This morning I was worried about bringing in my emptied recycling boxes in case the neighbours thought I'd forgotten to put them out
This is clearly lunacy. I have never cared in my life about what anyone else thinks
Anyone else? Please tell me I'm not alone in my madness!

@Saz12

Let's see your rug ShockSmile

StCharlotte · 19/02/2021 18:53

I haven't been shielding but I have been wfh. Had my first vaccine jab today. I wore a new dress and painted my nails for the occasion.

Ace1185 · 19/02/2021 18:54

I'm blaming lockdown for me cleaning the trampoline with a hand brush and zoflora then pressure washing it Hmm

babyyodaxmas · 19/02/2021 19:13

I paid a cheque in today. A bona fida reason to leave the house.

DoubleHelix79 · 19/02/2021 19:22

@Silkies

I also find myself looking at holidays that I can't go on or planning imaginary ones. I sometimes watch youtube clips of places so I can have an imaginary holiday now. I'm going round Borneo atm.
I woke up at some ungodly hour this morning (thank you pregnancy) and somehow felt I needed to think through the logistics of holidaying with DHs family in the Alps in great detail - who could stay where, how we could keep DNiece13 entertained etc. Note that this is a holiday we haven't even discussed with them, let alone something they've agreed on.
Ardagusdubh · 19/02/2021 20:08

These have given me such a laugh! I haven’t been well since Christmas and was over joyed a couple of weeks ago when I had to go for blood tests and an ecg. I’ve got a mammogram next week, actually can’t wait Grin

BeautyQueenIamNot · 19/02/2021 20:17

I got excited about going to buy some screws from screw fix Grin

fluffythedragonslayer · 19/02/2021 23:17

@SummerHouse

Me and DH have had a detailed debate about what a 'ghostie' is. I think it's a poo that disappears straight down the u bend so you never lay eyes on it. DH thinks it's a poo that leaves cleanly so the toilet paper is clear when you wipe.

So sorry. Felt compelled to share which is no doubt part of the same problem.

(Not even a poo troll).

You are correct. What your husband is referring to is an Angel Shit 😇💩

@PursuingProxemicExactitude

I've started talking to myself.

I don't mean "must take that washing out" talk. I mean asking myself a question, and answering in a different voice.

And this morning I had a friendly conversation with the abandoned bobble of a lost hat. Shock

Not sure whether to be concerned or not. Hmm

Grin

I’m having increasingly elaborate if one sided conversations with our cat.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 20/02/2021 19:01

I went to have an emergency coil fitted, I was so thrilled to wear clothes that weren't uniform of my pjs, the lovely nurse commented that I looked lovely and summery and I was ridiculously pleased. I have called everyone to tell them how nice they were to me there. Blush

Lindy2 · 20/02/2021 19:16

DH and I went out to the bank the other day. We use different banks in the same town so we both needed to go. It was like a date - the 2 of us out together.

Lindy2 · 20/02/2021 19:18

I also had a dream about having a meal in a pub. It was the best dream ever. It actually felt like I was there having a nice time.

summers2016 · 20/02/2021 19:27

Saz12

I’ve just finished hand-knitting a rug. I’ve not knitted anything since I was about 8, and hated it then. The rug looks shit.

That made me laugh!

RuledbyASD · 20/02/2021 19:45

@Teandsympathy

I spent the afternoon working in the top bunk in my dds bedroom just to get some peace.
If I did that, I'd fall through to the bottom bunk! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
thefirstmrsrochester · 20/02/2021 20:10

I’ve been leaving cat food off the click and collect shop so I can have the excuse to go into Pets at Home for some (and so visit the rabbits and guinea pigs when I’m there to say hello).

iklboo · 20/02/2021 20:14

I think I can now understand what the cats are saying with their different meows.

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 20/02/2021 20:31

Dh is like a caged wolf and he is practically a hermit in normal times.
He's started to get me to go for walks with him, I hate walks, yet I get my hiking boots on and off we go. I'm debating doing some cleaning, Dh usually cleans but I think I may pinch some of his jobs off him.

StareIntotheMaggotDrawer · 20/02/2021 20:53

Today, something was clanging around in the washing machine, and I found myself shimmying to the rhythm of it.

MaudesMum · 20/02/2021 20:54

I apologised to one of my mugs the other day for not having used it for a while. Out loud.

alltoomuchrightnow · 20/02/2021 21:54

I got excited to wear new jumper to Superdrug and Holland & Barratt

duckme · 20/02/2021 22:02

@Emelene
I feel you, I really do. There have been times when I didn't want to get out of bed because, what's the point? Then the guilt you feel for feeling that way becomes overwhelming and you just want to hide away.
I hope you feel a little better today.

Back to the question, up until recently (when the series ended) we (me, husband and two teenagers) really enjoyed watching the new series of Grand Designs and watching with way more anticipation than is normal, for the date to hit March 2020. It was edge of your seat stuff, waiting to see how much they'd get done before corona landed.

Silkies · 20/02/2021 22:08

I said to DD who is DH talking to downstairs and she replied oh he's just talking to the cat again.

We also decided to make our Saturday more exciting by ordering a Chinese from the next village rather than our village.

I also had an e-mail from an old friend in New Zealand saying how life was almost normal there.

Wannabangbang · 20/02/2021 22:10

Got excited about visiting the local sainsburys to buy sweets

Silkies · 20/02/2021 22:11

And I looked up more imaginary holidays but it was all booked up except camping. I then asked DD if she would like to go camping. We both hate camping.

bumblingbovine49 · 20/02/2021 22:23

When you realise the butterflies in your stomach when thinking about your upcoming two hours of root canal work at the dentist are because of excitement not nervousness. This is because 1) your tooth will stop hurting and 2)Well it's a a trip out that isn't a walk or the supermarket isn't it?. What's not.to like?Wink
