Who HASN'T had Covid?

I haven't. I've been in work (out of home) since June 2nd 2020 and I work with 2-4 year olds, mostly covered in bodily fluids. Nearly everyone I know has had it, including 2 of my children. Dh, DS1 and I have not had it. I feel like it's a waiting game now.

I haven’t. I don’t know anyone that has had it.

creamcrackerdmum · 10/11/2021 23:04

No one in my household or OH's family or mine.

Mantlemoose · 10/11/2021 23:11

I know personally 10 people. One who sadly died albeit given she smoked at least 20 a day for 70+ years and had copd

@BeefSupreme

I haven’t. I don’t know anyone that has had it.

Really ? That's pretty good going. I know loads of people who have had it, probably more than not now. Am glad I'm dine and dusted with it now, Christmas plans won't be messed up.

MrsBungle · 10/11/2021 23:17

Most people I know have had it.

My dd had it. I slept with her to be sure she was ok (as she has a heart condition and is awaiting an operation) and I didn’t get it. I work in schools every day. Not sure how I’ve avoided it!

noblegreenk · 10/11/2021 23:24

I've not had it. I was furloughed from March 2020 until November 2020. Since then I've been back at work full time (office) and still not had it. Although our office has very stringent measures in place, that staff do adhere to. DD attends childcare full time, she's been in contact with other kids who've had covid but she's never caught it. I am an avid mask wearer though, this is more to protect my dad as he's CEV. My husband hasn't had covid either. He was furloughed March to September 2020. He travels around the country visiting customers and stopped wearing a mask months ago. I would've thought that at least one of us would've had it by now, but I really don't think we have as yet.

DroopyClematis · 10/11/2021 23:31

Neither my husband nor I have had it.

Up until July I was frontline ( working with 5/6 year olds , no mask as it was considered unnecessary!)
Daughter has had it.

xxxJess123xxx · 10/11/2021 23:35

Me! Unless iv had it with no symtoms. 2 kids and partner havnt had it either with one of kids being close contact in school

LalalalalalaLand123 · 10/11/2021 23:37

I just tested positive today Shock
Double-vaxxed and have barely left the house in 2 years. Went out ONCE last weekend (to friends' house, made sure everyone there was vaxxed and tested) and now 4 of us who were there have it, and counting

vodkaredbullgirl · 10/11/2021 23:38

No family members have had it, nor have I. Plenty of people at work have had it even a few residents. Only 3 of us have not had it.

middleager · 11/11/2021 00:28

Some huge differences here!

Many people I know has had it, including me and my kids at separate times.
About half of the kids' classes too.

I can't imagine living in an area where it isn't rife, so many isolations, disruptions, loved ones ill, gone. So much disparity.

notangelinajolie · 11/11/2021 01:53

I don't personally know anyone who has had it. But then again I don't know many people.

I was quite ill with a chronic cough so bad that it resulted in me being hospitalised with internal bleeding just before the first ever lockdown. And then weeks later when lockdown was announced, still feeling poorly, low blood sats, breathing difficulty and chest pain. At the time I was convinced it was Covid but no tests then. Perhaps Covid and then Long Covid? Or then again as my family think - anxiety? Who knows.

XenoBitch · 11/11/2021 02:06

I am pretty sure I have not had it.
I have had some weird gastro issues, and some people might say that was a symptom and I should have got tested... but saying that. things like tooth ache, leg pain, acid reflux, anxiety etc... I would be testing all the time.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 11/11/2021 02:22

I haven't. I only know one person that has had it - my terminally ill stepdad caught it early on in hospital.
My DP is an emergency services worker and knows a few at work but thinks a lot were faking it as at the beginning they didn't need to prove it so a lot took advantage.

I only know one person that's had to self isolate. Had a discussion at work the other day and most people only knew one person that had had it (all caught it by going out drinking and being irresponsible during lockdown 1).

EpitomeOfIndifference · 11/11/2021 02:24

I’m not in the UK (Canada) but I honestly don’t personally know a single person who HAS had it.

I’ve heard of people, obviously, like a friend’s cousin type relationship for example but no one in my family or that I work with or am friends with has had it. I’m a teacher too and we haven’t had a single case at my school yet touches wood so I feel very fortunate.

Coyoacan · 11/11/2021 02:35

I haven't had it and I there has barely been a day that I haven't gone out since the start of the pandemic. I'm kept my distance and wear a mask on public transport and in crowds.

garlictwist · 11/11/2021 05:07

Statistically the majority of people haven't had it.

I was chatting to my neighbour yesterday. He has just come out of hospital after eight days on oxygen with it. He is double jabbed and it just makes me think that my turn must be just round the corner as clearly the vaccines are pointless.

halloweenie13 · 11/11/2021 06:02

Me... but everyone around me has and quite significantly ie hospitilisation and severely ill, however I think I could have, having had chest infections twice over the past year and pneumonia within 2 years, every time I've become severely ill I've been unable to attend a pcr etc and haven't left the house for nearly 2 weeks due to social distancing protocols receiving home based support and medication.

ShakespearesSisters · 11/11/2021 06:51

I think we have escaped so far. I had an antigen test in jan which said I hadn't had it and I've been testing 2x per week since, more regularly if I'd been somewhere high risk. Dd9, dd7 and husband also have apparently escaped. As have my parents and his.
My brother in law, wife and 3 kids got it. My brother had it. Then a variety of friends have had it though, for some the whole household ended up with it. In others 1 or more of the family escaped it despite no social distancing within the household.

GoodnightGrandma · 11/11/2021 06:52

No, none of my immediate family either.

BigButtons · 11/11/2021 06:54

I am frontline- teaching -been working throughout. Not had it. None of my family have. Only 3 work colleagues and a handful of kids have had it. I know a few who have but I can count those on my fingers.

MrsDThomas · 11/11/2021 06:55

Me. Dh nor the 3 kids.

Been at work, shops, pubs, cinema.

I can count on 2 hands how many people i know who have.

Heard people talking “oh so and so has covid” but i dont know them

BigButtons · 11/11/2021 07:00

Good friends of mine are double vaxed and have had it twice though. Seems to be no rhyme nor reason.

IseeScottishhills · 11/11/2021 07:02

I'm a HCP Ive had numerous contacts with it from either patients, their relatives or colleagues including a very close 1 hour contact last week and as far I as I know I've never had it; antigen test done pre vaccination -ve and all LFT (done every 3-4 days) also -ve. Patients aside I also know very few people who've had it.
