This morning I was worried about bringing in my emptied recycling boxes in case the neighbours thought I'd forgotten to put them out
This is clearly lunacy. I have never cared in my life about what anyone else thinks
Anyone else? Please tell me I'm not alone in my madness!

I have my smear test booked next week and I'm really looking forward to it Blush I'm actually going to see another adult! And be inside a building that isn't my house! Shock

Bubbinsmakesthree · 19/02/2021 15:58

I’ve started reading mumsnet again, I’m that bored Wink

emmathedilemma · 19/02/2021 15:59

I had mine earlier this week - i was just thrilled to see someone else, go somewhere other than the bloody park and have a lie down for a few mins! Took extra care doing my lashes in the morning just for the nurse 🤣

On a whim I decided to make some new kitchen curtains today out of whatever fabric I had in the house. Now we have tab top cafe style curtains made of this.

Luckily our house and style is eccentric and we like day of the dead stuff.

Allypally12 · 19/02/2021 16:03

I’ve stopped exercising, wearing lipstick and I now think acceptable to pour myself a glass of wine as early as 3.30pm Blush

Teandsympathy · 19/02/2021 16:07

I spent the afternoon working in the top bunk in my dds bedroom just to get some peace.

crispsahoy · 19/02/2021 16:07

I've started doing toilet roll origami!
And spent yesterday spent the day cleaning the top of my kitchen cupboards!

RJnomore1 · 19/02/2021 16:08

I don’t think any of my nice clothes fit any more. I’m telling DH the same stories 2 or 3 times. I keep signing up for online learning courses. My hair is wild.

Sparklfairy · 19/02/2021 16:09

My DM has those jar/tub things on her worktop labelled 'bread' 'biscuits' and 'coffee'. Pointless really as she doesn't eat bread or biscuits so the first two remain empty at all times. The latter is always on the go as I drink a lot of coffee.

I go to make one, notice the coffee is getting empty so go to refill it as the kettle is boiling. I pour straight from the jar, into my mug instead of the thing labelled 'coffee'.

Despite there being about 20 cups worth of instant in the mug, I added water and drank it anyway. It was like chewing tobacco and was disgusting. I still finished it rather than chuck it away and make a fresh one.

It was like masochistic lockdown laziness took over.

HunterAngel · 19/02/2021 16:11

Went in to town yesterday. A place I haven’t been for nearly six months. What an experience! I was actually excited to be there. I was only going to the bank and it was pouring with rain but it was kinda thrilling to be somewhere that wasn’t home or work

Glittertwins · 19/02/2021 16:12

I love those curtains @HalfShrunkMoreToGo !
DD would too

HollysBush · 19/02/2021 16:16

...you think it’s a good idea to try to strip the wood chip wallpaper off the very high stair well. SUCH a mess.

rookiemere · 19/02/2021 16:17

I was overly excited by an emergency trip to the dentists on Wednesday. Seriously considering a change of career to dental receptionist, so I could actually go to work instead of wfh and be with people.

WaitingforToto · 19/02/2021 16:17

I pierced my ears the other day just for something to do 🤪

Emelene · 19/02/2021 16:18

Currently sat in the car, crying, with baby asleep in the back after my first walk with another mum in 2 months. I'm parked outside my house and don't want to go back to my (lovely) husband and toddler and all the noise and mess. I just feel so overwhelmed. ☹️

abstractzebra · 19/02/2021 16:18

We've been overly excited because a slug got into my daughter's bedroom!
It was tiny but it's the most exciting thing that's happened this week Confused

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 19/02/2021 16:18

halfshrunk I like the curtains! Smile

MissKittyKitty · 19/02/2021 16:24

You hack at your own hair. I figured that the hairdressers' won't be open until at least April so on Wednesday I took some scissors to my hair.

It actually looks okay and is a damn sight better than it was. Wink

alliejay81 · 19/02/2021 16:30

When I started to empathise with Rapunzel in Tangled.

Hair that won't stop growing, done all the chores by 7am, locked inside, life on hold... I have DH so at least I have no need of a Flynn Ryder character!

Also, to carry on the craft theme I've taken up cross stitch... it requires virtually no talent and is almost impossible to go wrong which is needed for any craft I partake in!!

SummerHouse · 19/02/2021 16:34

@emelene I am emotional just reading your post. I totally hear you. I found the change from one child to two utterly overwhelming. I remember looking at DS as a new baby and just thinking this is too much! I can't deal with the worry times two. The responsibility! And that was not in lockdown when a potentially isolating life change is coupled with nationally enforced isolation. Can you meet your friend more often? Please know it does get easier. Flowers

Nannewnannew · 19/02/2021 16:41

I’ve started doing Sudoku despite the fact that I hate it and am hopeless at it. Why am I punishing myself? Even the easy ones don’t make sense!

Mildmanneredmum · 19/02/2021 16:41

I polished my apples in the fruit bowl until they shone

Shrivelled · 19/02/2021 16:44

@SummerHouse you’re correct and your DH is talking about a “one wipe wonder”. You’re welcome Smile

Shrivelled · 19/02/2021 16:45

Sitting in the car on the drive with the kids just for a change of scenery.
