What did we see last night..?

We had been away for a few nights and travelled back quite late. Towards the end of our journey, this was about 2am, we were driving along an A road in a rural area when something crossed the road in front of us in full headlights for about 3 seconds. It was about the height of a person, maybe 6 feet or over, but had short powerful legs and hips which seemed to move in a circular fluid fashion. It was not a deer because it stood on two legs. This was in the midlands and the area is traditional rolling fields and woodland. In this particular spot there are no houses or buildings, nearest is over a mile away. We drove back today as its only 7 miles from home to look at the road layout and whatever it was moved into a wide bowl shaped field dropping down to a stream. Any ideas?

@laiste, my sister and I started a podcast about weird things in the news for the week, and since this made the news I am going to talk about it on our podcast. Would you mind if I posted your drawing on Instagram? @theuniverseunhinged

Ooh
I was thinking, after listening to an awful presenter, that it would be nice to listen to a woman podcasting on this.

Can we have a link please?

@EmmaH2022 sure, it's anchor.fm/theuniverseunhinged, i hope to do this justice, we are just starting out in this whole podcast thing, but I find this fascinating! I'm American by the way and you all seem like such lovely people!

@GallopingHighRoad did you ever settle on an official name for your goat man?

Report
Laiste · 28/02/2022 17:33

@EmmaH2022 - ''awful presenter'' it wasn't the one doing the Clappam woods one was it?

I started to listen to that and it was interesting, but his voice was sooooo boring i kept mentally drifting off BlushGrin

Love how the local papers keep putting pics of big foot next to ''Report of Goat Man''.

Confused

What are they googling? A goat man isn't a big ape!? lol

If no one's already done it, can I recommend the BBC radio series 'Uncanny' for all things spooky (more spirits and poltergeists than Bigfeet/Goatmen). It's available on BBC sounds and probably iPlayer.

John I found an episode of These Woods Are Haunted on Youtube - the sasquatch - which I'd not heard of till this thread - and the insane asylum. Scary scary stuff. But the West Virginia one (sasquatch), I was expecting the Mothman to be mentioned, surprised he wasn't.

Yes Emma, Mothman was a very strange sequence of events, very eerie...I noticed a great deal of bigfoot and dogman sightings always seem to be in the deep south of America did you watch the Wisconsin Dogman? It's available on YT I think DMAX are showing it, I honestly don't know what I'd do if I came face to face with one of these creatures, it must be terrifying!

EmmaH2022 · 05/03/2022 12:02

I'll look for that

Do you know if anyone in the UK is showing the whole series?

It's funny, I just think of woods etc as being glorious nature. I've never thought about monsters! The sasquatch didn't scare me but the asylum one did...though my feeling id that place finally belongs to someone who can roam free, and they don't want anyone in their space, understandably.

The whole series was shown at the back end of last year, I'm sure it will be shown again at some point so if I see it on TV I'll message you!

EmmaH2022 · 05/03/2022 17:06

Thanks John
I don't think I can get D max but I will watch what I can on YouTube. It's probably a bit overwhelming for me to watch the whole series anyway!

Report
JohnStonesMissus · 05/03/2022 17:53

Watching it on your own can be spooky!

Report
EmmaH2022 · 05/03/2022 20:50

Oh I don't mind the spooky bit, but I dunno, sometimes these shows can be a bit OTT.

I am so bored, if the weather was better I really would book a ghosty trip somewhere out of town. I'm going to settle down to another Youtube episode now.
