I’m so shocked by this article!!

Apologises if this has already been posted about.

Does anyone else know anything else about this? I hope her rapist will face justice. Why is it reported she’s a young mum! She’s 11, when she had sex. It’s disgusting. Horrified by this. :(

There is a possibility that the other person is also a child of a similar age.

SleepingStandingUp · 27/06/2021 17:44

@Jabba2020

The other young girl they mentioned had her child forcibly removed from her after they discovered her brother was the father. Imagine being raped, having it spread all over the news then after 2 years of being a mum your baby is removed. I hope whatever has happened in this case that lessons have been learned.
I don't understand why they'd remove the baby. If they thought the parents were implicated surely both children could be regimes together whilst she finished school
Crazysheep · 27/06/2021 17:46

I think this is absolutely disgusting. However, the people asking how her family didn't realise well I have a DD the exact same age and if she started getting a tummy etc her being pregnant would be the very last thought in my mind. Likewise I work in a primary school and wouldn't ever dream in a million years one of the pupils could be pregnant. I totally agree it was probably a family member but her parents shouldn't be flamed for not realising.

Soubriquet · 27/06/2021 17:47

I saw this too and was horrified

I don’t think she even consented (if that’s what the parents are saying). I think she was just raped

That poor child

accentdusoleil · 27/06/2021 17:48

I hope she is being looked after and can have some privacy to work through everything .

SleepingStandingUp · 27/06/2021 17:49

@Crazysheep maybe not but if she got a really swollen abdomen you'd seek medical advice surely. Let alone the sons stomach pains she's likely to have had as her body stretched. Yes people have hidden pregnancies but at 10 is be amazed is there wasn't enough belly to have worried a cing parent

Suzi888 · 27/06/2021 17:51

How a five year old could carry a child to term with nobody knowing is utterly beyond me. Horrendous situation for that poor child, I can’t imagine what she has been through. Heartbreaking.

Suzi888 · 27/06/2021 17:52

Sorry ten!

If it's the girl I am thinking of, the baby wasn't removed because of that; she wrote a book detailing her sad life. It came out several years later that her brother was the father, IIRC. After the press slated her across the tabloids.
Soubriquet · 27/06/2021 17:55

A five year old did carry a child to term in Peru. Baby was born by c-section and raised as her brother. They never identified the father

NeverNotChasingDreams · 27/06/2021 17:55

@SleepingStandingUp

There is a possibility that the other person is also a child of a similar age.
If it is, it's still a massive safeguarding issue.

This

We can't jump to the conclusion that a much older person raped her. What if she was in a relationship?

AngelDelightUk · 27/06/2021 17:58

It does say in reports that police are investigating, thank goodness. I agree with a PP that some DNA tests should go on to see who did this horrific crime

Soubriquet · 27/06/2021 17:58

If two ten year old children had sex I would be extremely concerned about two things:-

How on earth did they know about sex

And

How were they alone enough to be able to have sex

QuentinBunbury · 27/06/2021 17:59

WTAF
Ten year olds can't "be in a relationship" that involves sex. Angry

Faffandahalf · 27/06/2021 18:00

Give over spotcheck
10 year olds do not have ‘relationships’.
They have crushes and primary school ‘boyfriends’ which usually means holding hands and a peck on the lips maybe. Not sex and a pregnancy.
If the father is also 10 there are huge safeguarding issues at play.

NeverNotChasingDreams · 27/06/2021 18:00

Then it's still a safeguarding issue. At the very least, a lack of supervision has occurred, and quite possible one or both were abused by someone else. 10 year olds do not have sexual relationships without something else being badly wrong somewhere.

NeverNotChasingDreams · 27/06/2021 18:01

Actually I want to change my wording: No ten year old is in a sexual relationship ever. There is always abuse going on, somewhere, even if they are similar age.

sweetkitty · 27/06/2021 18:02

It’s horrifying poor child (both of them)

Your right it’s sick the way it’s somehow celebrating Britain’s Youngest Mum, err no a child aged 10 has been raped Angry

AngeloMysterioso · 27/06/2021 18:03

Unless this child was very tall and really enormously overweight to begin with I simply don’t see how anybody could have not noticed. On a healthy sized adult woman’s body pregnancy is a very specific type of weight gain, surely in a child it would be even more apparent? Even if pregnancy wasn’t suspected at first it would at least be enough to warrant a visit to the GP.

Viviennemary · 27/06/2021 18:04

I think there should be an effort made to trace the father. In a relationship at 10?? What on earth is the world coming to.

Summerplans7 · 27/06/2021 18:05

10 when she had sex

You mean “10 when she was raped”.

The salacious reporting of this is vile. I haven’t - and won’t - go to the link to give the newspaper more clicks, but I know what the content is from another site that is urging people to report newspapers for the way they are wording the articles about this.

Tinysalmonswimminginastream · 27/06/2021 18:05

I agree, the reporting on this has been abhorrent. This is a child who has been raped for fucks sake.

Jent13c · 27/06/2021 18:05

I could barely even read the headline. Heartbreaking. I was just saying to DH that I don't really remember a lot from 10, you would hope that she would forget a lot of what she has been through. But then admittedly I didn't face any trauma at 11. And also she has had to go through the hormonal changes of pregnancy and birth and the beginnings of lactation. Its not like she can just forget about it even if she chose not to have the baby close. There is literally no good outcome here, each option is horrific.

Tinysalmonswimminginastream · 27/06/2021 18:06

Huh?
