On a day off and bored. If I were to make a dream shoppong list, what things would you recommend? What have you bought that makes your life better? What have you thought would make your life better but didn't? I'll start...

I can recommend my kitchen tap with the extendable end, hair oil and phd half size protein bars.

I wouldn't recommend olaplex and babyliss big hair (although I have a head full of mental curls so might be more to do with my hair type!)

Cushions on my sofa have changed my life! It may sound dramatic but I literally said this to my husband the other day. I've never had them before but decided to buy some large ones when we redecorated and they make the sofa infinitely more comfortable. Unfortunately no one else in the house shares my enthusiasm so I do spend a large portion of the day picking them back up off the floor.

Agree with things like the tumbled drier (my best friend) & slow cooker.

Electric blanket throw for using on the sofa. Particularly good when dc are a bit out of sorts and they relax on the sofa with a good book

Things like frozen chopped veg. Microwave rice etc for easy dinners.

Ninja foodi is the best, I now have my eye on the ninja grill too it's so good.

Watching with interest so I google this little lot tomorrow when I am "working". It's going to be like the generation game conveyor belt of exciting things. Thanks everyone.

postcardfromme · 12/01/2021 23:12

Electric blanket! How did I ever survive without it??! It's my bestie

RubyFlint · 12/01/2021 23:17

You can tell it’s winter with these lists of blankets, bed warming devices, sheepskin slippers etc Grin

Can I ask OP why you said hair oil? I’m intrigued!

Mine are:

Netflix subscription - I’ve enjoyed taking myself off to bed early to watch whatever the hell I like on my tablet.

Sorel winter boots - my feet are always warm and dry.

Electric blanket. I bought it in the summer sale. It’s lovely! DH and I are converted and I wish I’d invested years ago.

womanaf · 12/01/2021 23:20

Faux fur electric blanket
Love Leggings leggings (even if you’re not really a legging person)
Instant Pot (not if you’re a foodie, just if you’re someone who cooks for the family every day)

Luckingfovely · 12/01/2021 23:21

There's so many lovely things on this list!

I have a one-week-old robovac called Savage, and I love it, very distracting though!

Sonos speakers & Spotify premium
Boiling water tap
Weighted blanket
Air Force One trainers
Expensive candles and soaps (albeit usually from TKMaxx)
A wine fridge
Espresso machine AND a French Press, along with a monthly fresh ground coffee subscription
Dogs
Beauty advent calendars in the season
Beauty Pie subscription

There must be many more, what a lovely thread to save for inspo in these dull days Smile

AIR FRYER CHANGED MY LIFE

babbaloushka · 12/01/2021 23:44

We have a Ninja one, it does EVERYTHING. Oven chips come out crisp and delicious, not soggy and half baked. Does veg, cakes, stews anything you could imagine. The kids love it, makes mealtimes so much easier. They don't even realise they're eating leftovers because everything comes out so tasty and feeling fresh. DH and I are obsessed. Sausage roll in it is like Jesus' second coming.

Second place Gousto subscription

YouKnowItsTrue · 13/01/2021 00:05

I see lots of people have mentioned a hot tap.

We looked into getting one fitted recently but as we have a ceramic sink apparently they are not suitable. I was advised we’d need either a composite or a stainless steel sink.

Bloody annoying as I rather fancied getting rid of the kettle!

caramelchaos · 13/01/2021 00:06

rubyflint I am a hair oil obsessive! I've tried lots of different types and found no massive differences...at the moment i'm using superdrug's argan oil one (only cost about 4 quid). My hair is so much more manageable and ridiculously soft. I also think it helps me get an extra day out of it so only wash every second day.

Also wondering about the cat food subscription, sounds like that would make life easier! I get smol dishwasher tabs and washing capsules and love that I never forget to buy these anymore!
