On a day off and bored. If I were to make a dream shoppong list, what things would you recommend? What have you bought that makes your life better? What have you thought would make your life better but didn't? I'll start...

I can recommend my kitchen tap with the extendable end, hair oil and phd half size protein bars.

I wouldn't recommend olaplex and babyliss big hair (although I have a head full of mental curls so might be more to do with my hair type!)

Proper waterproof walking boots. Not hugely expensive, I think they were £40 in the sale.

Means I can head out on sunny winter mornings like this one and explore beautiful places without fussing about puddles, mud, wet feet or ruined shoes. Just walk on through the middle.

Walking has kept me sane this year. That and reading - thank you library card

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 17/01/2021 17:44

My Eufy (and goggle eyes) has arrive from this thread 🐑
This thread is terrible, I’ve also ordered some candles I saw earlier.
I have think vibroplate. I can’t pin it down to actually curing anything but it definitely gives me a toned/circulation improvement. Heavy though but feels well built

@BikeRunSki you're welcome. Hope they are what you want. I bought them for the same reason. Pillows are a nightmare to find what you need.

Sennedd · 17/01/2021 18:27

Mine are:
Ipad
Baavet (wool duvet)
Bamix hand blender and the attachments
Chilly’s water bottle
Just Moo soap (made in North Wales). Smells gorgeous.
Egyptian cotton bedding (at least 400 thread count)
Kindle
Hand knitted wool socks!
@BikeRunSki waffle pillows from signature homewares website. Excellent customer service too.
How thick are these waffle ones?

I'm having a nightmare with a neck issue.

BikeRunSki · 17/01/2021 19:51

@SadderThanEeyore, I have messaged you

buckeejit · 17/01/2021 20:47

Instantpot-others probably as good but homemade Greek yogurt is soooo good!

Latex pillows-the business!

Electric hot water bottle

Essential oils-I love candles too but none as good as essential oils -electric diffuser is good

Eufy vote again

Dymo embossing label maker-my spice drawer is beautiful now!

Audible subscription-listening to books with otherwise dead time is great.

Basket for each child's hats, scarves, gloves.

buckeejit · 18/01/2021 15:57

And a whistling kettle which sits on the induction hob & looks better than an electric kettle

Carriemac · 18/01/2021 17:02

Tell Me more a bout the whistling kettle

EightToSixer · 18/01/2021 17:02

Thanks to this thread we bought a Eufy vacuum this weekend and we love him!

I would add:
Bamboo socks from BAM. (Maybe I’m just the age now when I appreciate comfy well fitting socks).

St Eval sea salt candles to take my mind to the coast. I also love the spring flowers one in spring.

My air fryer. I’m on keto so use it daily. I currently have a whole chicken in there. I’ll take that out and let it rest when I pop in some frozen chips for the kids.

For real luxury my extra wide and deep bath with bathroom tv fitted into the tiles at the end. I can watch box sets or tv in the bath and it’s become a place of real relaxation for me. A lifesaver. Bonus luxury is the loccitane gel, moisturiser and perfume in cherry blossom that I adore.

minipie · 18/01/2021 17:06

@EightToSixer do the BAM socks last? I’m fed up with socks that go to holes within a few months of buying. The only ones that don’t are my boring Pringle cotton ones but I’d prefer something softer...

@VikingNorthUtsire which waterproof walking boots do you have and are they comfy and warm?

Also eyeing up a Eufy, but I only recently bought a stick dyson so it feels a bit extravagant...

nevernotstruggling · 18/01/2021 19:44

I second the bamboo socks. My mum buys them for me at Xmas. I pleaded this year! For them! I have to be honest and say they will only last a year or so but they are soo comfortable and smooth. Other socks will feel rubbish in comparison.

A breville for daily lunch toasters.
My nespresso machine
We recently purchased a waffle maker which is proving to be a hit

bananamonkey · 19/01/2021 09:33

Eufy, I love him like a third child.

Gousto boxes, got them in the January offer last year then they were a godsend during lockdown 1.0 and we’ve kept them up. Now I just have to do a click and collect order every 2 weeks for other shopping.

Amazon Prime, Netflix, Google Home speaker and nests in every room, total luxury.

Super king size bed and feather duvet. Sealy Posturepedic mattress, seemed like crazy money at the time but so worth it.

Little drawers by the front door, one each for hats, sunglasses, gloves, masks. sun cream etc. No more mad scrabbling for things before leaving the house.

A Seasalt Janelle coat, totallly mumsy but so practical for the nursery run.

Chlordiazepoxide · 19/01/2021 09:51

Any links for bamboo socks

glassacorn · 19/01/2021 10:28

Just looking at robot vacuums/mops and can see that the Eufy is on offer on Amazon!

Recommend me stuff that makes your life better!
quince2figs · 19/01/2021 10:48

M&S do large packs of viscose women’s socks - called sumptuously soft. I think viscose can be made from different wood pumps, including bamboo.
Anyhoo, they are wonderful- silky, stay soft even if line dried and last us 1-2 years at least. I buy lots of size 6-8 in black for me and 2 DCs. No sock sorting!
Boots also do similar. Cotton socks feel very stiff and scratchy now in comparison.

Borntobeamum · 19/01/2021 10:54

Hot chocolate Velvetiser.
I’m using it with Options White hot chocolate and it’s making it lovely and frothy!

user1471523870 · 19/01/2021 12:00

Not all bought recently, but I love each and one of them!

 • Kindle Fire. I have been using it every day for years: I read books obviously, magazines from the Prime subscriptions, I watch movies, I browse, check my emails,... It gets used primarily in bed, but it ALWAYS comes with me when I travel as it's such a space saver. And I occasionally give it to my toddler for watching Peppa.
 • Dyson cordless hoover. I know it's old news but it has changed my life.
 • Click and Grow. It was a Christmas present and I love it love it love it. There is a strange feeling of accomplishment watching my herbs grow so nicely without lifting a finger.
 • Boots Microdermabrasion scrub. It makes my skin soooo smooth and make up goes on very well in the morning. I have stocked up in the sale.
 • nice wooden chopping board with removable color coded mats. No more destroying all my wooden chopping boards in the dishwasher and never have one available when needed.
 • vacuum sealer. No more mouldy cheese, it saves so much food waste.
 • my new desk and chair for working from home. I was reluctant to add more furniture but they are small, sleek and so stylish I just love sitting there to work during the day.
buckeejit · 20/01/2021 11:49

@Carriemac - mine isn't there any longer but similar to this

Carriemac · 26/01/2021 09:16

I love those kettles !

Acinonyx2 · 26/01/2021 09:37

From this thread I got my essential oil diffuser. But my desire for a eufy is becoming unbearable! DH is less enthusiastic Hmm Which one to choose though?

Snap . And also wondering what robot vacuum is best .
Acinonyx2 · 01/02/2021 17:15

@MoriaRoseForever that's funny - did you decide on a robot? I haven't yet. Which oils do you like best?

Glenchase · 01/02/2021 17:41

Lavender hand sanitiser. So much nicer than the plain stuff, it doesn’t smell like sanitiser and makes an unpleasant necessity just a bit more luxurious.

Bracken Hill jam for my toast. It’s so much nicer than supermarket jam. The Stormy marmalade and Passionfruit curd are to die for.

Rafi’s curries. So much better than jars of sauce. I buy several and keep them in the freezer.

Kinto Unimug for my tea, I love it so much.

Niwaki gardening tools. You need a Horihori trowel and some Japanese secateurs, they’re just so beautiful and wickedly sharp. The penknives are amazing too.

Surprised how many people have said electric blankets though. If you remember GCSE science, electric current induces a magnetic field. I don’t want to be sitting in a magnetic field no matter how cosy it is. Not while the jury is still out on whether it increases cancer risk.
