My vibrator has disappeared…

Ummmwhereisit · 04/03/2022 14:47

Name changed for this because vibrators.

I’m home alone and was about to indulge in a spot of alone time before having a quick nap.

My vibrator is not in the hidden box in my bedside drawer as usual. I have absolutely no idea where it is. I’ve searched my partners bedside drawer and it’s not there either. I use it infrequently so can’t recall when I had it last but I’m 99.99% certain it will have gone back in the box that it always does… it’s an old box for something unrelated, think iPhone type, with an insert in and the vibrator sits neatly underneath so even if someone were to open the drawer and get as far as opening the box they wouldn’t necessarily know it was there. Obviously partner knew.

We had a few days away last week and both the cleaner and my parents had keys for the house. I was away last night and am not long home.

Where the fuck is it and who the fuck has moved it?

I think you should go to A&E.....

Chimchiminie · 04/03/2022 22:50

@GregBrawlsInDogJail

Ps: older kids and teens absolutely go through your stuff. Especially the "private", aka good, stuff. If you don't want them to investigate your lingerie, sex toys, alcohol, prescription drugs or anything else "adult" and taboo, you'd better lock that shit up.
Yeah my money‘s on the younger teen.
Undecicive · 04/03/2022 22:54

No way I'd have ever touched something like a vibrator belonging to my mum. (vom)

LovedayCL · 04/03/2022 22:57

I want to reassure you that tomorrow's performance has been clearly advertised to include this performance, so all those booking were aware of the format. It will be in a room with restricted access and all children will be attending the event together with a responsible adult who will be able to make a decision as to whether the performance is appropriate for their child.

This somehow makes it worse.

LovedayCL · 04/03/2022 22:58

It’s like ‘for all the children who have parents successfully brainwashed into thinking this is a good idea, further legitimized by our involvement, we’ve got a nice private room set up.

SoItWas · 04/03/2022 23:03

Is mumsnet glitching?

HeartOfClass · 04/03/2022 23:04

I sense an opportunity here? I've had to use the where is my iPhone feature a few times. What about where is my vibrator?

silverbubbles · 04/03/2022 23:09

your daughter has it for sure

Err, are you on the right thread?
LovedayCL · 04/03/2022 23:12

No I’m not, it’s that stupid glitch.

Indigoo03 · 04/03/2022 23:32

My DD took mine and broke it hence was too scared to return it....

whynotwhatknot · 04/03/2022 23:55

Thats a good point what if your dd took it and broke it-panicked and jsut threw is away

shoopashoop · 04/03/2022 23:56

I found condoms in my mums drawer when I was younger and I threw them away in an outrage that they still had sex Grin as if that was some sort of solution. Mum still laughs about it.

oakleaffy · 05/03/2022 00:05

Our heating engineer {a large Rugby player type} admitted to being nervous when he lifted a loose floorboard {no nails in it} and there was a stash of sex toys hidden there.

He said it made him nervous.

Maybe he was frightened they'd magically start up and come buzzing at him while he had his back turned.

A rampant Rabbit frantically burrowing it's way down the back of his trousers.

We used to think Mum and Dad must have only ''Done it'' three times to get us.

I saw a used condom floating in the loo like a disconsolate jellyfish from parents, and was embarrassed to face them at breakfast.

Me neither! Gross!
ladydimitrescu · 05/03/2022 00:37

I would casually ask if either have moved anything from your drawer, not specify as it will mortify them - I'd imagine you'd be able to tell by the reaction

maddy68 · 05/03/2022 00:55

My dig stole mine. I only realised when she produced ot at a most embarrassing moment when my boss came round and she produced it monthes after its disappearance

StarlightLady · 05/03/2022 07:31

I have 3 and would certainly notice if one of mine was missing quick enough. Once, with immediate “post orgasm brain” l left a waterproof one on the bath-side and people came to stay! 😱

This is serious though, ‘sounds as if you need to do an emergency shop today and find a new place to keep it. Remember ease of accessibility is important though. You don’t want to have to go rummaging when you feel the need.

MsWalterMitty · 05/03/2022 07:50

6 🙈🙈… Luckily she hasn’t mentioned it! I naively thought the draw under the bed was a secure place as it’s full of boring material!

I’d have told them off for throwing it down the toilet

Ask Sue Gray

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 05/03/2022 16:36

Have you tried praying to st anthony?

He's the one who hid it in the first place - he's very disappointed in you.

Ummmwhereisit · 05/03/2022 16:57

So it’s been found. Somewhere in our room that I would never put it. In a tin where I keep cosmetic type stuff that is in my stock to use, so shower gel etc, it’s an old soap and glory Christmas tin. I can categorically state for certain I did not put it there. DP appears as surprised as me and also now feels pretty uneasy. He’s a good egg so I don’t suspect this has anything to do with him. I’m baffled and it’s made me feel not very good.

How wierd. Quite worrying and unsettling. Bet you don't like the fact you can't explain it.
