On a day off and bored. If I were to make a dream shoppong list, what things would you recommend? What have you bought that makes your life better? What have you thought would make your life better but didn't? I'll start...

I can recommend my kitchen tap with the extendable end, hair oil and phd half size protein bars.

I wouldn't recommend olaplex and babyliss big hair (although I have a head full of mental curls so might be more to do with my hair type!)

I'd recommend, paying £10 a month for Spotify, I love listening to music whilst cooking, dining, walking, running ... without ads constantly interrupting!

My teddy bear soft throw, I love wrapping myself up in it in the evening on the sofa.

Wouldn't recommend diy fake tan ... tried loads and can't seem to find one that goes on without streaking or washes off a soon as you have a shower!

pooopypants · 12/01/2021 16:50

A robot vacuum is on my wishlist. But that would also mean me having to tidy toys and kid's crap away every night so he could do his little circuit. I currently don't, because I'm a slattern

Elasticatedwaist · 12/01/2021 16:52

I’d recommend bramblewood soap company’s bath fizzys, a Christmas present that I really liked and shepherd of Sweden slippers 🙂

Aquamarine1029 · 12/01/2021 16:54

My robot vac is my best friend. I've had it for over a year, and I will never be without one again. I have five cats and used to drag out the hoover every bloody day. No more of that nonsense.

BrassyButtons · 12/01/2021 16:54

Moshulu slippers (comfy and not megabucks) and air pods.

Air pods have just opened up a world of listening to podcasts/audio books while I'm doing any number of dull tasks or one of the endless bloody walks. Don't know how I managed without them.

QueenBeth · 12/01/2021 16:59

good bras. I stupidly spent £££££ on a Prima Donna bra in a fit of post-stress zombitude and now it makes all my M&S bras feel terrible in comparison.

a robovac. It's not going to make your house spotless but it gets rid of a gratifying amount of fluff

Nesti Dante soap. Not that much more expensive than normal posh soap at about a fiver a go, but it lasts ages, smells delicious and makes you feel virtuous for not filling the bathroom bin with empty plastic shower gel bottles.

lunasunshine · 12/01/2021 17:03

Recommend:

  • My new Sage Barista coffee machine. We’ve only had it a week and now I can’t believe we existed for so long without it! I’m enjoying it SO MUCH.
  • Noise cancelling headphones for running.
  • A lovely snuggly warm cardigan that I got from Hollister. I’ve worn it pretty much every day since I got it. It goes with everything and it’s just so soft and warm.

My dc had echo dots and lightbulbs for their bedrooms for xmas. I think they're brilliant so have ordered one for downstairs too but it's not going to arrive until early feb as out of stock.

ruthieness · 12/01/2021 17:05

electric hot water bottle!
rechargeable jumper debobbler!

funnyoldonion · 12/01/2021 17:06

I recommend am Oodie, although I thought they were weird at first, they are excellent to keep warm (save money on heating), calm anxiety, they even have a pocket for snacks!

Also, recommend my Next fake ugg slippers, 18 quid, brilliant.

Clinique superdefense face cream is also a new find of mine I am enjoying.

Do not recommend Next towels, very thin compared with BHS which I now can't buy.

WednesdayAllTheWay · 12/01/2021 17:10

Lightweight wireless hoover
Evolve beauty, basically their whole skincare range
Dressing gown that is made of towel material
Microwaveable heat pack

carrotcake124 · 12/01/2021 17:16

My lavazza joile coffee machine - makes me happy having decent coffee every day

Bread machine as it's brilliant

Vigorothello · 12/01/2021 17:18

Another vote for robot hoover. Just the fact that I pick up stuff out of the way means the place stays tidy and then I set him off to do his thing. I love him. He’s so faithful and reliable.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/01/2021 17:20

Disillusioned4now · 12/01/2021 17:30

The Calm App. Lovely stories to set you off to sleep read by calming narrators as well as meditation and breathing exercises.

Vibration plate - I have a chronic illness which means I have no energy and I have pain from lack of movement. Only used it once for 10 mins as it arrived yesterday but my knees feel so much better already!

Oh god. I love soaps so have just gone and ordered the black cherry and red berries one 🤣
caramelchaos · 12/01/2021 17:33

Oooh, I'm having a great time googling everything! Robot hoover is like the ultimate in luxuary! Ive never heard of an oodie before, the look so cozy but quite pricey!

My electric blanket is about the only thing I have going for me right now!

Notanorthadontist · 12/01/2021 17:38

Robot vacuum cleaner
Coffee grinder
Fox & Ivy towels from Tesco
Alexa

Lookingoutside · 12/01/2021 17:50

Definitely get the robot hoover. Have a look at the eufy on Amazon.

Chocolate. Whatever you favourite is, doesn’t have to be fancy.

Clarins or Korres body wash

High thread count cotton bedding

A silk bed spread

Spotify

Good coffee

Lamps and candles. No harsh big light in my flat.

Aquamarine1029 · 12/01/2021 17:51

Yes to a eufy. That's what I have.

Mintylizzy9 · 12/01/2021 17:52

My rip off oodie called a comfy it’s half the price of oodie and is keeping me cosy WFH.

My robot vacuum only had it a few weeks but it’s a game changer, it also “mops” but it’s more of a wipe but keeps on top of all the floors so I only have to do a proper mop every couple of weeks!

Sheepskin slippers - like Ugg’s but the Costco brand. I’m on my second pair the first ones lasted a couple of years and were still great they just looked a bit battered from getting chucked in the washing machine. They have a proper sole so good on hard floors and for nipping out to the bin/car.

Fire stick, never watch “normal” tv anymore between prime Netflix and Disney+

I’ve just bought a proper desk chair for WFH as the dining chair was killing my back, wish I’d bought it months ago!

Twinkl account, signed up during lockdown 1 and have used it ever since.

Finally replaced my broken gas fire with a fancy electric one that I can control from my phone it’s the height of laziness but I love it after years of no fire.

Various amazon devices, have one in most rooms now Alexa controls so much stuff, I have lamps on timers etc. Coupled with a smart extension lead I didn’t have to crawl under the Xmas tree to turn off the lights this year.

LegallyBlondeee · 12/01/2021 18:26

My ninja foodie. It’s a 7 in one cooking MACHINE! I haven’t used my oven in year and it’s cooked my cooking time down by half!

My wax melters. Just because I like nice smells.

A ninja coffee machine, because I can set it before bed and boom fresh coffee for when I wake up.

spiderlight · 12/01/2021 19:06

A cocker spaniel. Honestly, they should be available on the NHS - mine makes us all smile a hundred times a day and he's better than any therapist. Plus he's a weighted blanket, white noise machine and hot water bottle in one when he's melted into me on the sofa in the evenings snoring his little head off.

QuestionableMouse · 12/01/2021 19:13

Cat food delivery. It's about the same price for better food and I don't have to worry about running out.
