What did we see last night..?

We had been away for a few nights and travelled back quite late. Towards the end of our journey, this was about 2am, we were driving along an A road in a rural area when something crossed the road in front of us in full headlights for about 3 seconds. It was about the height of a person, maybe 6 feet or over, but had short powerful legs and hips which seemed to move in a circular fluid fashion. It was not a deer because it stood on two legs. This was in the midlands and the area is traditional rolling fields and woodland. In this particular spot there are no houses or buildings, nearest is over a mile away. We drove back today as its only 7 miles from home to look at the road layout and whatever it was moved into a wide bowl shaped field dropping down to a stream. Any ideas?

I was reading an interesting article the other day, apparently during and after lockdown there seemed to be more reported sightings of these sorts of creatures, the theory being that during lockdown everyone was indoors so these beings could roam with confidence without being disturbed, but now lockdown is over and everyone is back to normal but the creatures are still roaming thinking there's not going to be many humans about like before, but obviously there are, hence the increase in sightings.....food for thought

@Laiste and @RockinHorseShit I have had the same experience as you with a male presence. From a very young age. Being glared at, stalked and harassed in a targeted way that was so endemic in my childhood it became part of my normality or like a disability I was constantly living with. I can’t talk about it too much or put into words as he is still aware of me and speaking about it gives him strength. But I have to say yes I have been there and I believe you

@Itchinforabitchin that sounds v distressing. Do you feel the presence where ever you stay? Is it confined to your home? Can you move?!

I have always been lucky enough to have never had anything ''follow'' me. I think part of the reason i'm keen to block stuff out (even for a laugh or to join in - y'know ooh this church/hotel/woods feels creepy doesn't it, ect) is my fear of picking up something which might follow me home.

I was actually on the train thinking about an organised trip of some sort, like an MN chimera seeking weekend, or some such, but it would be so hard to organise.

This has reminded me of a tale an old friend told me once. He was driving, at night, along a road that was halfway up a hill. He saw what looked like monks in white robes, with hoods up, walking down the hill.
It was actually fog rolling down the hill. The mind does funny things at night.

OMG this is spooky. I had not heard of this thread before, but live within a mile of that exact piece of road. On Monday night around 7pm I travelled westwards and after the layby on the right there is a wide piece of grass verge. Something was standing on its hind legs and I accelerated away. It was long and thin.
