Who HASN'T had Covid?

I haven't. I've been in work (out of home) since June 2nd 2020 and I work with 2-4 year olds, mostly covered in bodily fluids. Nearly everyone I know has had it, including 2 of my children. Dh, DS1 and I have not had it. I feel like it's a waiting game now.

I know lots of people and some who are on round two. But then I know lots of teachers, social workers and health professionals who have been exposed more than many.

SmellyOldOwls · 10/11/2021 20:58

I only know a handful of people who have actually had it.
Got my second vaccination coming up next week so no reason to worry anyway.

BeautyQueenIamNot · 10/11/2021 20:59

I haven’t (neither has my dh & dc) apart from 4 weeks last year when I worked from home I’ve been working out of the home and come into close contact with people who have tested positive but I’ve not had it, due my 3rd booster soon 🤷‍♀️ I guess it’s just a waiting game.

My mum, dad & brother have.

2 what I would call close friends have
Dh knows no one who’s had it
Most of the kids in school school have now had it

As far as we know me, my DH and our two adult children haven't had it. But we all WFH for ages and followed lockdown rules very carefully.

PaperMonster · 10/11/2021 21:08

Me. And I spent three months last year working in Covid soup with people around me coming down with it all the time - and I can’t believe I didn’t get it!!

Pinkginlover · 10/11/2021 21:13

Me,DH and our adult DC as far as we know.
None of us has ever had any Covid symptoms .

SunShinesBrightly · 10/11/2021 21:27

@PaperMonster

Covid soup! That just about sums it up!

Worked IN school throughout lockdown 1&2 (with key worker children) and with everyone as usual when schools reopened.
Children do not keep their distance from each other but they all use hand san when entering my room and I have stayed at arms length at all times.
I regularly wash my hands and have got through litres of hand sanitiser! 😅

Never say never though. I had ‘the cold’ for about 3 weeks which knocked me for 6. Negative tests but felt v ill.
Who knows when I’ll get it. Hopefully never.

SunShinesBrightly · 10/11/2021 21:33

Just to add, I know 2 people who have died from Covid. One person suffering from long Covid and is still very ill and has been registered disabled. One person who had a blood clot in their brain days after having the AZ vaccine and is now registered disabled as a result.

lljkk · 10/11/2021 21:33

There's a colleague I met in person once, about 20m ago, plus on TEAMS a few times, we exchanged lots of emails. She had Covid.

I barely know anyone else who has had it -- 3 of my 30 cousins who live very far away. One of DS's teachers. who I spoke to on Zoom. Daughter of a colleague who I met once in person 5 yrs ago. etc.

trashcansinatra · 10/11/2021 21:34

None of the 4 of us have, despite being around other people and 2 kids at high school.

frumpety · 10/11/2021 21:36

No one in this household has had it yet. Three of my relatives were hospitalised with it, fortunately all made a good recovery, they were all ill before the vaccination roll out.

Work wise, only a handful of people I work with have had it so far, work in the NHS, and see postive patients in the community, get to wear a selection of snazzy PPE when we do. The PPE requirement was upgraded not that long ago, prior to that it was mask/goggles/plastic apron and gloves, now we wear a gown and a better mask if a patient is known to be positive.

Everyone who is able to in this household is fully vaccinated. Hopefully if I do get it now, it will only be an inconvenience.

Jumpingintochristmas · 10/11/2021 21:39

No one in our household, nor my parents, in laws or grandparents. We have been very lucky so far.

WhoWants2Know · 10/11/2021 21:39

I haven't had any symptoms or positive tests, and I have been testing frequently since tests have been available.

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 10/11/2021 21:40

Me.

delilahbucket · 10/11/2021 21:43

I haven't or DH/DS and none of my immediate family. DH's sister and two kids, her ex husband and his partner, and her boyfriend and his kids and his ex and her partner all passed it around each other because they refused to isolate when symptomatic.

PleaseReferToMeAsBritneySpears · 10/11/2021 21:44

Nearly everybody I know has had it, including my two kids. I haven't. I've tested regularly and I'm in a trial so I tested a lot when my kids had it.

RubyTuesday70 · 10/11/2021 21:45

Me, DH and our 3 DDs. We've had it in the house (DD's BF) but no one else caught it.

Only know a handful of people who have had it.

We have worked throughout, and been public facing.

NiceTwin · 10/11/2021 21:50

Nobody in my family or extended family, 15 of us in total.

Stretchandsnap · 10/11/2021 21:51

Me, my family, my brother and his family, my mum, quite a few of our friends, it feels like the longest waiting game…

Longdistance · 10/11/2021 21:55

No one in my immediate family has caught Covid, or myself. It’s always been friends of friends or work colleagues kids.
I feel very lucky indeed.

Dartsplayer · 10/11/2021 22:14

DH hasn't had it even though me and our 3 DC all had it at the same time

Timeisavirtue · 10/11/2021 22:25

Me, although found out DP has had it possibly around a time when we all thought we had colds ( no main symptoms) so if I have it would have been 4 weeks ago and it was very mild ....

dontletthemugglesgetyoudownn · 10/11/2021 22:43

Me! I worked in icu for a few moths over the first wave, then did lung surgery and heart / lung transplants for the rest, now I'm going back to icu for 4 months but I've not had covid. I'm triple jabbed but still have no antibodies

RacketeerRalph · 10/11/2021 22:46

Neither me (NHS worker) nor DH nor DC1 (6) yet.

DC2 (3) has had it asymptomatically.

DH & DC1 could have had it asymptomatically, I had the antibody tests suggesting I've not had it at all.

bippityboppity87 · 10/11/2021 23:00

As far as I'm aware, no I haven't. I feel like I've had every other illness going though over the past two years. Last year was really bad. Was ill with something different every other month. PCR tests done, all negative

Managed to get tonsillitis about two weeks into the first lockdown, it was horrendous. Took a trip to hospital, two different antibiotics and steroids to shift it
