This morning I was worried about bringing in my emptied recycling boxes in case the neighbours thought I'd forgotten to put them out
This is clearly lunacy. I have never cared in my life about what anyone else thinks
Anyone else? Please tell me I'm not alone in my madness!

@SummerHouse - thank you for your kind words. I'm hoping I can meet my friend more, and a few others now, socially distanced. Cases have been very high in my area but coming down now. I know things will get better. Just feeling isolated and sad today.

Mammaaof · 19/02/2021 17:41

I couldn't sleep last night with the excitement of going to the vets today to pick up my dogs wormer. I even did a full face of make up and got dressed up (my partner looked at me puzzled asking if I fancy the vet) 😂😂

@ifitpleasesandsparkles

A bath is an event. I don't like baths. I like showers. But baths kill more time.

😞

Yes I bathe my children in the day now to use time up. A long bath with bubbles and bath toys and children’s songs on my phone kills at least 45 minutes and it’s 45 minutes of no screens. I’m not sure anyone particularly enjoys it but it’s what we do now and that’s that.
Silkies · 19/02/2021 17:48

Now we have sold our old house we have run out of things to do there so today I looked up the serial number on our boiler to see how old it was. I need to find work to do here now. Grin

Silkies · 19/02/2021 17:49

DH keeps sending me daily photos of our cats movements.

Silkies · 19/02/2021 17:51

This is the picture he sent me today to let me know the cat is sleeping on his chair so its hard for him to wfh.

ssd · 19/02/2021 17:54

I'm looking forward to sorting out my socks drawer soon.

PursuingProxemicExactitude · 19/02/2021 17:57

Grin Are you sure that was a conversation, zigaziga? Sounds a little one-sided!

This morning I woke up all cheerful and excited - because I'd be speaking to colleague on the phone later. Then realised that's not till tomorrow ... Sad

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 19/02/2021 17:57

@Silkies
You could make a list of all numbers on all items in your new house and then add them up and do fun divisions?

And as always - I love your cat

WithIcePlease · 19/02/2021 18:00

I'm going to be reckless and tidy my bedside drawer now. Been keeping that one for a while.....

abc31 · 19/02/2021 18:03

@Silkies

I initially interpreted this as daily photos of your cat's bowel movements. In itself a sigh of lockdown cabin fever.

I've started fining my children 50p for leaving lights on. I might even get a takeaway Costa with my illicit gains.

MsTSwift · 19/02/2021 18:05

A trip to the Mac Donald’s drive in next to the supermarket was the much anticipated highlight of half term. We never eat McDonald’s. Last Feb half term the highlight was a day trip to London and also seeing Six the musical.

Yep. Been in one so much I'm starting to grow fins. And I work ft outside the house, so it's only really my days off that I'm not doing what I'd normally do.

Anyone else watch programmes made before all this and find themselves thinking that they're not wearing masks or staying 2 metres apart because it's what you see day in day out and has become expected that you'll see it?
Or worse still verbalise that to a colleague at 4am during the regular 'weird 4am conversation' and look like a complete twat?
No.....?

Just me then....... Blush

Silkies · 19/02/2021 18:08

Thanks Prok I've managed to come up with loads of projects we could get done on house plus I have 2 tax returns and some tidying / cleaning to do.

I can get the stairs altered so we can get the third bedroom put back in the old lady before us took out, then I can get the boiler changed to a combi boiler and get the hot water tank removed and built in cupboards put in, I can get the kitchen old cooker taken out and a new one put in and the fridge and freezer moved into the kitchen and dishwasher and units painted and new worktop put in. Then we can make utility room into a laundry room and add a shower to the downstairs bathroom. And this will require me to fill in loads of forms as we are grade II listed conservation area. It's amazing how many projects you can come up with when you have nothing else to do. Our neighbour also wants the fence redone. DD also added she can have a new floor.

evespudding · 19/02/2021 18:08

Going for a mammogram bought some variety to the day.

catsareme14 · 19/02/2021 18:11

I cleaned the underside of my sink plugs ...

Hermie12 · 19/02/2021 18:11

I knew desperation had set in when I looked out at another rainy day this week and silently mourned the fact that soft plays were closed.

ssd · 19/02/2021 18:17

Soft play kept me going when mine were small.

Silkies · 19/02/2021 18:18

I also find myself looking at holidays that I can't go on or planning imaginary ones. I sometimes watch youtube clips of places so I can have an imaginary holiday now. I'm going round Borneo atm.

Em3978 · 19/02/2021 18:18

@Redsquirrel5

I am about to start crocheting a rug. I found the wool today. I didn’t have time for it before.

DH and I are lucky as we have four walks we can do from our house. Every two weeks we go on one walk with pickers and pick up the rubbish on our lovely, country road.

Wednesday, we went to the small supermarket within a garden centre. I needed to get some covering for the chickens as the other one ripped in the wind. DH told me to “come on” because I was telling the guy there about my chickens. He was very polite and was listening but I was obviously talking too much. DH doesn’t speak much so I don’t get much conversation in the house. I have only seen two people in the last two weeks.

We’ve bought a greenhouse. There is a site for them and people post pictures of there greenhouse arriving in the van then updates with captions like. “ I’m so excited I can see the van pulling up.” And everyone agrees 🤣
I didn’t have to persuade DH. He sent off for three greenhouse catalogues and spent a couples days looking at them. After ordering it he took apart one of the raised bed and raked it all until it was even. DH isn’t a very keen garden. Minimum done until last year.

I've been contemplating getting a litter picker...
shrumps · 19/02/2021 18:20

Talking to myself completely ramped up to a new level. I've started doing this thing where I just announce out loud what I am thinking (to an empty room) every time it happens I get a sense of my unravelling.

starsinyourpies · 19/02/2021 18:22

@Emelene I remember that! However I've just gone on to have DC3 so we got through it. Fingers crossed for some good weather so you can walk with friends.

MmeD · 19/02/2021 18:30

Up until 2020, I hated my boss and I hated open plan offices. Now I miss my open plan office and my boss calls and we have long, chatty, friendly conversations and I don’t know who I am anymore.

55larry · 19/02/2021 18:31

I have got an exciting week next week as I have an appointment to see a podiatrist (medical appointment) and a blood test. As I have just been told to shield I can’t even go to the supermarket anymore which has been my weekly outing. Dh will have to do the shopping. He gets all the wrong things.

mumwon · 19/02/2021 18:42

I sorted out some out of date things from my cupboard emptied the contents into one bin & boxes carefully flattened into another
Had fun on the town facebook complaining about a local development
watched what was happening out the front (absolutely nothing)
been on mn (again I am going to have to change my name)
sorted out & printed photos for more sketching (done several since Christmas)

put off tidying the bedrooms until tomorrow or the next day or the day after...
rereading Jurassic Park ...
