What's the best peanut butter?

After years of buying bog standard supermarket cheapest peanut butter, I bought some Meridian last week and wow it is soooo good. It's accidentally picked up almond butter, so then bought chunky peanut butter. Can't believe I've been missing out on this stuff.

What's the best peanut butter, what shall I try next?

Got the Whole Earth last week, after not being to find it for ages... Must check if it’s the Organic. Had Meridian for ages. Tasty, but it’s more like crushed peanuts than a spread texture like Whole Earth. Must try the Aldi one next!

Ozanj · 30/01/2022 23:34

The Meridian 100% peanuts one. It is pure peanut butter but as a result it can seperate so you do need to keep stirring it regularly

PickAChew · 30/01/2022 23:40

We like meridian.

Don't like pip n nut. It tastes burnt.

PickAChew · 30/01/2022 23:47

The waitrose duchy originals is really good, too. Not so keen on the plastic tub but that has its bonuses as it doesn't smash into gluey smithereens when Ds2 drops it.

MrsSkylerWhite · 30/01/2022 23:48

Morrisons value. Far less sugar than brands and nice, big nutty bits.

Whole earth do a variety - with and without palm oil plus a separate organic one.

My mouth is watering reading all these comments I always buy the cheapest will be trying all the brands now

KaiKanWhenever · 31/01/2022 00:07

We love Whole Earth crunchy.

A few years ago a girl on a Sainsburys checkout told me that a great afternoon treat is to get a heaped teaspoon of peanut butter and a teaspoon of Nutella and put them in your mouth at the same time and it's like the best chocolate bar ever!

I admit I tried it and it was divine and I do it about once a month now!

DerAlteMann · 31/01/2022 00:07

All peanut butter is vile. HTH.

@mswales

ManiLife deep roast, total game changer
I bought some of this after getting some samples, and it was shit. It leaked oil out the jar all the time and needed stirring so much. Just too much faff and mess.
RustyBear · 31/01/2022 00:15

Meridian, because it has no salt. I don't find it too difficult to mix it up. We buy it in the 1kg tubs, smooth for me and crunchy for DH.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 31/01/2022 00:21

I can go to a local co-op and grind my own, which is lovely.

If not, I like the Waitrose one with the dark green lid — it might be made with the skin on.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 31/01/2022 00:22

Yes, wholenut peanut butter.

TheVillageShop · 31/01/2022 00:29

We've tried them all and love Meridian. It's 100% peanuts, no salt or palm oil. We buy the huge tub.

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 31/01/2022 00:30

The Manilife Deep Roast Smooth peanut butter is hands down the best. I have tried most brands out there. We buy the Manilife one by the 1kg tub. It lasts us about a month. I toss the whole contents of the tub into my stand mixer and mix on low for a couple mins and that sorts out the separated oils and hard bits that have settled at the bottom. It's sold out on Amazon right now but the reviews speak for themselves amzn.to/3udNHWD

I grew up with Skippy and while tasty, it's filled with stabilisers and sugar and it's not healthy at all
