I’m so shocked by this article!!

Apologises if this has already been posted about.

Does anyone else know anything else about this? I hope her rapist will face justice. Why is it reported she’s a young mum! She’s 11, when she had sex. It’s disgusting. Horrified by this. :(

Could this baby possibly be the product of an arranged marriage?

theliverpoolone · 27/06/2021 19:18

I haven't read the article, but surely the pregnancy must have gone right through lockdown when schools were closed - otherwise how on earth could a teacher not have noticed during a Primary PE lesson? Unless she was deliberately kept out of school. Tragic. Sad

GreenCrayon · 27/06/2021 19:22

@NiceTwin

Could this baby possibly be the product of an arranged marriage?
I highly doubt it.

The most obvious answer is normally the correct answer and in this case as sad as it is the mostly likely scenario is she has been abused by a male relative. Then other relatives have tried to sweep the issue under the carpet by pretending they didn't know.

CharlotteRose90 · 27/06/2021 19:26

It’s not come out who the father is and yet everyone automatically jumps to a family member or teenager assaulting her. It’s disgusting. We have no idea who the father is. He could be a child himself. Kids are experimenting more and more. If it is a boy her age then surely it’s rape on both sides. Hopefully she gets the help she needs and the baby goes to family or social services. She deserves a proper childhood not to bring up a baby.

thecatfromjapan · 27/06/2021 19:27

Kids are experimenting more and more.

They're really not.

Honestly, has this thread gone up on some weird-ass Reddit board?

Bordois · 27/06/2021 19:28

No, what's disgusting is an 11 year old girl has been raped and then gone through pregnancy and birth.

GreenCrayon · 27/06/2021 19:29

Kids are experimenting more and more.

Honestly they really aren't. Some of the reaching in this thread is just mind-blowing.

Gingerkittykat · 27/06/2021 19:29

@Breastfeedingworries

That was my though too, her father/step/brother. I doubt no one knew! I think she’s covering for the person. How awful this is! A crime has taken place. Focusing on the fact there’s a baby doesn’t mean sexual abuse didn’t happen!
Speculating on who the potential rapist is does nothing to help this girl and her baby and could do some damage if they read it. Leave it up to the experts to find who did it.

My heart breaks for this child, she will be going through the post natal period with all of the bleeding and producing milk which is hard enough for a grown woman to cope with. The psychological effects of having a child (even if it is adopted) are also huge.

I'm sitting here shaking my head at some of the comments.

I agree with you.

Occam's Razor would suggest it's a male relative.

They actually have it’s all over the news. It was In the paper the other day that 2 kids were caught in a school toilet naked and touching each other. If you don’t want to think it happens then don’t but open your eyes as it does.
Thefaceofboe · 27/06/2021 19:34

No one on here knows so maybe everyone should stop making random scenarios up.

2 primary school kids naked and touching each other in the school toilets is a massive safeguarding issue, not 'kids experimenting more'.

Jesus Christ....

kidsatuniemptynester · 27/06/2021 19:36

One of the worst things about it is the way the bloody Sun reported it as if it was some sort of competition, like the youngest to sail single handed around the world.

Its not happening more and more its just being reported when it does happen and the fact its making the news shows its not a common occurance.

I don't need to open my eyes I just wish people wouldn't catastrophise and try and make up nonsense.

thecatfromjapan · 27/06/2021 19:38

Yes.

I'm sorry I was pulled into anything like speculating.

But some of the replies are worrying me.

It's as though there's a massive campaign going on all over social media to push women away from what we know and common sense, to accept crazy stuff.

We safeguard children - for a reason.

And that safeguarding is grounded in our knowledge of child behaviour and common predatory behaviours.

This is a child. The way this has been reported is disgraceful and bloody irresponsible.

BungleandGeorge · 27/06/2021 19:39

Sexual behaviour in 10 year olds is not normal, it’s linked to having experienced child abuse and I’m suspicious of anyone trying to normalise it.

ancientgran · 27/06/2021 19:40

@IDontLikeZombies

I only know the law in Scotland but here it is illegal to have sex with anyone under the age of 16 even if you are under 16 yourself. Whether it gets reported as crime or progresses through the criminal justice system to conviction depends on whether it's in the public interest. So 2 15 year olds in a respectful and loving relationship would be of no interest to the police but a 15 year old being coerced into sex by a 13 year old very much would,with the 13 year old being the perpetrator. It gives us the flexibility to protect children when they need it. In this case, if both were under 13 both would have technically committed a crime but this would be handled as a child protection rather than a criminal one. Possibly there could be a case for child neglect against the people who should have been looking after them, I don't know.

In any case this is really sad, poor wee girl. I hope she gets the care and support she needs. Such a sad, terrible thing.

What would happen if the 13 and 15 year old had sex but neither coerced the other? Would the age difference make a difference compared to the two 15 year olds? Or indeed if two 15 year olds had sex and one was coerced?
thecatfromjapan · 27/06/2021 19:42

WTF is wrong with people?

WTF is all this obsession with sex between below-the-age-of-consent children?

Seriously, has some sort of signal gone off, somewhere?

IDontLikeZombies · 27/06/2021 19:43

I have to say, I agree with the PPs saying that the father of this wee girl's baby is unlikely to be an other 10/11 year old.
My DS is 10 and none of his mates, male or female can even say 'reproduction' in front of each other with out eating their own left foot in embarrassment.
God, that poor wee girl.

NeverNotChasingDreams · 27/06/2021 19:43

@NiceTwin

An arranged marriage is normally entered into by adults who consent to the arrangement/match. A child/forced marriage is completely different. It's a slim possibility that the child was forcibly married off to an older man, but still rape if so.
peboh · 27/06/2021 19:46

When I read this article, it absolutely broke my heart and made me feel sick to my stomach. A young girl was raped, I have zero doubts that this child is a product of sexual assault. Zero.
The fact that nobody knew makes me so angry. Where the hell were the adults protecting this child and her innocence.

kowari · 27/06/2021 19:48

@Jabba2020

The other young girl they mentioned had her child forcibly removed from her after they discovered her brother was the father. Imagine being raped, having it spread all over the news then after 2 years of being a mum your baby is removed. I hope whatever has happened in this case that lessons have been learned.
I didn't know it had been two years. Was there not a foster care place where she could have been placed with her child? She wasn't left living with the brother was she?
CharlotteRose90 · 27/06/2021 19:50

Who’s making up nonsense? That article isn’t nonsense when it’s happened to that child. Hopefully the answers come out shortly but I’m betting it wasn’t a family member for sure. Either way she needs help and support.
LynetteScavo · 27/06/2021 19:55

"The main thing is that she and the baby are OK"

How the hell is this poor child going to be OK? She's been raped and given birth. Even if she's physically "OK" there is now way she's not suffered trauma.

So, so sad that such abuse and neglect is going on in the UK today.

CharlotteRose90 · 27/06/2021 19:55

@kowari no the brother went to prison I believe after a dna proved she was his because she kept it a secret . The baby went for adoption but the mum has had another child since another girl .
