are stating the obvious. Weed wouldn't be an issue in itself. Nothing to actually suggest his death was due to them

This is a good point. A close friend of mine nearly died due to altitude sickness

Yes I was disappointed with the leak about drugs. Not sure they would know so soon. If it is , sad that he lapsed after being clean for so long.

Did he though? We don’t know this yet.

Those drugs could have been prescription and/or he could have got something over there for his back pain (from his drumming) and it reacted badly with his prescription drugs.

He definitely has been clean for 20 odd years.

It’s also been leaked an ambulance was called to that hotel for someone who had ‘chest pains’
