What did we see last night..?

We had been away for a few nights and travelled back quite late. Towards the end of our journey, this was about 2am, we were driving along an A road in a rural area when something crossed the road in front of us in full headlights for about 3 seconds. It was about the height of a person, maybe 6 feet or over, but had short powerful legs and hips which seemed to move in a circular fluid fashion. It was not a deer because it stood on two legs. This was in the midlands and the area is traditional rolling fields and woodland. In this particular spot there are no houses or buildings, nearest is over a mile away. We drove back today as its only 7 miles from home to look at the road layout and whatever it was moved into a wide bowl shaped field dropping down to a stream. Any ideas?

Ooh no idea but I love the imagination these threads bring out, so I’m following for this reason!

Wallaby or kangaroo.

GallopingHighRoad · 20/02/2022 17:18

Not sure wallaby or kangaroo fits what we saw, but I get the hips thing. Definitely not those. Much taller and upright when moving.

Slenderman

Squiff70 · 20/02/2022 17:21

Sounds like one mother of a gigantic hare to me!

Xfox · 20/02/2022 17:21

Ostrich? Grin

Bemystarlord · 20/02/2022 17:22

Sonic!?

Laiste · 20/02/2022 17:23

Can you describe i a little bit more? Or in different terms?

What do you mean by 'circular'?

(we're rural midlands surrounded by rolling fields and woods!)

Xfox · 20/02/2022 17:23

Oh. No missed the short legs bit! 🤣

nancy75 · 20/02/2022 17:23

Are there a lot of kangaroos in the Midlands? Grin

Laiste · 20/02/2022 17:24

Was it hopping or running?
Or walking?

OeangeFlower · 20/02/2022 17:24

Probably someone’s blow up Santa they didn’t take down after Christmas that the storm stole!

WeAreTheHeroes · 20/02/2022 17:24

There are reports of wild wallabies having been seen.
WeAreTheHeroes · 20/02/2022 17:26

Actually re-reading you description, was it Roadrunner?

Laiste · 20/02/2022 17:27

I'm v interested because i've seen something very strange too, disappearing up across the fields behind the house and into the woods. It wasn't upright though.

Theworldisquiethere · 20/02/2022 17:28

Apparently there’s something called chronic wasting disease (I think! I’ll google it) that deer get that makes them look spooky and they often get mistaken for humanoid creatures

GallopingHighRoad · 20/02/2022 17:29

The gigantic hare is not far off...but not at 6ft though.

The closest we can describe is a large man-goat on hind legs, but really stocky ones. Obviously not that though. No animals in surrounding fields when we go there today.

Some of the herons in London parks are taller than me. Could it be that?

I do wish it had been Slenderman but that seems unlikely.

GallopingHighRoad · 20/02/2022 17:30

Where are you Laiste?

GuyFawkesDay · 20/02/2022 17:32

There's a white wallaby been spotted a lot here in rural Warwickshire!

FindingMeno · 20/02/2022 17:32

Someone in really strange fancy dress?

FujiIX · 20/02/2022 17:33

Pan?

ShallWeTalkAboutBruno · 20/02/2022 17:34

I have seen a wild Wallaby in Warwickshire. No one believed me until I found actual news reports of them!
