Why are you awake?

One of these threads got me through three nights of early labour so I thought I'd start a new one.

My 5 month old is going through a painful sleep regression and I'm struggling to get her back in the crib. She's snoring gently on my chest while I feel nauseous with exhaustion....

Who else is awake? What are you up to tonight?

Frownette · 01/04/2021 01:36

Hope he's ok.

I'm up as I desperately need to take a shower but the boys have made a mess of it so it gives me the heebie jeebies just looking at it. At some point I need to find my marigolds and my backbone and clean the damn thing so I can wash myself.

I'll watch something else first though.

YukoandHiro · 01/04/2021 01:53

That's impressive, I couldn't take on cleaning at this time!

Ugh I'm so prone to health anxiety. I had counselling and I was doing so well, but this last year has been terrible and set me back so far, especially as DH and I are both high risk and have two kids under 4.

I'm dreading my eldest starting school in September with this hanging over us.

Just hope DH feels well again in the morning.

@ YukoandHiro hope he’s OK soon. Would he take a test if you ordered them? Having a child in nursery you can pickup lateral flow tests. While i appreciate CR should be used for symptomatic people it may give some reassurance

I am up as my stomach is not much better and not getting anywhere with getting tests from my GP.

@ YukoandHiro remember cases are now low. Your vaccination will most likely give a lot of protection. We are in a much better place than a year ago with COVID and its almost 6 months before school.

YukoandHiro · 01/04/2021 02:24

@GoodNewsAhead I didn't realise we were allowed to order lateral flows (thought that was just for school) but I've just looked it up and you're right.

I'll probably ask him if he'll take a PCR if he's coughing in the morning as we're seeing my parents at the weekend (we're in an under-one bubble) and don't want to take anything there with us, but that's great to know about LFTs for the weeks after Easter. That would really reassure me actually

I had a horribly distressing call with psychology earlier (about what I was remembering, the therapist couldn’t have been more wonderful) and can’t get it out of my mind now . Have spoken to a friend and trying to calm down a bit .

blackheartsgirl · 01/04/2021 02:32

I had a bad dream which really has unnerved me especially as I woke up and could smell smoke (which was what my dream was about)

My knee also hurts

Now I'm hungry 😕

Jellybean81 · 01/04/2021 02:34

I'm back again. Hoping posting works as well as it did last time - I nodded off right after. I'm 24 weeks and in so much hip pain 😞 I think I need to take some paracetamol but can't face the stairs. I'm hoping my OH wakes up soon so I can ask him to get it for me. Any hints or tips for hip pain?

YukoandHiro · 01/04/2021 02:44

Aww @Jellybean81 no advice but sleep while pregnant is just the worst.

Can't believe I'm lying here awake all night again. Really not doing well this week!

I'm with you.. 2.5 year old currently screaming, it's killing me it really is.. I don't know what to do any more.. I bring her into my room she fidgets so much and wants to chat to me so we get no sleep whatsoever.. I leave her and she just screams and is heartbreaking so I end up giving in... I'm literally dying from the sleep deprivation..

Sirzy · 01/04/2021 03:19

I have just turned Ds feeding pump off when his dose was done. Now I can’t get back to sleep I’m desperate for a drink but that would mean moving which I haven’t got energy for and risks disturbing Ds who is just settling back down.

I hope you get both a drink and some sleep soon.
QueenPaw · 01/04/2021 03:21

Insomnia for a week Sad
Any recommendations for CBD/sleeping tablets/anything very welcome!
I'm so tired I'm panicky through the day and feel jittery

Pebbledashery · 01/04/2021 03:22

I just want to cry, 😢

lightand · 01/04/2021 03:37

Have not rtft.
Am going through big financial and life changes.
When something big is happening, my mind chooses to use the nights to process!
I was awake for 2 and 1/2 hours last night, and I write lots about different aspects of what is going on.
Looks like tonight is following the same pattern.

BeautySandra · 01/04/2021 03:37

My eldest woke me up, she a headache and raised temperature so went downstairs to get her some calpol. I can’t sleep now , I’m in her room every half an hour checking in her even though she is sleeping soundly nowSmile

doritodiva · 01/04/2021 03:42

Feeding week old baby and just generally worrying about everything.

swampytiggaa · 01/04/2021 03:44

Waiting to go to work. I start at 4am 🥱

YukoandHiro · 01/04/2021 03:44

What's wrong @Pebbledashery?

OP posts:
YukoandHiro · 01/04/2021 03:47

Oh just seen your other message! Ugh it's so hard. We went through a phase of night parties at that age.
Mine was also a screamer. I bought her a full adult single bed and got in with her when needed. She settled better in her own bed. L

OP posts:
Pebbledashery · 01/04/2021 03:51

I haven't made the transition to single bed yet as it's just going to be horrific.. She screams all night then wakes up at 5am it's just horrible.. I physically and mentally cannot cope with any more nights of no sleep its slowly killing me.

Pyewackect · 01/04/2021 03:53

@dalmatianmad

Night shift, I'm a sister in A+E. Just on my break. Its been bloody horrible so far!
On my break too. I was seconded to ITU for 12 months but now back to my “day job” as Matron. Covering A&E as they are short staffed tonight.
Smile3 · 01/04/2021 03:55

I'm here again too! My 2year old woke up again but hes fell asleep now, I cant just shut off I decided to abruptly come off citalopram they helped loads and I would recommend them but I wanted to see how I feel with out them. I'm absolutely fine during the day but I'm sometimes getting my pit of the stomach anxiety. I'm hoping this will change soon as read I shouldn't of come off them by just stopping but its done now. They got me through a difficult time and my head/life had improved but saying that I'm hoping that if I wasnt disturbed by my little 1 my anxiety wouldn't of woke me. Hmm

Longingforatikihut · 01/04/2021 03:56

I have vertigo and every time I Close my eyes it feels like the room spins and I want to through up. So I open my eyes and the room actually spins and I want to throw up. I'm meant to back at work in a few hours after a week of annual leave and i expect my colleagues will think I'm milking it if I call in sick.

MissCrowley · 01/04/2021 04:12

@YukoandHiro
Weve all had a bad cold here. I'm up because my son now has croup and as an asthmatic it scares me to death.
I had a Covid test yesterday to rule it out as we've all been so ill and it's negative. Our colds were very snotty too. Hope your DH is ok.
