The first ones that stand out for me were one which was a huge bun fight about piercing babies ears.

The other one was by an obviously depressed mum whose house was a tip and the social worker was coming to visit soon (there was no sympathy to be had)

OP posts:

And Terry Wogan's cock.

I remember:
Cutted up pear
Cubes of poo
Yoni (rings a bell)
The one where the OP was watching a car parked near her house with people in it all day

AliceSprings123 · 14/05/2021 23:05

Pom Bears anyone?Grin

Fond memories of that Easter Bonnet one and the terrified chicks, and Cutted up pear.

KeyboardWorriers · 14/05/2021 23:07

Oh yes yoni person Grin and cutted up pear...
Also a really traumatic one about a man in his shed doing something really weird. I want to say something to do with his penis and a grater but I hope I am wrong.

Penis beaker was a bit later and was most astonishing.

Also the early MLM threads where people were digging and we were all discovering just how widespread and pervasive the scam was at every level in MLMs.

I've been here for a long time, I remember a lot of threads about saving cafe tables whilst others queued up to get the food.
One thread I remember was a mum who admitted to grabbing her young child by the ankles and dipping him into the chest freezer once a week and whatever he grabbed they would have for a Friday night freezer tea. I was in hysterics!

Apileofballyhoo · 14/05/2021 23:09

There was a thread around the time I joined started by a woman whose DH was having an emotional affair. The two families were friends originally I think, and her DH was a music tutor. I think. I often think of her when these kind of threads pop up.

The savaged minmin had me screaming with laughter. It made it to Classics.

Ophelia Rose and the twins 🤔

ForgedInFire · 14/05/2021 23:16

Actually I know the first thread I remember- Bing was a fairly new show and there were no toys out for it yet. A mum had lovingly hand knitted a toy Bing for her child. Another mum admired it at the park, and upon hearing that it wasn't available for sale, stole it from the OPS child when she wasn't looking. Does anybody remember that?

IhateBoswell · 14/05/2021 23:19

Aww yes I remember the Bing thread.

Sparklingbrook · 14/05/2021 23:29

Something about a sleepover and boys not getting their wee into the toilet.
If it was Penis Beaker I would not be here now. I’d have backed away slowly and never returned. What a load of made up cobblers it was.

spiderlight · 14/05/2021 23:41

Bobble plate, first time round, and someone who was very irate because her nanny had fed her child fresh pasta from a packet instead of making it from scratch.

MuddySocks · 14/05/2021 23:43

I hadn't seen that one - fabulous!! 😂

Hen2018 · 14/05/2021 23:49

The one with the foster carer who looked after a baby withdrawing from drugs. I can’t even type about how that thread continued, it’s too sad.

Animum2 · 14/05/2021 23:55

The very 1st thread I read was something someone put a link on Twitter.

It was the lady who fostered a drug addicted baby and then the lady died of cancer, that was a very inspiring thread and I was sad to learn that she died

Animum2 · 14/05/2021 23:57

@hen2018 - I didn't see your thread till after I posted mine, I've since reread that thread and it still gets to me

RainySaturday · 15/05/2021 00:01

I remember crying laughing about the woman on the country lane who was fed up of reversing her car for the car she met every day coming in the opposite direction. She ended up having a Mexican stand off with the other driver who was always in her mobile while driving.

LostInWales · 15/05/2021 00:03

@SpornStar it was red lego but boy am I proud you remember, that was such a fun thread (in the midst of a rather un fun moment) I believe there was poetry? Never did find the lego.

I found MN to try and support someone I loved through a miscarriage and ended up watching baffled in the midst of mouldygate.

MuddySocks · 15/05/2021 06:38

@SlightlyJaded

I have been here since about 2004 and the thread that made me join was a Pedlars one. I don't even know if Pedlars still exists but it was one of the first 'vintage sourced homeware shite' sites and there were pages and pages of 'finds' like 'Genuine vintage rustic spanner sourced from Citroen disused factory in Nimes - £295' and the pages of wit and commentary made me cry with laughter.

Soon after joining, I came across Sinister Easter Bonnet, River of Sweetcorn, Booble Plate and then followed 'live' as Shiny spied on her 'D'P being stood up by his mysterious phone OW (also Shiny) at the Penguin Enclosure at Bird Word.

😂😂😂

LongPauseNoAnswer · 15/05/2021 06:43

I don’t know if it was my first but I definitely remember the little Korean lady thread.

Whingey · 15/05/2021 06:58

Fly space on bus!will we ever find out?
