This morning I was worried about bringing in my emptied recycling boxes in case the neighbours thought I'd forgotten to put them out
This is clearly lunacy. I have never cared in my life about what anyone else thinks
Anyone else? Please tell me I'm not alone in my madness!

Started talking to my amaryllis this week, how sad is that.

I8toys · 19/02/2021 16:48

I get excited about my only trip out all week on a Thursday to Lidl to see what's in the middle aisle of shite.

PenguinIce · 19/02/2021 16:51

When I went to the supermarket the other evening I parked right at the back near where all the ‘boy racers’ were parked just so I could speak to some people other than my family. The risk of them hitting my car whilst doing their doughnuts was worth it for the conversation that was brief but oh so satisfying! (Conversation was only,
Me: “Evening lads” followed by grunts of “yep/alrite/sup”).

ifitpleasesandsparkles · 19/02/2021 16:55

A bath is an event. I don't like baths. I like showers. But baths kill more time.

😞

Chottie · 19/02/2021 16:55

DH was going to B&Q, I went with him just to sit in the car outside and people watch......

BeastOfBODMAS · 19/02/2021 16:55

I nearly went outdoors today.

I put my coat and shoes on, opened the front door, observed that the bin men had put the recycling boxes back where they live, shut the door, removed coat and shoes again.

I then had a cuppa and a long sit down to recover from the excitement.

I found that all three of us (me, DP and the DDog) all stand at the window when the postie is doing her rounds. We live in a close so can see her go all the way around it and we are last on her round. The disappointment when nothing plops through the letterbox is palpable.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 19/02/2021 17:00

I suggested to DH that we move house purely to have something to do

GBand · 19/02/2021 17:00

I'm a community nurse. I needed a wee between patients. I went to Sainsbury's and asked the ladies at the entrance if I could please use the toilet. I felt so guilty as I wasn't buying anything.

I can't remember the last time I set foot in a supermarket. Was also very worried about getting lynched as I was clearly in uniform.

Gwenhwyfar · 19/02/2021 17:03

"Not me, but my friend. She is a real introvert and has always hated socialising. She has always preferred staying in and would much rather just curl up in front of the TV than join her friends on a night out."

I think quite a few introverts have found out that it's not exactly the same as being a recluse and have realised they do need a little bit of human contact.

gingercatsarebest · 19/02/2021 17:06

I let DD, 11 cut my hair..not a bad job!

Redsquirrel5 · 19/02/2021 17:07

I am about to start crocheting a rug. I found the wool today. I didn’t have time for it before.

DH and I are lucky as we have four walks we can do from our house. Every two weeks we go on one walk with pickers and pick up the rubbish on our lovely, country road.

Wednesday, we went to the small supermarket within a garden centre. I needed to get some covering for the chickens as the other one ripped in the wind. DH told me to “come on” because I was telling the guy there about my chickens. He was very polite and was listening but I was obviously talking too much. DH doesn’t speak much so I don’t get much conversation in the house. I have only seen two people in the last two weeks.

We’ve bought a greenhouse. There is a site for them and people post pictures of there greenhouse arriving in the van then updates with captions like. “ I’m so excited I can see the van pulling up.” And everyone agrees 🤣
I didn’t have to persuade DH. He sent off for three greenhouse catalogues and spent a couples days looking at them. After ordering it he took apart one of the raised bed and raked it all until it was even. DH isn’t a very keen garden. Minimum done until last year.

@SummerHouse

Me and DH have had a detailed debate about what a 'ghostie' is. I think it's a poo that disappears straight down the u bend so you never lay eyes on it. DH thinks it's a poo that leaves cleanly so the toilet paper is clear when you wipe.

So sorry. Felt compelled to share which is no doubt part of the same problem.

(Not even a poo troll).

The second one’s a “Lucky Barry”! (Sorry too much time on my hands!)
TroyTown · 19/02/2021 17:12

Took a whole load of my clothes and shoes to the recycling bank and thoroughly enjoyed it. That was on Thursday.

DamsonDress · 19/02/2021 17:17

Going Out, even to the shops, is quite the event these days.

So much so I can put on a full face of make-up and do my hair to pick up milk and bread.

The other day I had to take car to the garage and go to the shop. I genuinely wondered for a moment if I'd made TOO much of an effort. Was I too fabulous? Then I realised simply washing my hair and wearing my best leggings and a clean hoodie was unlikely to turn heads or stop traffic.

DoubleHelix79 · 19/02/2021 17:20

I'm expecting a delivery today - oh, the excitement! And I have the whole weekend to look forward to my routine midwife appointment on Monday.

mimi0708 · 19/02/2021 17:23

I started putting on YouTube watching other people study while I am studying 😂 I find I'm more motivated when I see other people doing it

SummerHouse · 19/02/2021 17:24

Thank you @Ishoos you have made my day although the bar is set very low for that

TroyTown · 19/02/2021 17:26

DamsonDress this made me laugh!!
I know that feeling - have I overdone it? - then you realise washing your hair isn’t exactly ‘piling on the glamour’

Ishoos · 19/02/2021 17:26

@SummerHouse

Thank you *@Ishoos* you have made my day although the bar is set very low for that
#Proud!
SummerHouse · 19/02/2021 17:26

And thank you too @Shrivelled my day is made twice!

zigaziga · 19/02/2021 17:31

@PursuingProxemicExactitude

I've started talking to myself.

I don't mean "must take that washing out" talk. I mean asking myself a question, and answering in a different voice.

And this morning I had a friendly conversation with the abandoned bobble of a lost hat. Shock

Not sure whether to be concerned or not. Hmm

Your washing out comment makes me remember a conversation I had with DH the other night about how I’d been thinking it was almost time to hang the washing line out in the garden again for the spring / summer and how I’d look forward to the day we chose to do that and we should pick a weekend. Yep..
Raera · 19/02/2021 17:35

Ok I admit it, I have been singing to veg
"Oh you are a mucky leek...."

teraculum29 · 19/02/2021 17:36

I'm on annual leave, (just 1 week)
Worked normally all this time, and today I received shielding letter, so I m on furlough now.
Shock to the system

Jemimatheragdoll · 19/02/2021 17:39

I've cleaned the oven, fridge and skirting boards-all in one week, must be bored.

Bumped into a friend I don't know that well in the supermarket yesterday, felt strangely tearful

Judged our neighbours for having an oversized wheelie bin (which you have to practically beg for) when there are only 3 of them. Tbh I gave myself a stern talking to about this one, who cares Grin
