This has just been reported on BBC News. He was only 50 years old. Thoughts are with his friends and family.

Awful news. So terrible for his family and for Dave Grohl to lose another best friend.
Have been lucky enough to see the Foos live and was due to see them again in June.

TheOnlyMrsW · 26/03/2022 07:42

So devastating to wake up to 💔

Goofbawl · 26/03/2022 07:43

So sad. RIP Taylor, you crazy kid.

Spudlet · 26/03/2022 07:45

So sad SadFlowers

Gizlotsmum · 26/03/2022 07:46

Genuinely sad news. Like others have said he always seemed a genuine nice guy and was amazing to see live.

TheChurchOfEli · 26/03/2022 07:46

So shocked by this. Had the pleasure of meeting him a few times and he was always so pleasant and nice. I hate to think of the effect this is going to have on Dave, they were brothers.

FannylovesDick · 26/03/2022 07:54

I’m really, really sad to wake up to this news today. Sad

Roominmyhouse · 26/03/2022 07:55

So sad, 50 is no age at all.

Samcro · 26/03/2022 07:57

just saw this on facebook very sad.

KingJeremyTheWickedd · 26/03/2022 08:01

I’m really sad about his passing, it feels really unexpected. Absolutely love Foo Fighters, and didn’t realise until this thread that he drummed on jagged little pill! That’s one of my favourite albums, so it’s good to know he was part of it. Thinking of his family, must be so hard to hear your family members passed while they’re away.

Crawfishspots · 26/03/2022 08:02

So sad, seemed like such a lovely man and feel so sorry for his family and friends.

netofmums · 26/03/2022 08:04

Incredibly sad news.
FF are one of those bands that I don't listen to for ages and then when I do I always wonder why not. Musically, they're flawless and Taylor was such a talent. It's a real shame and no matter the circumstances, I feel for his family, friends and bandmates. Many of them have already encountered so much loss in their lives.

Sparklingbrook · 26/03/2022 08:04

Awful news to wake up to. Sad

CosmopolitanPlease · 26/03/2022 08:05

I'm so sad to hear this, I love the Foos and saw them at V Festival in 2003. Taylor was incredibly charismatic and had such energy. I don't think the Foo Fighters can continue without him, he was too big a presence.

Poor Dave losing another close friend so suddenly. Sad

notacooldad · 26/03/2022 08:06

Does anywhere give a reason for death?
None stated yet but we can have a good guess. Sadly his struggles have been well documented over the years.
I'm really saddened by this news when I read it earlier.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 26/03/2022 08:06

This is awful news and I don't remember feeling like this about a celebrity death since hearing on the radio that kurt cobain had died. I've just started learning to play the drums and Taylor was one of my drum heroes, a real inspiration. RIP

DMCWelshcakes · 26/03/2022 08:07

Fucking hell. I'm actually in shock. We saw them a few years ago and DiddyCakes (learning drums) was completely entranced by him. That gig meant so much to me in so many ways.

Heartbreaking for his wife and children, and the rest of the band.

RIP. Flowers

Horriblewoman · 26/03/2022 08:07

I always knew that I'd struggle with any deaths of the Foo fighters, they have had a huge impact on my life - the friend I've met, the places I've travelled to, and even tangentially how I met my husband.

This one really hits hard, he was an insane talent but more importantly seemed to be (in the small interactions I had with him) a thoroughly decent, kind, funny man.

MaryStuart · 26/03/2022 08:10

So sad, I love The Foos. So good live.
RIP Taylor.

MsWalterMitty · 26/03/2022 08:15

I don’t think I can cope with this!… He’s a legend!

userxx · 26/03/2022 08:17

I've seen the foo's live a few times and was mesmerised by Taylor. Unbelievably sad.

courgettigreensadwater · 26/03/2022 08:19

Seen the Foos live a few times and he was an absolute legend. So talented and hilarious as well. A great showman. So so sad. Three children too.

ZaraSizeMedium · 26/03/2022 08:22

Really genuinely gutted to wake up to this news today. We were due to see Foo Fighters in June for the fourth time. He seemed like a nice guy, as do they all. Such sad news.

Papayamya · 26/03/2022 08:26

So sad, a huge loss to music (as well as his family and friends of course). I've seen them live quite a few times and absolutely incredible.

TokyoSushi · 26/03/2022 08:32

I just remember Dave Grohl shouting 'it's Taylor fckin Hawkins everybody' and everybody going absolutely wild, he was amazing! I can only imagine how devastated everybody is.
