I’m trying a really odd diet and hope it works

So, with the lockdown and stress and being with DH, I slowly started eating more sugar and bread. And wine.

I feel I could do with losing 3 kgs and detoxing my body. But I have no motivation to diet. I really don’t.

I couldn’t keep up with 16:8, 5:2 or calorie counting.

So I did a random search on the net hoping for a miracle, easy solution.

And I found this somewhat wacky diet I am trying out. I’m only in the second day. Five more to go!

First day was unlimited fruit (but only one variety). I slipped up in the morning and had a croissant and a sweet. But then stuck with watermelon all day. And took a brisk walk.

Today is veg in any form. Had tomato soup and beetroot salad. I’m feeling a tiny bit hungry. But much better than yesterday.

I feel less foggy and bloated. I can’t wait for tomorrow when I can have fruit And veg (except for potatoes and bananas). 😃

Lol what a weird diet I've just looked it up.

I'd never try it, doesn't appeal to me. I love eating a healthy balanced diet - I'm on slimming world.

But your daily updates are funny so I must keep checking in on this thread 😂

Gorgeouslilgirl · 26/06/2021 15:11

For a banana and yogurt day it has been quite eventful.

I woke up feeling really good. I did some yoga. Well, it was only 10 minutes of stretching but it felt good.

I wasn’t hungry, just very thirsty. I had warm lemon and water. And then DH and I had banana with yogurt. It was nice to have something together, as I didn’t join him for early morning coffee and brioche.

I had half of my bowl and realised i was full Shock. So I put it away in a takeaway pot. And got ready to go for our vaccination. I also packed a bow of cherries for DH.

We browsed through some vintage shops (I found an old sewing machine, yay!) and DH started feeling hungry.

So we went to a bakery. I ordered two take away coffees. And right in the front of the counter....freshly baked Jesuites! They looked perfect, with a generous wobbly filling and flaky pastry!

I asked DH if he wanted one. I’m not sure I would have been able to resist a bite. Thankfully (?) he said no, and I picked up a sausage roll for him.

We sat in the car and munched companionably. He had sausage roll and coffee followed by cherries. I had coffee with my leftover yogurt and banana. I never though warm yogurt and brown, mushy banana would taste so good. 😂

We got vaccinated, took photos of each other to Mark the occasion and came home.

I had some more yogurt and banana. Easy! Then went to bed with a cup of herbal tea.
DH had yogurt and berries (not sure why I can’t have berries on this diet?) with me.

he then had meat and potatoes. And some of my beetroot soup from yesterday which he said was delicious.

Dh has now kindly bought me some milky tea. Heavenly.

You know the feeling when you leave a noisy room and escape to a quiet space! The relief, and the way one’s body unwinds and relaxes. That’s how I feel with this diet. It is as if I had a lot of food noise and it has all slowed down and my stomach can finally relax 😊

And again, thank you all so much.

For your kind appreciative words as well as your disparagement (is that’s word?). It’s all motivation to keep going for three more days!

Have you had your full six banana's yet? I mean, they are really filling

Gorgeouslilgirl · 26/06/2021 17:03

Not yet itwa. I probably have had two and a half?

I might have another for dinner with some more yogurt. But that’s it. You are right, they are filling!

Gorgeouslilgirl · 26/06/2021 17:05

I’m having more yogurt than banana. And I think it is meant to be the other way around!

Good morning! I weighed myself first thing today and I have lost 1.8 kgs overall. So 1.2 kgs more to go!

I haven’t been having ahem, appropriate bowel activity. So next time I’ll take a laxative with this diet. Or drink lots of coffee!

Yesterday’s diet quite easy really. I had 5-6 bananas and 5 bowls of yogurt over the day. I felt utterly stuffed and full at night. But not bloated.

I think you are supposed to have low fat, but I had full fat as that’s what I have at home.

It was perfect for a vaccination day as I had no energy to cook. Today I’ll stick with boiled eggs (2 per meal) and a tomato ‘salad’ to accompany.

Lol at all of this.
'Freshly baked Jesuites' and 'munching companiably'

Badabingbadabum · 27/06/2021 09:04

24MaMaD1990 if I had as much fruit as the OP, slow bowels would not be the problem!

lardylegs123 · 27/06/2021 09:45

Sounds interesting! Grin
I'd be surprised if you're allowed to make soups though. Don't the vegetables have to be eaten in their whole form?
I remember doing Slimming World a while back and we could eat unlimited strawberries, for example, but weren't allowed to blend them into a smoothie.
Good luck anyway!

FlosCampi · 27/06/2021 10:00

Your writing style is very charming and perhaps unintentionally hilarious OP! My friend once introduced me to a diet based on the premise that the blood types reflect early human roles in society, so AB were nomads who could eat mostly beef, horse etc, O were gatherers with a list centred on berries. My A+ group were the hunters. Our list was insane: I remember swordfish featured a lot, and " shark in moderation ". It was good to have that proviso mentioned, because shark is exactly what most people snack on while cooking, making the packed lunches etc.

Gorgeouslilgirl · 27/06/2021 11:45

“Shark in moderation” 🤣🤣

To pp, I wish I had more cherries on day 2! I held back because of the warnings here on their supposedly purgative properties.

I think soups are ok. Smoothies are different I suppose in that they could lead to a sugar high. They aren’t diluted the way soups are. I’m not sure though.

Next time I’ll probably get the hang of it and read up on the dos and don’ts 😊

We went out for coffee this morning. Dh had some lovely chocolate covered oranges with his espresso and I didn’t feel any craving (well just a tiny longing).

Ive just had two boiled eggs and a tomato salad. And I feel full!

I think I’m on the path to a re-set 😃

Thats hilarious. I looked at the A type diet and its basically vegetarian. I think I stuck with it for 2 days, too restrictive! Just eat a varied diet.

MistySkiesAfterRain · 28/06/2021 01:13

I do agree with giving the digestive system a break, I bet you will feel amazing tomorrow op.

I eat little and often so I feel like I eat all day! This is a good way for me to eat because I never really feel hungry but by the weekend I feel like just not eating for once and am happy with a big soup one day.

Maireas · 28/06/2021 06:34

General Motors diet? It'll have you running like a Chevrolet!
I think some people didn't concentrate in biology at school, though. A lot of myths about "detoxing" and the digestive system.

Gorgeouslilgirl · 28/06/2021 07:21

Misty, thanks I do feel good today. The eating little and often does seem to work.

Although yesterday I ate quite little. I was still feeling full after the banana and yogurt day. Perhaps I shouldn’t have had 5 full fat yogurts! 😂

It might have been the diet or it might have been the vaccine but I was tired yesterday. And constipated.

After a couple of espressos in the morning out with DH, I enjoyed two boiled eggs and a tomato salad for brunch. And then I puttered around the house. Took the dog for a long walk.

And had just one scrambled egg and two tomatoes for dinner. I was really quite full and didn’t feel like eating more.

I feel great today. I’ll probably pop over to the pharmacy for a laxative. And I’m armed with fresh salads and vegetables for the all veg (except potatoes) day today. I can also have a single source of protein - I can’t decide whether to continue with eggs. Or switch to ricotta. Or perhaps tofu?

I weighed myself when I woke up. I’ve lost 2.2 kgs out of my target of 3 kgs. And I can see it the difference in my tummy. And DH said my face had some kind of glow.

Just today and tomorrow left!

@Gorgeouslilgirl

😂

Each day so special
Day 1 - Fruit day (but only one type of fruit if your choice). So easy and no decision fatigue
Day 2 - all veg except potatoes (can have one in the morning). A bit harder as this veg or fruit debate here illustrates.
Day 3 - fruits and veg. So easy again!
Day 4 - is jackpot. Six big bananas and milk. I’ll have yogurt instead. Maybe some cream too.

Day 5- unlimited eggs and 6 tomatoes

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Gorgeouslilgirl · 30/06/2021 07:20

I’m done! I lost 2.9 kgs out of my target 3kgs. I feel the difference around my waist and on my skin. It is clearer.

I feel...cleansed I suppose. And ready to reset my eating habits.

Thanks everyone for your support
