Who HASN'T had Covid?

I haven't. I've been in work (out of home) since June 2nd 2020 and I work with 2-4 year olds, mostly covered in bodily fluids. Nearly everyone I know has had it, including 2 of my children. Dh, DS1 and I have not had it. I feel like it's a waiting game now.

@YellowClouds

I haven't, I have had 2 antibodies tests around 6 months apart and both have been negative.

Most people I know have had it, including my DC and close friends who I have been around. So I think I've been lucky?! Only had one vaccine so far.

I had an antibody from infection test about 6 months after my positive PCR and it was negative so I guess you could have had it 🤷🏼‍♀️
anon51 · 10/11/2021 18:02

Me, my DH and two primary school aged DCs.

MissSmiley · 10/11/2021 18:02

@Mrsjayy

How do you get antibody tests I've not heard anything about them?
I had an NHS invitation to do an antibody test

To the best of my knowledge, I haven’t had covid and neither has DP or our parents.

I’m asthmatic, so I was very, very cautious from several weeks before the first lockdown until after my second jab. Because I WFH I figured that I had a good chance of dodging the bullet if I was careful. I barely saw anyone or went anywhere for 15 months, but it was worth it. I’m 90% back to normal life now.

Thebookswereherfriends · 10/11/2021 18:07

We were the same. Worked all through, not hidden away, just taken the usual precautions. Just this week we’ve all gone done with it! I think it’s getting hard to avoid and it’s just whether you become symptomatic or asymptomatic.

WakeUpLockie · 10/11/2021 18:07

Most people surely? There's like 64million people in the country (but I am admittedly very bad at maths so happy to be corrected!).

I haven't.
DH has we think but it was at the start of March 2020 so can't be sure.
No one in my family has.
I don't know any friends who have had it.

RaginaPhalange · 10/11/2021 18:12

Me, dh and 2 kids haven't had it. Though I have been off for almost a year on mat leave, dh working from home. I'm going back in a few weeks to work and dh going into a new job so hope we don't get it.

WakeUpLockie · 10/11/2021 18:13

I feel bad for people living in places where GPs aren't seeing anyone. How can that really be the case? During covid I've been to GP many a time with the kids (and love their email-first system to see if it's actually necessary to go in), been to NHS hospital loads (pregnant), been to private hospital twice, been to a private sonographer twice, dentist (this has been a nightmare backlog wise to be fair), been to the optician... Things haven't ground to a halt here thank god!

nancybotwinbloom · 10/11/2021 18:14

Me and none of my immediate family as far as I know.

TeallyMcTealson · 10/11/2021 18:14

I haven’t and I know for certain as I get an antibody test once a month and it was always negative until I was vaccinated. My husband is the same. My eldest child had it last year and I don’t think my other child has had it.

Buzzinwithbez · 10/11/2021 18:16

Suspected only - Christmas 2019. We think me and my daughter had it.

I've been to multiple medium capacity indoor gigs recently and did in Feb/March before shut down too, as well as restaurants, cinema etc.
We think dh got it from a gig end February 2020.

My eldest teenager has been a close contact multiple times but has failed to catch it.

NotMyCat · 10/11/2021 18:21

I haven't

jessycake · 10/11/2021 18:30

I wonder how many of us had it and were symptomless , or presented with symptoms that didn't qualify for a test .

Sprostongreen21 · 10/11/2021 18:30

Nope worked on a ward throughout. Worked with covid (not all the time but positive patients regularly ) not caught it and two negative antibody tests. Plus been LFT testing since last year twice a week.

Bloodybridget · 10/11/2021 18:46

As far as I know, I haven't. Never any symptoms, never had a positive test (although I've only ever had three tests).

Mistymountain · 10/11/2021 18:48

Worldometer is showing the UK at 9,406,001 cases at the moment, that's still only about 14% of the population, although I appreciate it's probably an underestimate. From reading the news and social media you'd think practically everyone would have had it by now - all the talk of ripping through!

Frazzled2207 · 10/11/2021 18:50

This article from Today may explain why those of us exposed have not had it
www.theguardian.com/world/2021/nov/10/people-exposed-to-covid-yet-not-falling-ill-may-have-immune-memory-finds-study?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

I too have been working with young children almost throughout and to my knowledge have not had it

Glittertwins · 10/11/2021 18:50

So far, we are all clear here

TheOnlyMrsW · 10/11/2021 18:59

We haven't, goodness knows how. DH works out of the house in an area that has regularly had one of the highest rates of infection, DD in yr11 and been a close contact umpteen times, DSiL a teacher and tested positive just before half-term after being at ours for dinner the day before.
We've been to loads of gigs and festivals - always negative lft beforehand but others have picked it up at the same events.
Do feel like it's literally a matter of time now

hellcatspangle · 10/11/2021 19:00

None of us in our house have - most of my extended family have though.

Sprostongreen21 · 10/11/2021 19:20

Should add that I know loads of colleagues have had it pre and post vaccines: some on leave for a month, some with minimal symptoms. A friend and my uncle died from it both had health conditions but not at deaths door or anything. My close circle: one of my best friends has had it post vaccine and been quite poorly but at home. Still lingering a month later. It’s such a weird virus that you never know how it will affect you.

Rosewaterblossom · 10/11/2021 19:23

I've worked throughout lockdowns, both my kids have been positive for covid. I've never been positive. Bizarre.

riverpebbles · 10/11/2021 19:24

Not me or my husband or kids, not any of my siblings or their children, not my parents or in-laws. All as vaccinated as possible. Am convinced it will be soon but not sure I am being rational.

Brissiegirl · 10/11/2021 19:29

Me nor anyone in my immediate family of 5, none of their girl/boyfriends, not my 89 year old parents. 3 sisters and 1 brother all married with kids and grandchildren and not a single case between us spread over 3 continents. I was actually very ill the Christmas of 2019 and wonder now was it covid but since then, I'm the healthiest I've ever been.
