Taylor Hawkins has died.

This has just been reported on BBC News. He was only 50 years old. Thoughts are with his friends and family.

There was a point in These Days where Dave struggled (“one of these days a your heart will stop, and play its final beat”) and the crowd singing “but it’s alright, yeah it’s alright” gently to him until he was able to carry on was just heartbreaking. I’ve started watching what was broadcast and both my daughter and I were in tears.

I will genuinely never forget that night.

I was there with DH and DCs. It was a phenomenal experience but very emotional. It cost a fucking arm and leg for us all to go, but I'm so glad we did.

I'm still not over it.

I was there on Saturday and sobbed my heart out. They've been such a monumental part of my life for the past 20 years it was a heartbreaking, cathartic, uplifting, wonderful and devastating show to be a part of.

During times like these everyone around me was sobbing, we cheers'd our glasses to Taylor as we put our arms around total strangers and it was beautiful.

I've cried every day since, I feel like I've lost a member of my family and cannot imagine how Shane managed to drum so brilliantly.
