I'm not saying what this relates to and I'd ask everybody who knows not to say either for obvious legal reasons but I just wanted to post that I feel v sad about the news tonight.
I know there are posters who will be personally affected and just wanted to say my thoughts are with all who've loved and lost tonight. I wish it was otherwise.

ThanksThanksThanks

@NFLwidow

She should have been headline news from the moment she went missing. Instead the focus was on the circus that is Harry and Meghan/piers. RIP Sarah
It was, I saw it all over the news from late last week.
SirVixofVixHall · 10/03/2021 22:51

I feel so upset and angry . This could have been any of us, or a friend, a sister, a daughter, a mother.
I have two daughters who have never yet walked alone in the evening, but are getting closer to the age where they will. What the hell is wrong with men that women are still not safe to simply walk home ?
Men on twitter saying they will teach their daughters self defence. How about you sort your own house out ? Why is the onus on us not to be killed, rather than on you to stop killing us ?
Because women are not safe anywhere. Not on the streets at night, not on the streets in the daytime, not at home alone, or at home with their partner.
Furious that this young woman has been killed, and her family also destroyed.

I think you’re wasting your time ! No matter what you, I or others say some people just don’t get it. Even MNHQ has posted.

@HeathIns You are absolutely right. It just astounds me that posters don’t think of the bigger picture and don’t care about that.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 10/03/2021 22:57

RIP Sarah

Wellthatwassilly · 10/03/2021 22:58

My thoughts are with Sarah's family and friendsFlowers

Piccalino3 · 10/03/2021 22:58

I feel so very sad tonight. Sad for Sarah, sad for her family and friends and sad that we all live with the knowledge that as women we are not safe, even from those who are meant to protect us. I can't comprehend how a young woman's life can just be snuffed out on the whim of a deranged man. I wish her family strength to get through the horrific times ahead and I hope they can always feel her presence with them and find peace.

alexdgr8 · 10/03/2021 22:58

let us hope that such people who have no respect for the law, are never called for jury service.
this is not ignorance. this is cussedness. =i can do what i want, who cares what the law is. i will not exercise any self discipline, why should i.

MouthAche · 10/03/2021 22:58

But the mans name, job and exactly where he worked, and as what, his picture and his house have already been in the paper and in news outlets.

So why is a link to it not allowed?

I dont get it

MouthAche · 10/03/2021 22:59

4 of my family members have been spoken to about her by the police

Its very scary times

robertsmithscorpsebride · 10/03/2021 23:00

Exactly my thoughts @SirVixofVixHall

PatchworkElmer · 10/03/2021 23:00

It really upsets me actually.

blackbettybramblejam · 10/03/2021 23:01

Just unthinkable for the family. Devastating.

IFoundMyselfInThisBar · 10/03/2021 23:01

❤️ Sarah.

Things have to change.

RedcurrantPuff · 10/03/2021 23:02

I keep replying to your posts with the same thing but - I agree Alex!

I think the whole point of this thread was to not post headlines and articles.
Op made that quite clear. The thread will get pulled now...[/quote]
No, it's speculation that MNHQ wants to avoid, not the posting of headlines in the public domain.

I agree.
alexdgr8 · 10/03/2021 23:05

those details are within the reporting restrictions.
they are matters of fact, eg john smith has been arrested in connection with the robbery at cashco bank.
whereas on here people are speculating, saying things like, wow, john smith, wasn't he a security guard at the bank, who'd have thought he was in on it.
can you see the difference. a person is not guilty until so convicted, and that is for the court to determine.
therefore it is prejudicial to assume guilt.

i think i better stop reading all this now.
i actually care about justice, and trying to show how its operation can be hindered by these wild speculations, gossip etc.
because justice matters. doesn't it.
but i am getting exasperated.
